Just checking in, it has been a beautiful day, and I enjoyed. I didn't go to church this morning, I woke with a Sinus headache, and just didn't feel like it.

Karen and George came this afternoon, brought sandwiches (subs) for early supper. By then I was feeling pretty good. We didn't do anything outside, we just visited today. He has a Trade show in Orlando for three days this week, so won't be over to do any yard work until Thurs, Fri. or Sat. Of course his job comes first.

Ginger and I went outside after they left and enjoyed the wonderful weather, and Sun. I swept up some oak leaves while she roamed around outside the pool area. She loves to lay on the deck and watch for squirrels. ;)

Hope everyone has a good night's rest. Hugs and prayers to all.

Pat the bread sounds wonderful. I am going to make Split Pea soup tomorrow....Geo. Jr. said make a lot. LOL He loves it.

Thats a great job you did Pat. You seem to love to cook. Me too. DDIL & I volunteer to teach cooking and baking to underprivileged girls at the church. We have just begun a class on Christmas goodies. I feel good about my doctor's visit yesterday and then spending a couple of hours at the Geriatric Rehab Center in the hospital with patients battling Alzheimer's & Dementia.

One thing I did to make myself real proud-
I Baked 3 loaves of whole wheat bread and was able to share with neighbors and DD too.
The hardest part of the mixing was done by dough hooks on my large mixer machine but
But the last kneeding I did by hand plus shaping of loaves. The bread is delicious and light as opposed to whole grain bread I have attempted in the past.
Next week I plan to experiment and add a cup or two of my oat cereal mix too.

Thank you for the great encouragement. The fact that I have been able to manage taking care of myself for the basic bathroom use has given me a lot of confidence. But my DIL is still very protective about me and insists I take some assistance. This has been a bone of contention between us. So my Grandson had these grab bars fitted & other than help for bathing & changing I can manage. For bathing & changing too I need help as I have a weak right arm & shoulder and can't raise my arm so need help. And I wear a Sari so need help to drape it.

Good for you, Jerry! You are going to gain more strength the more you use your muscles.
We have grab bars in our shower too!
And railings at both front and back steps.

Our DSIL installed a stool in our bathroom that is a couple inches higher than normal stools. That is so much easier to get up and down from than regular.

When DH was recovering from his knee operation last year, DSIL also raised his easy chair and a couch with blocks under his chair and purchased "lifts" under a couch. He even raised his kitchen chair up . There are lots of things that can be done to make it easier and safer if we think about it.

I am so glad you are working on becoming stronger every day . Just know your self and go at it slowly but surely.

Tried walking around the house without too much help from my care givers. In fact other than my morning shower managed going to the bathroom my self the entire day. The new grab bars helped. Feeling more dignified.

GOT MY BLOOD WORK DONE.
ALSO SIGNED UP FOR IMPROVING OUR BALANCE CLASSES AT SENIOR CENTER. KEEPING ON TOP OF THINGS IS SUPER IMPORTANT.

Pat, on reviewing my activities for the day, there was nothing I did to be proud of--didn't exercise. BUT, this topic did start me thinking about exercise and food intake for tomorrow. HOWEVER, I did eat one serving of veggies and two of fruit, and NO CANDY!

The neurologist today recommended exercise, good sleep habits, certain supplements, meditation and visualization to prevent or relieve my ocular migraines. That was good news.

I can't be proud of myself but I did go to a brunch where I met a lot of new friends, prayed for one who had a birthday and felt the spirit of the Lord moving and she said I was a blessing. It is the Lord who blesses but I am glad He saw fit to use me.

As usual, got up and did worship, and headed to the gym for Zumba class for an hour. Came home and worked with an Alzheimer patient for 3 hours. Made Sri Lanka foods for their dinner too. Now trying to finish my other works before my fiancé’s call.

Practice serious wellness ....
The best way to avoid and resolve many chronic health condition is to be too healthy to have them!

Thursday- April 8
For me- We got up this morning at 6:00 to drive off to another town to watch our beautiful granddaughter compete in a tennis tournament-THEN came home and worked out this afternoon.
