I don't get anything shaved or cut on my feet--ick! I just have them push back my cuticles and use a pumice cream to rub my feet and they feel wonderful. If you're considering having major pedicure work--ingrown toenails removed, skin cut, etc--I'd definitely wait until after your race, but if it's just basic clipping toe nails and sloughing dead skin cells, I say go for it! (:

I guess it depends on how you get your pedicure done. I like to cut my toe nails a couple of days before the race. Will you feel like you're running your pedicure if you find they're a little long and trim them up. Also, I never let them take too much skin of the bottom. The abrasive scrubby thing is fine. No shaving! For me at least.
I am 5 weeks out from my first half of the year. I really need to get a pedicure and would like to know if this week-end is okay or if I have waited to close to the day of the race? I wouldn't do it any later because I know I need the tough skin for the race, but is 5 weeks out too close as well? thanks for your help. I found a few articles that talked about pedicures and marathons (which i am not doing)but nothing on time frames.
