You're right, I did find something. Also, confirmed that every apparent obstacle can be turned into an opportunity to learn or do something new and/or beneficial, especially if you take the role of observer/scientist as well as participant in your own training. And life. I'll take the cold any day. Trust me, when the temps reach 90 degrees in the summer, I'll be whining! This is upstate NY. Where do you live?

OK2TRY - awesome idea about the treadmill and video... see, even in the gym on a treadmill YOU FOUND SOMETHING... LOL.
I am a big baby with the cold, but mostly due to my Raynaud's Disease. My hands and feet are like ice, even in the summer. Grew up in southern Texas, so I am not a cold weather folk, at all... so, I will take my 100+ degree run days over 30 degree and below days anyway.
Ha! Be grateful for where ever you live. The week before last I did my running workouts outside-it was in the low 20's and dark! The following week I had a cold (caught from my husband, not brought on by the exposure I don't think), so I laid low. This week it is hovering at 5 degrees so I am making friends with the treadmill at my gym. I have learned how to set up my laptop nearby and use its webcam to video tape my running, in order to look at it later and self-critique my form. By focusing on 1 aspect at a time, for 5 minutes each, I can see the effects if any and I am hoping to make small improvements habitual. I would love to have a "warm spell" in the 20's next week so I can get back outside! Also hoping to find a buddy to continue the videotaping outside, as it is useful.

Saturday 1/19/13 - Went running outside in 39 degree temperature... 1st for me
What I found: ability! I didn't freeze to death and I could do it. PS - I hate cold weather. A LOT
Physical items found: 11 cents (yes, I stopped and picked them up, all pennies) a stuffed teddy bear a silver table spoon a tennis ball 3 lighters 2 empty cigarette packages Too many empty bottles, cans and 1 whiskey bottle
It was quite the run that morning - keeping track of my finds kept my mind off the cold and the run. Perfect!
