My favorite exercise is walking too.... it gives me the time to reflect on my life and the beauty around me. I feel great after a walk.

My favorite exercise is walking. I wish that was all I had to do to keep in shape b/c I could easily walk 10 miles a day. I do a minimum of 4 miles a day, buty usually closer to 6. Love staying fit by going about my daily business, lol.

The 30 Day Shred is a close second. It really is a total body workout, and although it is intense it is over quickly and very effective.

Hope you all have a nice day!

Today's Challenge of The Day (April 20th), is to tell us what your favorite exercise is - and why? We may not have tried that particular exercise - so this is one more way we can learn from each other.

You are all amazing - keep up the great work!

For today's Challenge of the Day (April 19th) - let's try Alternating Dumbbell Bicep Curls. If you do not have any dumbbells, you can use soup cans, water bottles, etc. Let's shoot for a minimum of 2 reps of 15.

Here is a link to show you how it is done:

I did 30 on each side also, and it felt great. I should do this daily, maybe 1st thing in the morning.

This is a neat exercise. I'd never tried it before. I did 30 on each side. Thanks!

The trackers are the best! I would be lost without them.

But sometimes in the afternoon, when I'm hungry and the girls are fussy and we're stuck in the house, I like to read the popular blog posts of the day. http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_popular_
blogs.asp. There is almost always a major success story. And that, plus seeing that other people are going through the same struggles too, can help me get my attitude back on track so I finish the day strong.

Today's Challenge of the Day (April 14th) is something I have never tried. It looks like it might be difficult...we shall see. We will be doing Modified Side Planks. The demo says basically to start out with 30 seconds then work your way up to 1-3 minutes. I say...if you have never done this before...just do your best. Stay up as long as you can....

Let us know what you think and how it turned out.

Here is the link to the demo:

My two year-old loves The Very Hungry Caterpillar by Eric Carle. We just read it twice before bath time.

My childhood favorite was Miss Suzy the Squirrel. I'll have to look it up sometime and see if it is still available.

Have a great evening!

My 2 year old's favorite book is "My Little Princess" (recorded book) read by Grandma. She can't get enough of that one.

My older kids (12 and 16) have so many....

My favorite book is a Golden Book "The Monster At The End Of This Book". It is a classic. My aunt used to read it to my cousin and myself...and she was so animated. I have tried to pass that same animation and love on all of my kids.

My oldest daughter's favorite book changes frequently but lately she has been asking for "I'll Love You Forever." She has it memorized and thinks she is "reading" it, so I think that's why, lol.

My youngest has been asking for "Good Night Sweet Butterflies: A Color Dreamland."

My favorite children's book...I can't pick just one! How about my favorite children's author. I LOVE Eric Carle.

Hope everyone has a nice day!

Today's Challenge of the Day (for April 11th) is to name the book that is your child(ren)s favorite. And as a bonus - what is your favorite childrens book?

I think it will be nice to share, so we may see some books we have never heard of - and then we can share with our kid(s).

Happy Monday!

My goal for the forward lunge is going to be 30 on each side. This may kill me...we will see.

The compliment challenge...I complimented the waitress at the bowling alley - she didn't even respond. It was so hard for me to put it out there and her response was "nothing". I don't want to let one person bring me down, so I will do this one again. I know it will make someone's day!

I know this sounds like a pat on my own back but it's really not. I always go up to random ppl and start conversations and compliment where I can. My husband thinks that I'm so weird, but I love to meet new ppl, and being with the kids all day, I CRAVE ADULT CONVERSATION! All I can say is I gotta be me!

I tried to compliment the woman who took my daughters portraits today, but it kind of fell flat. I loved the challenge, though. It forced me to be a little more outgoing.

Today's Challenge of the Day for April 7th is to compliment a stranger. Have you ever been out say at the grocery store, and some random person says they like your shoes? How did that make you feel? When you can bring a smile to someone's face, it does so much for you! It can be an amazing feeling. Here are some compliments that you might want to use: "You have a great smile" - if you can find anyone who smiles nowadays :)...Love your shoes, earrings, etc. , What a great laugh!!! I know this challenge may seem hard...but I think it is worth it. Let me know what you think about it and how it turns out.

I got 60. Crunches are harder than I remember! I wonder if that's because I haven't done any since I got pregnant for the second time? (That baby is 10 months old now.) Oops.....

I loved both of your quotes. Right now, I am attempting to follow the advice of Winston Churchill: "Never, never, never, never give up."

"Whether we're on the path toward victory or defeat is determined by the very next choice we make. Not the choices from yesterday. Not the choices from five minutes ago. The next choice." From Made to Crave by Lysa TerKeurst

PUNKINPIE178 - that is a great quote. I don't think enough people make their character count...did that make sense?

Keep picking yourself up and fight the good fight! emoticon

I just caught a guy saying this at the end of some show. I don't know his name, but he said "Character isn't what you do on the first try, but what you do on your seventh try." I really liked that. It made me remember that I may have tried this weight loss thing many times, and I may have my ups and downs, but I can reach my goals if I can keep picking myself up and putting myself back into the fight.

One of my favorite quotes (and its hanging on the wall above my monitor) - "You miss 100% of the shots you never take" - Wayne Gretzky

We need to take chances - whether it be with some adventure we want to take, or with our daily lives - taking that chance to make the changes that will help us become healthier, happier and more energetic.

Take that shot emoticon

Today's Challenge of the Day is to read and share a motivational quote. Something that means the world to you - and might inspire others! Some days, we mom's, need a little extra "umph" given our way.

Today is a great day to achieve your goals - You CAN do it!~

Today's challenge is to do as many squats throughout the day as possible. Let's shoot for 50...can we do it? Sure we can.

Here is a link to show how to do squats properly (if you need it):

What a fun challenge! I just finished, and it made me feel so much better about my own day. Thanks so much for starting a daily challenge!
