I use the onion soup or vegetable broth and then go from there. I always make sure it has plenty of cabbage. Just remember the nutrition value changes when you use different ingredients.

The beauty of skinny soup is you can make it a million different ways.

I always start with chicken broth and add whatever veggies I'm craving at the time.

I ran across this recipe at www.allrecipes.com and even though I am not a cabbage lover, it is rather delicious.

Makes 12 one cup servings

6 cups beef broth or 2 pkgs onion soup plus 6 cups of water. ( I use the onion soup and water)
28 ounces diced tomato with juice
2 tablespoons tomato paste
4 cups chopped cabbage
1 cup chopped onion
1 cup sliced carrots
1 cup green beans
1 cup chopped zucchini
1 teaspoon basil
1 teaspoon oregano
1 garlic clove chopped ( I use garlic flakes or just put in some garlic powder while cooking)
salt and pepper to taste
----------------------------------------
--------------------------
1) Spray pot with non stick cooking spray. Saute' onions, garlic and carrots for 5 minutes.
2) Add the rest of the ingredients and simmer for 1 hour.
3) You can add vegetables and seasoning of your choice.
