This morning I found the Summary Calendar and I think it will be a useful tool to review my progress.

Under MyTrackers/Reports and then go to the Weight section, somewhere around the middle. It shows a calendar with calories, sparkpoints, fitness minutes daily.

Becky are you trying any type of meditation/mental relaxation to go with all the cardio? Even ten minutes can really help!

Went back to basics and lost all 15 pounds gained when we moved MIL and Aunt into our home. Sure was happy to see the number on the scale so low. Now, I need to lower my stress level. . . any ideas?

I workout on my total gym 4 morning a week, attend 3 kung fu classes each week and two tia chi classes each week but still feel coped up and trapped in the house.

I'm whinning. Sorry.

Becky

Okay, so I've been having trouble the past 3 weeks or so living this healthy lifestyle, and I'm thinking I need to get back to basics. This is what worked for me in the beginning:

drinking 8 glasses of water daily
tracking food
staying within my nutrition boundaries

Simple, right? Now I've kind of complicated things and made it more of a chore than it needs to be. And I'm blaming the parental units for my lack of planning! That is so not right. So here's to keeping it simple!

ooohhh, tha's a good idea.... thanks for sharing! Sounds like fun!

I myself can't have sugar free stuff, but if I were to make those with regular Jello, they probably still wouldn't be too bad, as long as you stick with just one or two.

If you are going to holiday parties and worried about having a healthy treat other than the usual veggie trays, whip up a batch of sugar free jello jigglers to take along with you.

This time of year you can usually get free molds for them along with purchasing a couple of boxes of jello and the instructions are right on the box or at their website.

it's summertime now here in the Northern Hemisphere!
How is everyone doing?
Anything anyone need help with?
Anyone have suggestions they want to share?
Summer is often great because of fresh fruits & veggies, and decent weather, but being able to get out & exercise when it's too hot outside can be a challenge (especially when those we care for are sensitive to heat)

I was asking how things are going weightloss/ food wise, for anyone who may be struggling with that, especailly with the holidays coming up.
Sorry for the confusion!

I agree, it at least in part could be from the medications.

Just two other comments-

Are you not much of a breakfast eater? I can't remember if you've siad before that you don't eat a whole lot for breakfast or not. I know people are different as far as how much to eat at breakfast (some can get by on just a little, some have to eat more).
I myself am a big breakfast eater (for example, 1 banana muffin, 1 pancake w/ sf syrup, & 1 hard boiled egg is what I had for breakfast today, and I often also have more fruit).
Me, if I were to just have oatmeal, I'd be hungry an hour later.
So, I wonder if the oatmeal is enough to get your metabolism going in the morning, or maybe adding in just one more thing might help with that... I don't know.

My other comment is that I really don't see a whole lot of veggies (other than the lean cuisine, which is probably only 1 serving of veggies). adding a salad or other veggie at dinner will help fill you up with out a whole lot of calories.

Hang in there! Just keep doing what you gotta do to take care of yourself, even if the @#$&% scale isn't cooperating! you can do it!

my first thought is that it is related to your thyroid issues and meds. I know it sucks.

are you drinking enough water?

What do you eat in a typical day?
are you tracking your food intake every day, to see if you are in calorie range?
What are you doing for exercise?

I have lost 16 lbs. I have been watching what I eat. I do exercise by working in the garden and Painting walls or cleaning them. My problem is I dont drink enough water. That is my goal, more water.

Stormy, are you tracking your food? If not, that would be a great place to start. If you only eat 1500 calories a day and burn 1500 calories a week there's at least a pound a week.

on one of our teams, we are doing a "keep it simple" september challange. finding one thing to do during the month to can make a difference.

what I chose was limiting drinking my wine to one or two glasses a week. I know for myself that even if I fit the wine into my calories, I don't lose if I drink. it changes how my body processes calories.

I thought it would be a good idea to have a separate thread just for us to share our weight loss tips, and maybe if someone is needing an idea with something specific to weight loss, they can request it here as well.

My weight loss tips (gotta hurry here, may add more later):

Don't expect yourself to be perfect! WHEN you slip up, get back on the bandwagon as soon as you can!

Just do the best you can, that's all that matters.

Take it one day, or even one meal at a time!

Let's see, others--- don't go shopping on an empty stomach. (eat before you go)
Have healthy snacks available

everyone, feel free to share more tips!
