I think I started to get the hang of this; I started with the 60 jump a day - after this month challenge I think I had made significant progress; I jump daily and today I add 150 jumps to March. I can emoticon more than 60 now! emoticon

Thanks FATHINSN that is a great idea. I'll start doing that today and then with next month, it will be a habit of writing it down. Plus if I do it on my calendar it will be right in front of me each day and I can shoot for better numbers each day. Awesome idea! Thanks again. Jean

Thanks, LACRESHAH :D I was like you, got smaller number than I expected at first week then got sick on 2nd week so a bit discouraged. But I tried harder after I got recovered :D I hope you will get your goal next month!

JERESS26, how about keeping track your progress offline and at least once a week, post your number in the team? I think that will help you - me, I'm writing my progress in my notebook (the paper version, not electronic, hehe) and when I've the time to go online, I posted my result. And I like what you did - just go slow and keep practicing, maybe just a minute a day, focusing on getting your rhythm :D

Congratulations to everyone closing in on their goals! ! ! ! You are emoticon
I'm not going to make my goal. I haven't even kept track. I'm still trying to get my coordination together. At first I couldn't even do 10 jumps in a row! I am doing better, but basically trying to get the rhythm down and not fall. Little improvements and I will eventually get there. I can't believe how uncoordinated I am now. It has been 46 years since I jumped rope and at 61 I expect it to take a bit of practice. So this month I'll just rack up to practice and hopefully getting my rhythm down so I don't trip or fall. Next month onward and upward! Jean emoticon

I'm not going to make my goal of 4500 jumps this month. I barely have 2000 in. I am having a hard time fitting it in my schedule. I probably aimed a little too high also and got discouraged when I had done so few by the middle of the month. Live and learn and next challenge I will make it a smaller goal.

My total jumps is 1180/4500. I have too many days when jumping is hard but at least I am making an effort to get it in. I am pretty sure that I could do a lot better if I could get outside without my smaller kids. I end up playing with them and not jumping because they want my rope and they stand too close to me that I am afraid I will hit them with it.
Not sure if I can make my goal but i will try.

7 = 370 - mixture of normal, jacks, forward-backward, side-to-side, scissors
8 = 430 - a combo of normal, side-to-side, jacks and scissors and with music!
10 = 570, before and after 11-min pilate. Also a combo with music :D

Somehow I couldn't recall what I did on 9th, as if the day was erased from my memory! I'm beginning to love this combo jumps, mixing several styles non-stop and doing with music :D

Not sure what happened to me today - may be that 30g protein bar that I ate two days in a row; felt so energetic today I emoticon 150 this evening - giving me a total of 400 jumps today emoticon hopefully my calf's will not be sore in the morning as I have 2 hours Zumba bootcamp tomorrow that will include 100s of jumping jacks.

with today numbers a total for 10 days in March is 1300; 2700 more to go till end of the month emoticon emoticon

LACRESHAH - thanks! I think I can last longer jumping with mixing several styles :D Your number is increasing steadily!

DRAGONFLY126 - this month, the challenge is aim for Maximum Total Jump by end of this month. So, if you can jump at least 60 daily, try aim 4000 jumps. But yes, you can post both your total jumps and minute here :D

My update:
1 - 6 = nada, was so tired and busy re-organize my clothes drawers (so many clothes that I've no idea to throw or to keep!)
7 = 370 - mixture of normal, jacks, forward-backward, side-to-side, scissors
8 = 430 - a combo of normal, side-to-side, jacks and scissors and with music!

My husband doesn't want me to jump in the house because I have to do it in the kitchen. It makes sense but this is the biggest area I have without a ceiling fan. My kitchen is big and it has very tall ceilings besides I am in there almost all the time anyway why not use my time wisely? I still jump in there from time to time when i cannot go outside. I did 300 jumps in yesterday inside and out. Looks like you are an advanced jumper to do doing forward and backward and side to side. Making up your jumps should be a breeze.

I just started my jumps yesterday so here's my update:

My monthly goal is 5000 and I have about 3 weeks to reach that!

LACRESHAH, I hope you can find a solution on continue jumping safely for yourself and family. Is there any reason why your husband doesn't want you to jump inside? Maybe you can make a deal with him. Me, I jump inside as outside, have to wear more coverage (lots of mosquitoes due to lots of rain, I think) and outside, I don't want my neighbour to see me jump!

RUNNINGSLOW, it's fun to have a goal and the struggle really worth it! I think you've done great so far in March :D

IFFYIFFY, way to go! 15 minutes jumps, must be very sweaty and lots of aches but felt great, too, right :D

Feeling a little discouraged and pressured today. I have a monthly goal of 4500 and I hope to make it but my numbers aren't so good so far.

March
1= 200 jumps
2= 60 jumps (weekend bad weather)
3= 0 (weekend bad weather)
4= 0
5= 260 jumps
6= 0

Today I need to jump a good amount but my husband has asked me not to jump in the house and going outside means shoes, jacket, etc. and I hate having to do that plus if I go outside my two kids always try to get to close and I end up having to stop and try again later. A little frustrating but still hoping to get a rythm going soon.

Everyone else is doing great here!

I will do 4000 jumps. I bought a great jump rope months ago and have not used it. Also, I do a double jump (I call it a stutter jump) and I am not sure why. I jump over the rope and I jump again after it passes. I wonder if I should be counting this as two jumps? It is odd. It's difficult for me to not do it! Anyone else have this strange tendency?

I love how everyone knows how many jumps and I"m too busy watching Stargate to count. lol.

Last month was 10 minutes per week I think this month will be 15 minutes per week.

I am going to aim high even though I am starting out a beginner. I can do 60 jumps pretty easily and can do more if I break it up into several sets a day. I am sure however if my ankle is going to stay strong with the added impact. I'll just have to try it.

How was your February, I hope you all did great with your weekly jumping minute goal :D

For March 2012, aim for Maximum Total Jump by end of the month!
Don't be afraid to aim high, that can help you to get more motivated and it will be more challenging. If you just started jump rope, you can try smaller number, for example if you're doing daily 60, how about aim for 4000 jumps?

My goal is 5000 jumps!
