at the moment I'm at 19,705 sparkpoints...
Didn't realize I had gooten so many points and am now so far behind, guess I might hafta catch up a little bit!
--I dropped a little bit (very little bit) of spare change in the Salvation Army Kettle this morning as I left Shopko...
--While at Walgreen's this afternoon, I bought 2 cheap coloring books and put them in the Toys For Tots collection bin.

I'll have to think of something to do for tomorrow.

I started this sunday at 19,380 sparkpoints (keep in mind I've been on SP over 3 years. and this is not at all about how many sparkpoint we have!)

as of this morning I have 19,497--- just over 100 since Sunday.

My good deed was helping pay for a birthday present a friend of mine wanted to get for another friend yesterday.

In thinking about it, 500 points is probably a little too high. I was thinking of some members who seem to earn over 100 points per day (and even for them to would take a couple days to earn 500!).

I would like this challenge to be something a little easier than that! such that we would be doing something for others every other day or couple days.

I would also like this to be a challenges that encourages people to participate here on SP as they are able (which is how we earn Sparkpoints).

SO, I'm rethinking the # of Sparkpoints to earn before doing a good deed.

What about offering a choice?

maybe have the 'goal' be 100 points for those who aren't as active on SP or don't for whatever reason earn a whole lot of points, and maybe have the 'goal' be 200 points for those who are able to be more active? and of course, each individual person get to pick if they want to try for 100 or 200. It is completely up to them, and what they know they are able to do. No one here is better or worse than anyone else becuase they can or can't do something :)

I was just sitting here reading some posts (from this team & others), and thought of a possible idea for a challenge, and want to see what you guys think/ if anyone else wants to join me.

I've always thought that the 'loose a pound, donate a pound of food', or those 'loose a pound, add a $ to your savings jar' that some groups do, especially this time of year sound cool, but seeing as though I only loose 1 lb about every 3 months, i didn't ever want to join a challenge I knew I wouldn't be able to have much success in. Not to mention I can't afford much.
So, I was just sitting here and thought of something similar, but I think we could all do...

My idea is:
for every so many SparkPoints, say 500, a person earns, then that person does something for someone else.

Whatever the person does for someone else is completely up to them. It could be giving someone a Sparkgoodie, donating a few cents to charity, making cookies for someone, giving an extra hug, anything like that.
I know as caregivers, our lives are filled with giving to others, and there are days where our caregiving responsibilties take up every aspect of our day. On days like that, that would count for this challenge, but I think it would be nice to, if and when possible, do things for others that we don't do on a normal basis. It could also be doing something a little extra for those we care for or other family members, like maybe giving a back or foot rub if we haven't for a while, or painting their fingernails, something like that.

What do you guys think?
