Hi Ree! You know the beans used to affect me the same way.! But since being on the Dr. Fuhrman eating plan I can truthfully say I no longer suffer from the gassiness or bloating at all

. As for the greens, I never used to eat them purposely either -so don't know.

But of course I never previously ate predominately fruits and veggies , grains, seeds and nuts either!

I just know now that I feel 100% better than before. And so does DH.

Can I ask how you cope with greens and beans without their embarrassing side effects ? I get terribly bloated after eating them , and yes very gassy ! Help please . Ree

Eat a Nutritarian Diet.

large salad daily
At least 3 fruits daily
One ounce daily of nuts and seeds
One large serving of steamed veggies
Include at least 1/2 cup beans/legumes in soup, salad or main dish daily.

It is working for us.

Pat your life is truly a testimony and i pray I have the same one. I watched my parents go through so many medical problems and slowly lose their independence I want to do everything I can to prevent that in my life. You and the others on this team are truly amazing. emoticon

Great goals, BRAZILNUT2--
I agree., We get regular checkups too, DH his heart MEDS, , Me my Thyroid MEDS , both of us our baby aspirin,
He sleeps like a log, I wake up at 3:00- do my potty run, drink my water and go back to sleep TIL 7:00, we both eat til we are full. ( almost all high nutrient foods and relatively low calorie)
and we too are thankful to our God every day for our good health.
I will be 87 and DH 89. Soon. .He works "like a horse" :) every day-he is my yard man , and gardener , and just built a wonderful deck out our kitchen door and gave it 3 coats of paint. We got to use it for first time yesterday.
. I do all my own cleaning, cooking and workout daily on stationary bike and elliptical.
We hope to stay healthy and active as long as possible .
That is our plan to stay healthy.

Having regular check-ups, taking meds every day at proper time, getting enough sleep, exercising every day for 30 minutes, eating moderately, and being at peace with God and man have all contributed to my longevity so far. These are all things I observed in my parents, as well, who lived to be 91 and 94.

Life changes all the time, I think if we accept these changes , adapt to them without regrets we then can feel a lot more relaxed . That's my strategy. Ree emoticon

I agree and I am thankful I can do them. I am in a cleaning/purging mode year.My garage is at the top of my list and every time I go to moms house I do whatever needs to be done in her home.

Do as much of your own house work and cooking as possible.
I look on these chores as a blessing to keep me moving as long as possible.
Cleaned house all morning-we are squeaky clean again:)

Keep up with your annual medical checkups to catch any potential problems BEFORE they are started too late to fix!

Keep all your medical records in one safe place so as to be able later to give your doctors accurate information to base your treatments on.

Make taking your meds easier and more accurately by investing in a weekly dispenser box with Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner and Evening choices.

Drink a full glass of water with each intake .

Aerobic Exercise 5 days a week- Monday through Thursdays? 30 min. of walking or using a machine

Strength Training-2 days a week-Mondays and Fridays?
8 to 10 exercises, 8 to 12 reps each

Flexiblity and Stretching- 2 to 3 days a week-Tues., Thurs. and posssibly Sat.?

Friday- July 10-
I, Pat , will do 30 min. Aerobic---- Done
