Anybody besides the 2 Janes still around? I didn't realize it had been so long since I have posted on the team, but according to SP it has been long enough that I am an inactive leader. But, I wasn't suppose to stay as leader anyway just help to get the class started over 2 years ago.

I think some are around.Unfortunately, it seems class teams get pretty quiet because Sparkers find other teams they join that fit aspects of their lives and stick with them.

Why has Sparkpeople reduce my calories so much all of a sudden. I have lost weight but I am working out more...over 300 calories less is a bit much if you ask me.

Hello All!!

Im finally back! :) I had a nice long vacation and have been away from home and internet since the 7th of jan.. My 3500 km ride from Delhi to Ooty (beyond Bangalore) was fun.. i had no bike trouble, the roads were nice in some places and not so nice in others.. apart from one day of solid dehydration, the trip was amazing!! :) My 3 days in Goa were the best, along with riding through tea gardens near Ooty!! I'll be posting pics soon!!

Bad news (very predictable bad news) is that i have gained weight... i was on a loooong vacation.. So i was eating out all the time, dessert included with most meals - 85% of my meals!

I've hit an all time high, Im feeling bad about it.. as in im ready to get back on track, but im feeling low none the less...

My body loves the umber 129. It seems no matter what I do my body insists on returning to this number on the scale. I gained 3 pounds this week. I don't know how? I continue to exercise regularly and my food choices are usually within range. I've been trying to eat 5 to 6 smaller meals through out the day. I've also tried to increase my calories based on advice from a dietitian. She says my body is hording its fats stores because I don't eat enough and my body thinks it is starving. She said to eat every few hours and with my current activity level I should be eating 1300-1600 calories a day. I struggle to get this. I'm not giving up just disappointed and frustrated that my body is not responding the way I want it to.emoticonemoticon

Missy, I'm feeling the same way. I'm getting discouraged because I'm exercising at least 5 days a week and my nutrition tracker is pretty much where it should be, yet I'm not losing. I'm hoping that the weight isn't falling because I'm developing more muscle and soon I'll start to see difference. However, last night I dealtwith the disappointment by eating two chocolates after already reaching my calorie intake for the day.

Missey- I found that I had to adjust my calories. I do not work out as much as you do, but between working, working out and chasing after an overly active toddler I had to eat more than 1200. If you do not eat enough you'll slow your progress. Good Luck!

I talked to my personal trainer and she said the same thing. She advised me to up my calories by 300 to get me to 1500 and see if that helps.

Missey - how much are you eating? You are working out a lot, and I wonder if you are eating enough calories. It sounds so weird, but eating too little can slow your weight loss too!

missey! I have only lost 1-2 pounds in my first month! Dont worry too much! We will all get there! And ur not the only one!! Perhaps this is the way its gonna be for us!! We cant do much but wait!! N as u said, ur clothes are loose! I lost 3.5 inches on my waist!! So count ur blessings/achievements!

Don't give up! Even though you can't see the weight loss yet all that exercise is doing you good. Being stalled is frustrating but super common and you WILL get through it. Just keep thinking of how much better you feel. You might also try changing up your routine to wake your body up--try some different exercises or change up your eating. Your personal trainer might have some ideas for shaking things up, too.

I think I need help. I am so discouraged. I have been going to the gym 5 days a week for 3 weeks including 3 of those days with a personal trainer and I have lost no weight. The scale is stuck! I am working so hard and it is getting me no where. Sure I feel better and I "think" my clothes are looser but the darned scale won't budge! HELP!

Are you drinking your water? It could be what you are eating that makes you feel hungry. Sweets and other foods with 'empty' calories won't feel you up.

I notice on your page you do not share your fitness and nutrition trackers. Do you use them? If so, if you share them somebody might have some further suggestions for you on how to feel full.

If you need motivation, find a picture of what you want to look like from earlier times or a piece of clothing you would like to fit better. Put it somewhere you will see it everyday. Or maybe there is someplace you want to go when you reach your goal, like Hawaii or a cruise, find a picture of where you want to go and put it where you will see it like on the fridge door or bathroom mirror.

Sparkpeople seems to STILL have trouble with mail...this happened the last time I was here. I didn't get any notifications of new posts, and when I checked, all my subscriptions, as they call them, were listed as inactive. This is incredibly frustrating, and one of the reasons I quit the last time as it takes a while to go to each thread to see if there is new mail, post and subscribe again, and then wait and see how long it takes before you stop getting mail, and start all over...Grrrrr. There, I'm sounding off!!!
