Thanks, I hope I can still increase my speed, especially those tricky moves :D It will be awesome to effortless change from one style to another and with high speed!

Phew, I thought it was me being lazy LOL And lately, there are lots of Time ZWOW so this year, I'm going to select AMRAP ZWOW either from previous or latest - much better for my sanity, hehe.

Wow - you are FAST!! That is awesome!

Yeah the longer ZWOW's are so hard and tiring... A lot of the time they are too intimidating for me to begin.. Or I can't start because I know how long it will take... lol

Yes your ideas are for sure more fun and challenging - and you are working your body hard without even realising because it's so fun! :D

I beat my score today! Yay! My last score was over 4 minutes...
Tonight I warmed up with 10 x forward jumps + 1 x reverse jumps... and so on until 1 x forward jump + 10 x reverse jumps. I finished in 3:29 woohoo!!
I did ZWOW#49 (half of it) then and then wanted to try and beat my warm up jump rope score.
I began straight away and could feel improvements each time. Stopping the rope after forward jumps and going the other way automatically. Felt good! I didn't allow for mistakes either - if I stood on the rope on 4 jumps when my target was 6, I would begin again from one.
My cooldown jump took me 2:39!!!

Practice makes perfect! ;D

Today is my rest day (Mondays & Thursdays are my rest day from exercises) so no normal+reverse jump rope workout. Yeah, time sure flies by when do this type of exercises, probably because for me, I concentrate too much on staying on feet than tripping when reverse LOL Which is why mix jump rope always the best way to make jump rope workout more fun and challenging!

First of all, I'm so so sorry, I couldn't help laughing, especially the part you hit the ceiling and got your leg wrap up, maybe Christmas wrapping gift mood still on, hehe. Which is why I did the basic first coz I'm not sure if I still remember how to do reverse :P And also which is why I put Reverse Jump as one of the weekly challenges, to prepare people with this bonus challenge, hehe.

I think you still did awesome, still under 5 minutes!

I didn't realise how hard the reverse jumps were going to be haha!!

I did this version -
10 x forward jump + 1 x reverse jump
9 x forward jump + 2 x reverse jump
And so on!

Well this certainly made me sweat, haha! It took me 04:12 to finish!
I kept getting caught up in the reverse, hitting the ceiling with my rope, I took a hit to my foot, arm, and FACE! Whoops.. lol, the rope actually got wrapped around my right leg once too... I don't know how!?

I know people will get confuse with my description, hehe.

When I say normal and reverse, it referring to how you spin your rope. My normal is the rope goes from back to front and my reverse is front to back. So, if I want to do 10x forward then 10x backward, I will do normal rope spin and moving forward for 10 jumps (sort of like you hop to forward) then move back to start position with 10 more jumps (hop backward) but this time, the rope spin reverse.

Are you still confuse, hehe.

I will try every day, if I don't end up laughing coz reverse jump rope makes me feel so silly LOL

This sounds like a really fun challenge!

Shall we try and do this combination every day until the New Year?

And okay so, we do 10 x forward jumps, then either stop the rope or try to slow it down to reverse it the other way and do jumps with the rope going the opposite way? Just so I am sure hehe! :D

28th Dec 2012 - 1st Jan 2012 ~ Goodbye 2012, Hello 2013!
A bonus challenge for our countdown in 5 days!

In one set of normal and reverse jump rope, do 10 normal jumps then 10 reverse jumps. Decrease the number to 9 normal jumps + 9 reverse jumps. Continue to reduce the number till you get 1 normal jumps + 1 reverse jumps! So, in one set, you will get 110 jumps.

So, it will be something like this:
10x normal + 10x reverse
9x normal + 9x reverse
8x normal + 8x reverse
7x normal + 7x reverse
6x normal + 6x reverse
5x normal + 5x reverse
4x normal + 4x reverse
3x normal + 3x reverse
2x normal + 2x reverse
1x normal + 1x reverse

If you know binary numbers, 110 is equals to 6 which also equals to:
(last digit in 2012) x (last digit in 2013) = 2 x 3 = 6! A very good coincidence, haha.

If you want harder, instead of jumps in one spot, try these:
#1 Reach Your Goals, Learn From Mistakes!
Jump forward 10x then jump backward with reverse spin 10x then continue reduce the number till you get forward-normal 1x + backward-reverse 1x
(it helps to have big space to do this!)

Or #2 Yes Better Future, No Give Up!
Jump normal spin forward-backward 10x then jump reverse side-to-side 10x. Continue reduce the number till you get normal forward-backward 1x + reverse side-to-side 1x

Or #3 Move Forward More, Move Backward Less!
Do 10 reverse jumps + 1 normal jumps. Then reduce jumps for reverse and increase jumps for normal, should be like this:
10x reverse + 1x normal
9x reverse + 2x normal
8x reverse + 3x normal
7x reverse + 4x normal
6x reverse + 5x normal
5x reverse + 6x normal
4x reverse + 7x normal
3x reverse + 8x normal
2x reverse + 9x normal
1x reverse+ 10x normal
(I think this might need your full concentration!)

Good luck, team, and see all of you in new year!

I did this today, in 5 minutes I got 162 jumps. Same thing like last time but this time, I had to adjust my pants after complete one round wiper LOL Quite hard to jump between bamboo mat and tiled floor as those were my jumping area.

Week #12 Dec 17th - Dec 23rd: Wiper Jumps!

Start with facing 12 o'clock. When you jump, slightly change your position so that you are no longer facing 12 o'clock. Keep increasing your "inclination degree" as if you are wiping the floor like the a car's wipers on rainy day till you face 3 o'clock. Then "undo" by moving back to 12 o'clock then continue towards to another side, 9 o'clock.
(This also looks like the second hand in a clock)

If you have small space, try to widen your jump area as much as you can, even if you only manage to jump between 11 o'clock and 1 o'clock.

If you have big space, you can try to jump 360 degree or from 12 o'clock clockwise/counter-clockwise back to 12 o'clock!

Try to get at least 60 jumps by end of this week!

Good luck and don't get too dizzy with Wiper Jump!

I did this just now with a twist - for every 2 -3 counts, I stop and tied back my hair and untangled my rope, which probably why I took 10-min to get 66 counts, haha. I just washe my hair and didn't want to tie too tight. Will try again later in afternoon, with properly tied hair, hehe.

Oh, and this is my 1st workout after long rest since 4th Dec!

That's really fast! This weekend, I will try to do as much as I can in 3 minutes and do lots of 3 minutes throughtout the day (as an excuse of breaks from HUGE decluttering job for my bedroom!) - I usually get tangled when I do this too fast or too slow, still trying to find the right speed LOL

My challenge for today after my workout was to do 60 multijumps and see how fast I could do them.

For one multijump count I did Right-Left-Forward-Back - count as ONE.

I did 60 in 3:39.
My next goal is to beat this! :D

I added this onto the end of my workout today. I called it the multi-jump, ha, and did a quick circuit...

30 x multi-jumps
10 x deadlifts w/ dumbells
30 x multi-jumps
etc...

I counted each jump as one, to start off easy to get used to jumping different ways, I went right then left then forward then back and repeat. :D

Great idea Faith, thank you for your time and dedication keeping this team going. I am sorry I am so ... in-and-out !

Week #11 Dec 10th - Dec 16th: 4-point Star!
Do 3x Side-to-Side Jump Rope then 3x Forward-Backward Jump Rope. That is 1 count.

To make this harder, alternate Side-to-Side with Forward Backward. So, it will be something like this:
Jump from right to left to front to back then repeat 2x to get 1 count.

And another option to make this more challenging:
Jump from right to left to front to back THEN UNDO - front to left to right then repeat UNDO 2x to get 1 count.

Try to do at least 60 counts in this week!

Week #4 Oct 22nd - 28th: Reverse Jump Rope!
Now that you master the three jump rope styles - Scissors, Lateral, One-Foot-Hop - let's see how you do all those three in REVERSE!

How-to = Do those jumps in opposite turns. If you normally do jump rope with rope from back to front, for reverse you need to do front to back and vice-versa.

For a beginner, try to get at least 60 jumps and for intermediate/advance, I challenge you to get at least 500 jumps!

Yay, good luck for One Hop Jump, Steph! I did this last night, harder than I though, especially when have to double my concentration with jump rope, no more mindlessly thinking other things, hehe.

Week #3 Oct 15th - 21st: One Foot Hop
Pick any day (or you can do daily!) to do as many jumps as you can for One Foot Hop.

How-to = Keeping one leg off the ground, try to jump rope with one foot. Then after you're done with one foot, switch with the other. This can be your basic to do alternate feet jump rope and high-knee jump rope!
