I am also working on couch to 10k. I finished my couch to 5k program a few weeks ago. I run three to four times a week with a day of rest between each run. My furthest run has been 4.88 miles.

I'm new to this group.

I did the C25K program two years ago and ran two 5Ks that summer. Then my hip gave me trouble. Since then I've started & stopped (due to the hip 3x) and started and stopped (once due to pneumonia) and started AGAIN. I feel like I've been stuck on the edge of 5Ks for years.

I just ran a 5K this past Saturday and, while it wasn't a PR, I was just glad to be able to run it.

I plan/hope to run a 10K in June 2011, that gives me 6 weeks to work up to running 6.2 miles. I am able to do 3 miles, but had taken some hip resting time when this past race was threatened, so I'm trying to up my mileage slowly but steadily, and carefully, starting out this week with 2 and 3 mile runs. I only run 3x a week, when I've tried to push more often or faster I've run into trouble.

Ran a 5k last april. Went 3-4 months no running. Started back end of december. And currently training for my first 10k in april if i can get in shape in time. Running about 9 miles a week right now. about 3 times a week. Sometimes four times a week.

It's not how many times you get knocked down but how many times you get up.

Finished Couch to 5K. I like the idea of training (running) only 3 days a week. I found the Spark my way to 10K. Anyone else doing this program. Because I currently run 9.3 miles a week - I am starting at week 3, which is run 3,3,4.

I am doing this training as a ramp up to 1/2 marathon training in Oct. Race is Jan 2010.

Good morning.

I started my 10k training program last night. I was supposed to start on Tuesday but had a hockey game instead. That counts towards my training doesn't it? emoticon

Last night's run went pretty good, considering it was on the treadmill. I did 3.1 miles in 41:36... not too shabby.
