I had to ask about my application and will learn next week if I got in; I guess it has worked out because I am on vacation and don't need the expense of the course to start yet anyway.

I still have not heard if I got into the program, which I think means I did; otherwise, I think they would have gotten rid of me so they didn't have to think about me? Now I imagine they're assigning me a tutor/group and gathering together all the money and administration papers they'll need to get me into the course and ready.

I just applied for a year-long program that starts in September, if I am selected (closing date is July 1) it will be an extra $500 or so a month. I'm still using the excuse of getting my Social Security starting last December to pay extra amounts. I've tried working with the food budget and other ways of cutting back on expenses but am not having any luck. I do have one or two things else I can try if there's an emergency, but right now we are doing well financially (just refinanced the house and get money back from that and pay less per month) so I think I will just let it ride.
