I've been exercising daily. We've been snowed in for about 10 days and I am *not* a stay-at-home person. I've been sort of stir-crazy and being at home this long means I've been on-call-mom for this long. So I've discovered snow shoveling. Its wonderful because it meets my need to accomplish something and I can have some quiet alone-time while I'm doing it.
It's helped me lose a little weight too.

Kate

good job! What's the saying, 'maintianing during the holidays is just liek lossing any other time of the year'.

I was down 1 lb the Monday after thanksgiving, I was so happy. I had finally broken out of a stall, and was happy to see a loss during the Holidays.

Well.... somewhere during the week of the 8th- 15 I put back on 6-7 lbs! (TOM eneded the 8th, so it didn't have much to do with that). I don't think I done much different than before, jeez. I'm sure part of it is water weight, and part of it is thanks to constipation. I'm doing what I can about the last one, the first one I will work on after Chirstmas is over.

I have been able to do some type of exercise every day this week. Not much, but something. That's an improvement for me, I was so tired because of my Sleep Apnea that I felt I couldn't do any, now it seems that doing just a little helps me sleep better (can't go wrong with that!)

I'm still hanging in there at about the same weight as I was before thanksgiving (my goal is not to gain during the holidays) even though I've had some pretty stressful days.

Usually I engage in eating as many sweets and holiday treats as possible. So far I have been very disciplined this year. I'm trying to remind myself what it does to my body.

Other than at Christmas parties, I plan on eating as normally as possible. I will pass along as many goodies that arrive on my doorstep as possible.

At the two Christmas parties I have to go to, will eat veggies & protien & small portions of the other stuff. One of these parties is pot luck, so I will choose only the dessert(s) that I really want (not one of each dessert:)).

And I will do what exercise I can :).

I will also probably be chewing gum to keep my mouth occupied.
One of the tips on biggest Looser last week was that if you chew sf gum before eating sweets, you're less likely to over-indulge on sweets.

Well that seems really positive-My game plan is to try and keep the stress down, which in turn will help keep the food out of my mouth

Now that the holidays are here once again, what is your game plan for dealing with them? And what are you going to do to help you stick to your game plan. Plans are all well and good, but don't mean anything if you don't stick to them (or modify them as needed) can you imagine trying to construct a house without sticking to blue prints??

My game plan is to stay even. I'm not going to kill mysel trying to lose weight over the next 4 weeks. But if I can stay even, I will be starting off the new year 10 pounds less than I weighed this past summer. and since I usually GAIN at least 5 pounds but more often 10 pounds, staying even will be GREAT for me.

So how am I going to accomplish that?

Well I plan on eating what I want, but doing so in MODERATION. and as soon as I get the ok from my doctor, I plan to start back exercising. not doing alot, but maybe a walk every couple of days.

All the so called "secrets of success"will not work ... unless you do.
