We feel so blessed, as my husband still has his job. He is a heavy equipment mechanic for Volvo and all the other major competitors (Caterpillar, Komatsu, John Deere, etc.) are laying people off like crazy, but so far so good. The girl I babysit for has been hit with her husband (who happens to work for Caterpillar) getting "laid off" for two weeks out of every month. I feel so bad for them, especially since their baby is just 14 or so weeks old. I thank God we are not faced with this yet, and I'm not sure what we would do if my husband was to get laid off. PRAY mostly lol!

I've by no means arrived, but praise the Lord, I've set sail!

My Boyfriend was laid off from his construction job the middle of last month. Money has been really tight but we take it on day at a time.

I'm so sorry about your friend...
My husband works for Boeing and was just informed that there will be layoffs in February and again in March...I'm really nervous that he might be one of them...I dont know how we will survive if he is layed off.

I just found out today that a good friend of mine was cut from full time to part time. I felt so bad for her. She's getting married in May and now she's being 'weeded' out of a job. She is an event planner for a company and since their business is bad and the economy, she's not needed as much. They need her to plan company meeting Luncheon's but other than that, nothing. We were going through a rough point when my husband was working as a painter, but by the grace of God he found another job and it's salary and it seems business is really good right now. Before then, it was horrible. In fact, we still have yet to catch up on all of our bills that we are behind!

How is everyone else's job? How has the economy effected you? Let's get it off our chests!!
