Welcome to SP and to the team! I've been a member of Spark for three years, but just discovered the "Daily Calorie Differential" a few months ago when I joined this team.
To start out making this team work for you, track both your daily nutrition and exercise.
When you're done for the day, click on "Reports". You should be able to find "Reports" from your start page on the top bar.
Click on "Daily Calorie Differential". You will then have your calorie deficit or surplus for the day. Tracking this number was the key for me to break my year long plateau. It's a lot of work to track daily, but it really helps.
Each week, this team sends out a weekly calorie differential email that you will get this weekend. You can start posting your deficit each day if you want to. If you look at the team goals, you will also find another place to track your daily calorie differential.
I hope this isn't too confusing. Let me know if you need more help.
