I do have chickens. I had the same thing happen to one of mine a month or so ago. Have no idea what happened. My FIL says it is just nature weeding out the weeker ones?

On Wiley......Of course I want him to try to ride with a brace.....but again......I would rather he got his knee fixed.
Reasoning: Like Kody did, a partial fix, and it is just a few events in and he is already having to sit out on some. Better to fix it all the way & be out once than to keep having to take off every so often.

I have been staying away as I hadn't had time to watch the events yet. Finished up last night and a big WooHoo to Austin. He did really well. JW seems to think he has a really good chance at the iron man event. Stormy's landing was awful to see. Hope he walks away with nothing worse than a concussion. And how about Wiley tearing his ACL (I think it was) in his knee. JW mentioned something about wearing a bace to still be able to compete. I wonder if he will?
Un PBR related - Do any of you have chickens? One of my girls was dead on her nest when I went down last night. After my stop here I am going to google chickens. I was just wondering if a chicken can get egg bound like a lizard. Or have heart attacks? All my girls are pretty young, just under a year. No signs of distress or anything. They were all playing like normal earlier in the day. I was just looking for suggestions if anyone had any.

I too was delighted that Kody rode well.
I don't know what was going on with JB & Ryan M. They are normally alot better than they were this weekend. I hope Brian is doing okay. That was scary.

They have me mixed up with their airing. Anaheim rounds 1 & 2 on VERSUS this weekend, rounds 3 & 4 on NBC this coming Saturday afternoon. Followed by Tampa on Versus Sat. & Sun. nights. It is a good thing that I can't get enough of the PBR :)

Paulo was a great rider but I would have to think long and hard about returning after the last two wrecks he had.
I was watching part of the anaheim event last night. Poor Brian Canter. He is another that just seems to keep getting slammed.
Was glad Kody rode finally.

Was bummed about JB. Not sure what happened.

On Paulo's return.......
He is a good bull rider with a good personality, so I would love to see him return.
BUT, he was seriously injured twice last year. I don't know if it will ever be SAFE for him to return.
I would hate for him to make a great come back and then get hurt [or worse] again.
I just hope he listens to the medical professionals.

Anehiem tonight & tomorrow-WooHoo !!!!!!!!

Take away a win? i hope that doesnt happen, just because there's no way Brian Canter won Tallahassee last year. I dont think that these situations can be rectified retro-actively. Going forward, i just hope the judging is more fair for everyone.

Wiley is definitely a wonderful PBR representative. i have come in direct contact with him several times now, and he is always very polite and very gracious. Tara and her friend call him Uncle Wiley! I wish her real uncle was like Wiley!

Just rec'd email from PBR team update and they had a judges review meeting and suspended one of the judges after the sacramento event. They say his judging was not consistent with the others on the Elliot ride. This guy scored him an 18 and the others all gave him 20 or more. And due to that the Elliot kid didn't win, he placed second. By 1/2 pt. On their forum everyone is calling for them to overturn the win. Take it from JB and give it to Elliot. It will be interesting to see how that plays out.
It was so much fun being there. I have to admit that the bulls are my favorite part. And Flint.
Seeing Nance hung up and being flung about for so long was very scary.
A friend of mine was in scaramento on saturday for a Friends of the NRA planning meeting. She's on the board for Amador county. Mr Wiley Peterson put in an appearance at the meeting. She was all jazzed as she has never been to any events and now she was able to meet him and get a hug and she just can't believe how polite and down to earth he was. He definately made a good impression at the meeting.

Talk away !!! I would love a ring side view :)

The whole event aired Saturday. Round 1 was on NBC, so it wasn't as long nor did it show as much.
Rounds 2 & 3 were on VERSUS & it lasted 3 hours !!!!
They actually showed the entire draft !!!!

I know who won & who didn't ride, but I want to hear what it was like being there in person.

By the way, our trip to Memphis in August is a 3 1/2 hour trip each way..we'll get a room.

Tara's off her game. We only watched a little more than the short go. The year is young, plenty of time for everybody to get settled in. And besides, i might not try so hard the year AFTER i'd won the world either! But i was surprised Kody wasnt in the top at the end.

Twenty weeks in a row-they've got a long road ahead.

Kathy,
You ought to be pleased, Shane Proctor won.
Did you see JB's short-go ride? That was something. To watch him ride the last 2 seconds on the side of the bull without touching the bull, hisself or the ground-WOW.
Kody isn't off to a good start this year? Maybe it has to do with the surgery.
Brian Canter started off good, but didn't make the short go. At least Wiley, Austin & Mike Lee did.

I forgot who said it, but one of the riders [Mike White-I think] said it had to do with agents/ managers getting the sponsors. And it was harder for them to get them on their own. The push seems to be more towards hiring coaches instead of agents/ managers. I don't know how that is going to work.

Great that you could sneak by Deenee.:)
I'll be going to Memphis to the PBR in August :)

Pick your jaw up! Yes, it's me! Stealing a minute of internet time while the supv is in a meeting. shhh.

I'm sad that this will be Mike White's last year. I wish him well.

JB & Kody?-same as Finals, either way, i'm good. I really do want to see JB take the title this year, though.

I dont expect to hear much on Dirteater. I think Dr. Tandy told him he'd be out most, if not all, of the year.

Does anybody know what happened to all the sponsors? I noticed Team Enterprise is down about 10 riders, and even Chris Shivers and JB have lost Copenhagen. What's up with that?

Oh, by the way, i ordered my tickets for Tampa Monday night! I'll be seeing the boys on the 30th!

On a Spark note, my DH has lost almost 90 pounds in 6 months since his gastric bypass. emoticon I gained about 10 over the holidays. But, i'm trying to get my eating under control emoticon , and started the 'Your Shape' wii game yesterday emoticon . I've set a modest goal to lose 40 pounds this year. emoticon

Hope you all have a great new year, and meet many of your goals! I'll check back in again someday! See ya emoticon

Lucky Lady !!!!
Less than 2 weeks till Sacremento !!!!
My SIL is sad because Mike White said that this will be his last year to compete.
Kody-vs-JB ??? I prefer Kody, Hubby prefers JB. Either way it goes, a great rider will win it all.
I really would like to see JB win the World Title this year. He deserves it.
No update on Ryan Dirteater. The last I heard was on that stupid show. They said he will be out most / all of this year due to multiple surgeries on his knee / leg.

I was bummed to see JB & Koby buck off. I was cheering for Ryan McConnell. I just really like that bleached blonde kid for some reason. Hubby just laughs at me. I was also glad Shane Proctor did well. Disappointed in Shivers and White though. Who do you think is going to win the buck off between Kody & JB? That was advertized as happening at the Sacramento event. I'll be at that one. I can't wait for the 15th & 16th. I didn't hear them mention anything, update wise, on Ryan Dirteater - did you?

Baltimore Short-Go........

Only 6 of 15 stayed on for the 8 seconds.
4 of those were Brazilians.
1-Valdiron De Oliveria
2-Guilherme Marchi
3-Robson Palermo
4-Ryan McConnell
5-Renato Nunes
6-Cody Campbell

Kody bucked off & JB didn't even make the short go.
Better luck to our favorites next week in New York !!

Kathy,
You like rodeos & bull riding, right?
You can check for airings on your remote. Just type in bull riding or rodeo. It will give you air dates, channels & times.
20X rodeo comes on channel 231 on Wednesday nights. It is only 30 minutes, but fun to watch.

I will be going to a PCA rodeo-the bottom of the food chain-on the 10th of Jan. Then a PRCA-the same as the NFR-in Feb. We decided to skip New Orleans in April & go to the PBR in Memphis in Aug.

HAPPY NEW YEAR...!!!!!!

If they are the same where you live, and Versus is on 151, then ESPN Classic will be on 143. It is the same channel that some of the WNFR was on.

I didn't like POSSEE at all. It made me lose respect for some of my favorite riders. I think I will have new favorites for the new year. I don't care fo the partiers.

It is my understanding that you have to earn so much $$$ to make it to the Built Ford Tough Tour.

The new guys to the tour come up from the PRCA, PCA, CBR, Enterprize, Discovery & Challenger Tours. Only the best of the best are on the BFT Tour.

Kasey, Zack, McKennon,etc...all came from the CBR/ NFR tours. The ones that get cut go back to these areas to build up earnings to get back on tour.

Check out ESPC Classic. They air lots of old CBR bull ridings. You will see that most of our guys started out there.

Just a little over 2 weeks till Baltimore !!!!!!

Okay - I saw the posse program and was unimpressed. I think Jessi & Shane Proctor came across the best. I have always liked Austin. Though his wife didn't seen to really care for her his line of work. I thought Hayes, Willingham and Canter all just came across as cocky playboys, which I thought was sad.

I have been watching the WNFR. I was very impressed with the barrel racers horse Mighty Man. That horse can fly. And the kid Hunter that was doing some steer roping and feet tieing was really quick. I will be watching the final round tonight. I noticed that Corey Navarre is in here in the bull riding. I was thinking that it has been awhile since I saw him on the PBR part. I wonder if he is doing this now and not the PBR?

My guess would be: Since it is in the USA this time & they like to have the biggest Events in Las Vegas, they had to schedule it when they could get the arena???
They tend to book those over a year in advance.

Yeah - I have just been busy. Guess now that I'm not watching the bulls I'll have time. I really need to as I am so tired of the info screen coming up every time I hit a button. I need to figure out how to turn that off.
Hope everyone out there has a Happy Thanksgiving.
I am now waiting impatiently for January.

Kathy,
The DVR & remote are not hard-believe me-I don't like remotes but find it easy. Try reading the users manual a couple of times. You will get used to it.

I am so glad you are on top of this. I actually fell asleep watching it and even though the unit said it was recording it when I went to watch the ending it hadn't been recorded.
I really don't like dish network. For some reason I am having a major learning curve with this DVR unit and remote. What's worse is I'm pretty sure it's 90% user error.

That puts him in first place going into the 2010 season. At least JB did good.

Sorry about not getting here more often. It seems that my time is not my own anymore. I saw finals and was way happy for Kody. He had his surgery on his elbow and is doing well the update said.
Also just read that they had to put the bull Apollo down. He had been a contender for finals and was supposed to be there but had injured himself the week before at another event. Apparently he just bucked really hard and did a number on his back. They thought he was getting better and then bam the vets all said he took a turn for the worse.
I really, really like the bulls. That's what first caught my eye.

The buckle is the only thing i dont know about!!!
Did you hear the story JW told about some woman coming to his house to see the one he won last year!!!

Girls!!!!! The first weekend of finals was FABULOUS!!! Tara and I had a BLAST!

If you want to look me up on facebook, I'm Deenee Logston. I've got a link there to my pictures on Snapfish, but i'm going to try and figure out how to upload them directly to facebook.

I got sick on the way home from Vegas, and lost 5 pounds last week!!! Didnt gain any while we were gone-we walked EVERYWHERE!!! Vegas is HUGE!

Right now, i'm doing the protein shakes again, since i lost 10 the last time i did that, and i've got a Disney cruise in 5 weeks!!! I want to be at least where i was last year (need to lose 10 by then)

I wish i could get on here like i used to. Im sneaking right now. Miss you!

Good news. . . there's a Challenger event in Atlanta in 2 weeks!

emoticon emoticon emoticon to Kody & JB.

Kody is now The World Champion for 2009.
JB won the Finals Title & was the 1st rider EVER to cover all 8 of his bulls at the finals-a new record.

Code Blue made bull of the year, I was for Big Tex.

Did I hear right ???? Caleb Sanderson won Rookie of the year ?? Not Cody Nance or Pete Farley???

This was the most exciting World Finals, or event, that I have ever had the pleasure to watch. I have enjoyed all of it.

It was G-Man that got the buckle? Right????

Still neck-n-neck between Kody & JB.

NOW-CAN YOU BELIEVE THIS??????
Guilherme-Zack-Wiley-Renato-Skeeter & Chris have all gotten bucked off of all 4 bulls ??????? What is going on with those great riders ????

3 are 4 for 4.
4 are 3 for 4.
6 are 2 for 4.
16 are 1 for 4.
11 are 0 for 4.

They say that the judges can't tell enough about the bulls if they buck the rider off too quick. They like to see them get bucked off between 6 & 7.8 seconds. More like Wiley's attempts.

Ignore that last one. Not sure where my brain is sometimes. It was just wishfull thinking for JB to win all of them. And hubby standing in my office blabing at me while I'm trying to think and type doesn't help. I Had my bulls mixed up. Black Pearl won not Black Smoke. How do you feel about not scoring the bulls very high when they buck off the riders right away. I always thought that was the goal and that the quicker they do it the better they must be. These judges don't work that way.

I'm happily watching and then poof they're all done and tell me to tune in tomorrow on CBS for the end of the round? Who planned this? emoticon

I was stunned the Marchi hasn't ridden his bulls, I thought he would be all over them. So glad JB & Kody rode theirs and that JB won rounds 2 & 3.

And the landing that Kasey Hayes took. Straight down on his noggin. Pretty sure I wouldn't have been able to get up much less wave when leaving.

I'm now impatiently waiting for next thursday.

I think Mike Lee needs to make sure he is all the way away from the bull before getting to happy about his ride and doing his little happy roll. Glad he rode his bull though.

I'm so glad Kody and JB rode their bulls. I was very surprised that Brian Canter and Ryan McConnel successfully rode with all their injuries.

Hey Kathy,
I am so happy to hear from you. I was getting lonely talking to myself about the events.

I am cheering for Kody, too !!!
My DH is all for J.B., which it wouldn't bother me if he won either.

I am worried about Ryan Dirteater, too. They said SERIOUS injury. And that IF is scary. He was doing so great. I haven't checked the sight yet. Which ever one of us does can let the other one know, okay?

I hope you get to watch all of the Finals. They start in 1 week. And come chat about them when you can.

Hi Net
I'm here. I am watching but I have to record the events and then I can watch a little bit at a time in the evenings. We just took over another business and it is very busy here and I'm not spending much time on the internet. I couldn't believe Ryan Dirteaters accident. Poor kid. And Tandy saying "if" he can come back it will be six months to a year. Don't like hereing ifs. I was going to go to the PBRs page and see if the had an update but haven't made it there yet. I can't wait for the finals. I told hubby he was just going to have to clear up some time so I could watch it. I am rooting for Kody to win this year.

It is getting to be a VERY close race for the #1 spot. Guilherme rode all 3 to win the Event. JB rode 2, & Kody rode 1. They are closing the gap.
This ought to be an exciting Finals, with the 3 of them that close together in points !!!

I watched last night. DH talked thru the first 1/2.
Then I was sleepy the second 1/2.
All I remember is Kody got bucked-off. As did Mike Lee. JB rode.

What did I miss???
Hopefully tonight, I will get to enjoy it more :)

I don't want Mike Lee to retire either.
It just seems like he is always getting head injuries
or getting bucked off....My DH thinks it has already affected his riding. Maybe if he took some time off--
he could get back to his old wonderful self :)

Just finished watching the Reno event. Yeah JB. I have to agree it is much more fun to watch when it's the rider against the bull. I love the fact that we can cheer for all the riders even the ones who get bucked off. I really wanted Ryan to ride his in the championship round.
I would really hate to see Mike Lee retire as he is one of my favorite riders but I would hate to see him permanently injured even more. It must be hard for them to make that choice when they have invested so much of there lives to what they do.

I honestly think Mike Lee ought to retire. I hate to say that, him being my favorite. But, I worry that he is going to end up with brain damage from all those concussions !!!
Plus, before he started getting all the head hits, he was a great rider. Now, he rarely makes the 8 seconds :(

Ive never been anti-Brazil, (Guilherme was the first rider who caught my eye), but i sure lost a lot during the World Cup. Glad we're back to just regular bull riding now! Super worried about MIke Lee though. HOw many more hits to the head can the boy take, honestly?

I have been gone a lot lately. I even had to miss Reno this year. I have been trying to catch up on the events that were recorded. I just finished watching the world cup series and I have to say I also am amazed at the brazilian attitude. Too bad more of them aren't like Adriano and happy for all the riders. They didn't have to get super excited or anything but to have total silence (no clapping, none?) when JB and Ryan made such great rides was downright rude in my book. So glad team USA won.

emoticon JB won his 4th event of the season.

emoticon Kody got hurt, I hope it isn't serious.

The Brazillians didn't do to good. Guilherme didn't ride ANY of his bulls. Renato was the only one to do good.

Hope y'all get a chance to post :)

I was truly dissapointed with the World Cup this year. Year 1 was in Australia & the fans were great to all the teams. Same with year 2 in Mexico.

I lost respect for the Brazilian riders because of the fans attitudes. All but one of them ride in the USA regularly and have many fans here. Then, they host a major event & act like I can't even think of a word for it. Adriano could have ask the fans to be respectful......

On to Reno next week with fans that love all the riders.

I'm glad the riders don't ride on teams regularly. it causes unnecessary divisions.

I like that it's each man against his bull, and not a personal competition.

World Cup is a nice diversion, and im glad WE won! but, im prefer the good ol' PBR!
