Congratulations to those who reached their goal! Unfortunately, I didn't. I was actually unsuccessful overall in reaching my fitness goals this May although I was able to finish college finally! Meet you guys again in future challenges.

Holy crapamoly! I really didn't think I did that many! Geez, I'm really gonna have to up my game! :P Hopefully though I can also get outside more and work on using my actual jump rope. Once my toddler sees it, he wants it, even if he has the other one :P

Congrats, Luna, that's great, way way ahead of your schedule! I want to try again with music but listening to music tends to make me stop and singing LOL

For rest of May, or to be precise, during my V-A-C-A-T-I-O-N in May, my goal is to do at least 3-min jump daily :D I always skip exercise during my holidays so this time I'm going to try again, yay!

Last Sunday, I reached my goal 6000 jumps for this month, WooHoo!

How's everyone doing so far?

My update:
5/20 = 1060 jumps (Current total = 6173; Extra = 173), did total 60 reverse jumps in 1 min
5/19 = 80 jumps (Current total = 5113); Balance = 887), did total 40 reverse jumps with combo jump in 1 min (it was 40 reverse and 40 normal in 1 min, hehe)
5/16 = 1233 jumps (Current total = 5033; Balance = 967), did total 350 reverse jumps, total 150 in total 2-min when reverse only and total 200 with combo jump in total 6-min.
5/15 = 280 jumps (Current total = 3800; Balance = 2200), did total 180 reverse jumps, 80 in 1 min and 100 was when I combo reverse and normal jumps in 3-min.
5/14 = 45 jumps (Current total = 3520; Balance = 2480), did total 45 reverse jumps in 1 min

Back to jump rope after 2 days Active Rest. I tried to take it lighter first. But today, I'll try to finish off that 887 jumps to reach my jump rope goal!

My update:

I did finally get a jump rope and have been trying to use it, it's really challenging :P I did 15 minutes one afternoon, and though I didn't do the same amount of jumps, I still worked up a sweat. I have been trying the reverse jumps. I'd say I've done it about 20-30% of the days thus far. I'm going to try to work them in more and get my 10 a day at least. One more week of the bootcamp challenge, and I have to keep it up.

I have less 3000 jumps to reach 6000 jumps for this month! Going to do as much as I can this week as next week, I will only have 3 days at home and the rest of May, will have another family-related trip (last month was family-related, too, a 3-days wedding events!).

Last I jump was on last Monday (May 7th) then I get sick plus recovery days so I jump again on Saturday :D Will post my update tomorrow, need to calculate my latest total :D

LACRESHAH, same here, I always try to get even number and always try to reach past 120 per minute to count it as fast jump :D I hope you will consistent jumps, increasing your time! If it's harder for you to jump faster straight, try slower or mix different jump style so that you can keep on jumping till your goal 2 minutes. That what I did if I want to keep on jumping, instead of doing interval jumping.

I wanted to post earlier but was unable and forgetful so the first week of May didn't go my way but I am okay with the numbers so far.

5/1 = 400
5/2 = 400
5/3 = 400
5/4 = 0 ( out of town)
5/5 = 200
5/6 = 0
5/7 = 400
The first week total was 1800 jumps when I planned on 2000. I'll try to make up that number in the next couple of days. I haven't started jumping yet today so I'm not sure how many I will get in but hopefully 400 to 500 jumps.
I try to get in 200 regular jumps, 100 reverse and 100 running jumps. I am still working on increasing the time jumped. I jump 75 jumps in a minute but I try to make it an even number to make calculations easier. Hoping to be able to jump for 2 minutes straight soon.

Yesterday, I had to force myself to get some rest so it was an Active Rest Day, I just did Morning Workout (2-min) and Night Workout (1-min). I'm aiming to get my goal by end of third week of May coz fourth week, I had a special workout plan, hehe.

Hi Leya! I agree, do jumps consistently and a thousand daily can feel easy to do :D But I always do my jumps after strength training so my arms and legs don't want to cooperate much with me LOL

Still trying to jump as low as possible for reverse jump. I think I'm already in control with the jumps, not too much stop and no more rope snapping at my limbs :D Well, unless I do two sessions of jumping like 5/4, which I nearly got 1K :D

Just went back to jumping rope again today but I was able to try doing 10 reverse jumps in one go daily from May 1 - May 5. Earlier today, I went back to my usual 200 regular jumps, 200 running jumps but was not in the mood for doing high jumps so I tried making the remaining 100 out of my usual 500 to be reverse jumps. And I did it!

Regularly doing jumps makes it SEEM like doing a thousand daily is so easy to achieve. And I think it is for some of us. I'd like to try doing a 1000 in one day sometime this May!

Luna, I don't think I can use music for my jumping anymore. Last time I did, I end up stopping to sing along LOL That's so cool, your father in-law going to make your rope, wow! I'm living with my parents, too, and it's a win-win - I can save lots of money and I can help them with house chores and grocery trips and all miscellaneous thing that younger people can do for their parents and save them from worrying their only daughter in bad, bad world LOL (and it's a culture here, single ladies usually live with their family).

FAITHISIN, I realized yesterday I did the same thing as you did. I made my Friday update my Thursday, so I've fixed it! Only a minute difference, but hey, I'm being honest. So I won't be buying my jump rope, my father-in-law pointed out the size and that it'd be too short for me. So he's going to make one :) Definitely wasn't expecting that. Fairly simple though, so I'm looking forward to it. (My husband and I live with his parents and are temping, so money's tight, just like a lot of people). Happy jumping!

Thankfully, the TV is in the back room, not the main room, though all I do in the back is my ghost/air jumps. And if my son feels like it, he dances with me :P He's so cute!

Actually, now that I know how many I can do in a minute, I can listen to music and just do the math once I'm done. Originally I was going to count, but it was difficult to count while listening and I couldn't enjoy the music. So I jumped for 3 songs and got a good workout!

Update:
5/3: 2100 jumps (6700/30000); I didn't actually get to do my reverse jumps yesterday, so hopefully I get the jump rope today and can do 20, that'll be a real challenge.

I just realized I skip one day workout and I didn't use the correct date for my update, haha. I didn't do any jumps on 1st May as I was still try get back my energy from exhausting trip away from home (phew!).

Sheesh, I want to be like you guys when I grow up...LOL!! No but seriously, I'm just getting back into jump roping and I'm much BIGGER than I was when I was doing it 4 years ago. So my goal is to complete 2000 this month! I hope I can do it!! I am starting tonight! If I can do more I will!!

I do my jump rope in living room, too, more space but always have to battle for the space as living room means watching tv there. Hope you will get the rope, I think it will be more challenging!

My goal for the Reverse Jump is to see how many I can do in 1 minute and because in SparkPeople, need to put at least a minute in the tracker LOL
5/2 = 958 jumps (Current total = 1241; Balance = 4759), did total 71 reverse jumps (1st min 29 in afternoon, 2nd min 42 at night)

So I'm going to try to get a jump rope today. Not sure how well it'll work in the basement, but I know it'll fit in the living room, where there's open space. It's hard for me to believe that I used to jump rope so much when I was younger. I tried fast jumps, crossed my arms in front of me. I'm so glad I got back into doing this.

Update:
5/2: 1800 jumps (4600/30000) ; 10 reverse jumps
5/1: 2800 jumps (Total Jump Goal: 30000); 10 reverse jumps

I did twice session of reverse jumps. The 1st time, I got two red lines on my left arm from snapping the rope unintentionally (of course, whyever I want to do that on purpose, hehe). The 2nd time, I got much better, maybe because before that I did another workout and the body more warm up and awake :D

Did my ten reverse jumps as well as 7 min of jumping before the Bootcamp workouts (since they're strength training) and 5 minutes more before bed.

Here's our goals so far:
CAMAEL100 = 6000

FATHINSN = 6000

LACRESHAH = total 5300
LEYAKARAMELA = total 8000
LUNAGURL3 = total 30000

This month, I'm going to do more jump rope as cardio workout instead of squeeze it between strength exercises like I always did. It's been a while since last I did cardio jump rope and I also want to increase my endurance.

I set my April goal for 7000 and did 18000, so my May goal is 30000 jumps (1000 jumps per day). I'm really looking to up my cardio (I'm also in the Bootcamp Challenge this month, so this'll be great for the cardio part). I need to get an actual jump rope. That'll make my reverse jumps really fun.

My May goal is 5300. I got in 4900 jumps in April so I'm increasing only a little. I have been doing the reverse jump after I saw faithin09 mention it in one of her posts. I try to vary so I don't get bored. I can do regular jumps, walking jumps, and reverse. I will give other variations a shot but I am not very coordinated so we'll see how it goes. I would like to focus more on minutes jumped rather that number of jumps just so I can increase my endurance.

I am not great at jumping yet and variations are challenging for me! I am going to do the 10 reverse jumps though.

And I will go for 600 jumps in the month, which is 200 per day.

Congrats to everyone who has joined last month challenges! I'm so happy that there were even some who exceeded their Maximum Total, WooHoo!!!

For this May 2012, we have our main goal and mini goal, similar like last month. I think it's fun to have big and small goals :D

## For May 2012, aim for MAXIMUM TOTAL JUMP by end of the month! ##
Those who got total jumps more than their goal last month, how about increase your goal for this month? Perhaps last month you have went over 4000 jumps so this month aim for 4500!
Or if in April you didn't get your goal, maybe try smaller number, perhaps your last month's goal was a little bit unrealistic?

My goal is 6000 jumps!

And for our mini goal in May 2012? It will be a challenge, especially those who can effortless jump without breaking too much sweat LOL

## DO AT LEAST 10 REVERSE JUMPS DAILY! ##

If you usually swing your rope and arms from back to front, try to reverse that motion by change it to front-back. Vice versa if you're doing otherwise. This will be a good change for normal routine and perhaps if you're already familiar with reverse jump, try to do it with other jump style - Reverse Side-to-Side Jump, Reverse Jack Jumps, Reverse High Knee Jumps, etc etc.
