I too have taken pretty much all the supplements there have been from metabolife to fat burners...the only thing I think "helped" was that I was more aware of what I was eating while taking them...But that said if you really want to lose weight being aware of what you eat is the first step right :) Most of those pills just gave me that weird too much caffeine feeling and I'm not sure they really helped my weight loss... I am now taking biotin on a recommendation for skin and hair issues, it's a really inexpensive vitamin and it's supposed to speed up your metabolism, but I haven't noticed anything. I feel like just staying on track with the tried and true "eat less, move more" works best for me :)
All diet pills did ever was make me feel sick constantly...Yes it made me eat less but only because I felt nauseous...and to me it is not worth that.
Supplements are great though! Even when I eat healthy foods sometimes I come up short with all of my vitamins and it's nice to take a supplement each day to know I'm getting everything I need to help my body function as best as it can!

Is there any thing that helps really??? I think my issues with loosing weight is my birth control and if i go off that well then i gain weight for 9 more months lol, i hope to lose weight before i have another child and my body is screaming baby since my youngest is 2 now lol

I just wanted to congratulate you on realizing what takes some women forever to: DIET PILLS DON'T WORK! I used to take everything under the sun (metabolife included), and then I saw my members take everything under the sun, and guess what? NO ONE LOST ANY WEIGHT! In fact, I think it actually KEPT us from losing weight because we felt "invincible" under the shield of our "100% guaranteed" weight loss!
Yes, it takes a long time to take off weight, but nothing worth having comes easy. That's why we're here together - to give each other support, encouragement, and for you today, a well-deserved pat on the back!

I remember when Metabolife was the rage... that was dangerous stuff! I'm scared off by supplements. I can see taking vitamins like zinc to help with immune system, B5 for energy, whatever, as needed of course, but diet aids? Nope... they terrify me. There are too many problems that have erupted from stuff that was no FDA approved, and, Lord only knows what damage it does to you that you can't see! I'll just tackle the weight loss obstacle the old fashioned way...diet and exercise, as frustrating as that can be sometimes since it takes sooooo long. :(
I have quite a bit of experience with diet aids, both having taken them myself and dealing with them while I was a personal trainer. In the 6 years I worked in health clubs, I never saw anyone, including myself, lose any more weight with them than without. Of course, it never stopped me from buying whatever latest greatest one was out there ;)
Fast forward 7 years and I can say that doing it this way (eating less, paying attention to what I eat as much as the amount I am eating, and of course moving more) has yielded better results that have been thus far permanant.
And, oh yeah, I totally agree with Slim-Fast making you hungry! I was starving all day, except I had this feeling like I had a brick in my belly all day, and it made me gassy, too LOL!

My husband and I got married in Vegas 3 1/2 years ago. His mother wants us to do it in the church, but in order to do that I need to do my confirmation, which I will be doing in May, but now I find out in order to do my confirmation I need to be married in the church first which means we need to do it before May. We were actually hoping to do it for our 5yr anniversary but guess it's not going to work out that way...so I need to lose the weight fast, if not all of it then atleast 15 more pounds. :)
I know it's not a great idea to take diet pills, but I'm just so desperate. Especially when I just found out I need to fit into a wedding dress by April, ugh...I've been taking Hydroxycut for about 1 month now, i think it's helped me lose the weight faster. It does not affect the way i eat. I still have five meals a day and I exercise. It's suppose to help lose more calories when exercising, and i definitely think it's working. You're to take 2 3x daily but I only take 2 a day before I exercise.

I have always taken prenatal vitamins because you have to have the folic acid in your system prior to getting pregnant. Of course, it took me eight years to get pregnant with my son. I continued on the prenatal vitamins while nursing and am still taking them (now to finish them off). We tried for baby #2 for over a year, and now at 41, it is time to stop. I just wanted another baby so my son could have a sibling, but I guess it wasn't meant to be. I belong to a great TTC site and that helped a lot with my TTC journey. Now my focus is going to lose weight.
Today wasn't so good since I started with a pop tart, but I think of you ladies (even though I haven't really gotten to know anyone yet) and it does help me feel motivated.
Today I discovered that I have Spark Mail! There is just so much to see on the website!

Well... not really. We decided that we are going to start trying for another a baby soon, so I'm starting the prenatal early this time. Last time I waited until I was pregnant and the doctor said it is a good idea to start them once you are trying... so I am. Nothing happening yet... but we would like to start trying this year!!

This time of year you see a lot of ads for diet pills or supplements to help lose the weight that everyone vowed to lose for a New Year's Resolution. I think I saw that dang Slim Quick commercial 20 last night... Does anyone use pills or supplements? What is everyone's feelings on them?
Personally, I don't agree with them. I'm afraid they are unhealthy. I had at one time considered using Alli, but there are so many side effects that don't seem worth it to me. So I decided to keep doing what I'm doing. One-A-Day vitamin has a weight management or weight control daily vitamin, but I don't know anyone who has used it to know if it is worth it. And right now i'm going back to prenatal vitamins anyway, so I wouldn't use them right now.
Tell me what you think... I think this new forum could be alot of fun.....
