Oldest daughter and granddaughter took Brandy for a walk with their Alex, good thing they were close to our house when the storm broke, that was the loudest clap of thunder i have ever heard!! The lights did blink but stayed on.
Mayber, I am so glad you have a lot of support. I can remember how stressful it was taking care of my mom. You need to be sure you get your rest I hope DH has lots of good days for you all to enjoy.
i started posting food again and no more milk and cookies!! I am going to do a few exercises before i go to bed. I am afraid to do much for fear that nerve in that ham string will get worse. I sure am tired of living with it.
Our weather has been cool again but i don't mind, it didn't even get to 70 today. I better get to the exercises. take care, Georgine emoticon

Thanks CaptainMorgan2 so nice to see your post
Peanut butter is one of my staples however like mine with toast which is sometimes a negative come weigh in time
We are having a break from the hot and humid weather right now but really need rain
Have to admit am exercise is very low on my priority list
Caring for my DH is very stressful and thank God for every day that He allows us to spend together cherishing the good day and coping with the not so good
Have a great support from three of our children and three of our grandchildren
We are blessed

Mayber,i have been enjoying celery with peanut butter for a snack. I don't measure the peanut butter either but don' think a little extra or less if going to make me fatter or skinnier. Just enjoy the 2 together. It is cold here this morning and is still storming as it did all nite so we will have oatmeal with blueberries, my hubby's favorite. I may have said I ordered exercise bands from Amazon and just received an instruction book to go with from Amazon. It has some rehabilitating suggestions also so hope to strengthen this ole body some. My doctor had these bands demonstrated at his weight management class in the winter and he uses them. He also demonstrated the ball, I will wait on trying that one til my ham string is healed. Just trying to stay in shape in general plus have the have the other knee done and know that recovery requires arm and leg strength which I had prepared for plus losing weight. Just sharing a few thoughts. Going to be in the 60s today and more storms, this sweat suit feels great! Georgine emoticon emoticon emoticon

Mayber, i am not the one to advise maybe as have trouble with it myself. Here goes, in the summer it is all about walking for me. I love to be outside tho i sure miss my dog but I am doing it. I started buying veggies and fruit plus crackers and cheese and light yogurt. I take celery and put peanut butter in it, put fruit in my cereal, i am a Cheerios lover and i do try and drink the water. My worst time is in the evenings so i bought almonds to snack on, i may go over the amount but think it is better than candy. I also garden. If i remember more i will send it on. And keeping busy always helps tho part of my relaxation is reading. Georgine emoticon

I have added a 'Trivia Challenge' to the group. It has been very successful in a small private group to which I belong. Trivia is a great learning tool for Sparkers, even wrong answers and/or guesses get a response from Spark with the correct answers and a brief explanation. I have found that the Trivia questions and the quizzes are great learning tools for those of us that are still learning the SparkPeople lifestyle. The quizzes and the Trivia questions also earn points, 5 and 3 points respectively.

The biggest drawback to doing trivia is the learning curve involved. SparkPeople offer a trivia prize for anyone able to end the month with an overall score of 90% or more correct answers. It took me over a year to end up with a correct score above 90%, but I learned a lot of helpful information along the way.............

So far, only CAPTAINMORGAN2 has joined the challenge with me, but my hope is that more will join!

I haven't done well today either but had planned to relax and enjoy whatever and get it out of my system. I never start on the first as have learned thru the years my mind still thinks we are on holiday time. Whatever you gals have time for I will try my best to do a good job. I have said on other teams i like the one week challenges too for water, 10 minute exercises, etc. Also the last fruit or vegie you ate, keeps one accountable. Whatever you gals can do, thank you!! Thanks Georgine! I haven't had the time to set it up for Jan. as I had planned on. I am thinking I may run it for a two week stint the 3rd and 4th week of the month and get us back into it. I want to have lots of participation but please don't sign up if you are not committed to working with it throughout the posted time. Will that work for a start time?

Bring us more ideas to get us chatting and having fun while working towards our goals!!

Have a fantastic new year and let's all stay on our chosen path. How did you do on day 1?. emoticon Me? emoticon Terrible but hoping to be back on track tomorrow. emoticon

I liked the first challenge we did where we entered everything for the month, i think i mentioned it to Jamer already. i know it is a lot of work and sometimes frustration when people don't know how to post it. I liked adding up points too. can't think of anything else just now. Georgine
