oh... whoops. I've been a little mia with the whole back to school chaos so I've missed out on that stuff. I will have to take a look. If you're happy with it, then it's all good. Just caught me by surprise is all!

I don't have a membership and haven't for years. I do stuff with my family to try and stay active.

Shay,

My husband and I decided to cancel our membership. I wrote a big blog about it, because the decision was beating me up so bad. I think, after thinking it all out, we made a good choice.

Who? Me (and maybe it's time to start including my husband
and daughter on some things too at a level they are comfortable with)

What? Losing my first big chunk of weight, 60lbs by breaking it
up into smaller chunks. I need to keep my eating in check (especially under
our living circumstances) and work out regularly.
This also means trying
new exercises, so my body doesn't get used to what I've been doing.

When? 60lbs gone by April 2015

Where? At home, around others, dining out, and at the gym

Why? To set a good example for my daughter and husband, to maintain
the good health I already have and eventually have more children

emoticon Measurable

How much? Losing 4-5lbs a month would be great, but I need
to keep in mind this does not equal 1lb a week, because there are bad
weeks and good weeks.

How many? I am comfortable with eating anywhere from 2000 to
2500 calories, because if I eat that (or less, less is always good) I am
still seeing results

How much? I'm aiming for gym visits 6 times a week, and
going to try to incorporate more exercise at home too using
Fitbit and buying a set of dumbbells

What are the tools that are going to help make this happen?

1. Sparkpeople tools-
2. My gym support system and making time to go to the gym
3. My SmartPhone I have books and TV shows that are also motivating.
4. My husband's support and love
5. My scale, because it's not really the enemy anymore
6. Will-Power and Self Confidence

Am I willing and able to word towards my goals?

I am going to keep myself motivated because I know I can do this.
When obstacles get in the way such as illness or stress and I
admit I have a bad day,
I will get right back up and make the results that I want to see happen!

My biggest obstacle that hinders my every attempt in this journey is alcohol. I read an article today that stated something along the lines of "one glass of wine may benefit mental health, however, too much may indicate that there are mental health issues/depression"

I DO have depression, dealing with it through medication and fitness now. I like a glass of wine or 2 on a good night. However, many nights is up to 2 bottles with my husband, especially when it is a very rough day.

My September goal is to manage that stress better without turning to alcohol to feel good and learn to be aware of what is truly causing my bad habit to continue. This will also be much better on my wallet too since we spend approximately $300/month on booze... emoticon
