1 lb. ground Italian sausage 32-oz. beef broth or chicken broth 1 16-oz. jar chunky salsa 1 15-oz. can black beans, rinsed and drained 2 15-oz. cans golden hominy, rinsed, drained 1 c. barley 2 tsp. chili powder 1 tsp. oregano 1 tsp. ground cumin
In a large skillet, cook meat. Drain off fat. Add everything else and simmer until barley is done, or transfer it to a slow cooker. Serves 8.
