When my husband and I were dating, we had sort of a tradition that I had forgotten to mention! Every year, the evening before Thanksgiving, we would go to this place called Santa's Magical Kingdom (it's a drive-thru Christmas lights display... it is unbelieveable! They say there are a million lights!) and we would go out to dinner. Last year was the first time in 8 years that we didn't do that. There was just too much happening with having a new baby, and both of my grandma's were dying and in the hospital. So we just didn't do it. Well, last wednesday, Nathan took me and Austin out... dinner wasn't a nice place like it used to be, instead it was Denny's, but nothing wrong with that. He wants to keep our tradition going!!

We don't really have any, but now that we have a new baby, we are starting some this year. Every year I try to get the boys involved in doing things, but they put up a fuss and so I'm leaving them out of it - I'm too tired to argue with them!

We're going to put up our Christmas decorations this weekend, and luckily for me, we only have a tree that sits on top of the entertainment center, so I won't have to worry about Aaron getting into it!

ya, last year Mirabella was 1 1/2 so she was curious but slow so i could stop her- now shes crazy fast and sneaky!!! i also have a 6month old now and Mirabella is always near her- im afraid of her giving Adalia something too small to chomp on... this is gonna be FUN!!!
good luck! i think im going to choose big ornaments and plastic ones-less on the bottom half of the rtree too!!! LOL it will be a barer tree but at least we will have one up!! haha!!

I was worried about the same thing. Last Christmas Austin was only 4 months old and not at all mobile! This year... oh lord... I have no clue what to expect!! Good luck to you... and wish me luck too!!

we dont start till dec 1st
ths lights, tree etc...
it will be interesting this year with a 2 yr old needing to touch everything!!!lol
i guess our tree will be bare the lower branches...

The day after Thanksgiving always and faithfully put all my Christmas decorations out... including the tree. Then Christmas eve we have done dinner in our home since we got married... so this will be the 5 Christmas and anyone from either side of the family is invited to that... it usually is only my family though! Then Christmas morning we have presents and a nice Breakfast and then it's off to which ever family gets the pleasure of having us for Christmas! My husband and I have gone to one lights display every Christmas since we first started dating... we have no intentions on stopping that now that we have a little guy... infact... I'm super excited about Christmas this year!

Was just curious about holiday traditions? Please share.

Growing up my family didn't really have any, except a specific smoked turkey that to this day I have to have or it just isn't a holiday. As I've gotten older I realize that I missed that during my childhood. Since my first child each Christmas Eve we make sugar cookies and decorate them for Santa, and we make hot cocoa. This past year I have tried to have a special dinner party for each holiday that comes up through the year. It has been fun.
