Another challenge would be great! How about until Easter? Wanna get it started Lacy?

Been doing good on the exercise front. Food is so-so... Haven't weighed in but my pants are loose.

Hope everyone is doing well.

Happy Valentine's Day!

Yeesh, I forgot this was the end of the challenge.

I didn't set a weight loss goal (and I don't know that I lost much anyway!), but I did meet my goals to:

1) Exercise 6x's a week
2) Only fruits or vegetables after dinner.
3) Carry water bottle around with me to get enough water.

I didn't succeed in drinking green tea- not even once, lol! I have definitely cemented some good habits. I think that I should continue focusing on habits and hopefully they will add up to a big change down the line.

How is everyone else doing?

yay on the salads!!!!

I did pretty good over the weekend. and yesterday had a sick kid, who my husband stayed home with. but when I got home she needed cuddles and and the boy needed attention so dear husband made dinner. Unfortuntly it was hamburger helper but how could I tell him I can't eat that cuz of a major way in on the valentines. So I ate it wiht mashed potatoes and gravy as well. Daughter is back to normal and hopefully goes to school tomorrow. I would love a run tonight or zumba class but not sure I'll get either. Eatting well I hope today and tomorrow and maybe no gain for our weigh in. I did not make it to my valentines goal of 5lbs but am down 2lb so can't complain. 3 more to go to presurgery but have no doubt I can get there and beyond!

Lets do this!

Yay on the lost Lacy! Good for you! I'm also gonna be selling Girl Scout cookies soon... Anyone interested? Haha

Planned on making a salad for the family for lunch tomorrow. Cilantro shrimp, avocado, tomatoes... Yum! Not sure how it will go down since hubby doesn't consider salad a meal. We shall see...

Have a great weekend girls!

FLACCA- YAY ON THE LOSS!!!! and that your back isn't hurting this week. Hope it continues for you

JEWLE- glAD your getting in zumba even though your so busy. I use my zumba as destress time.

I too showed aloss finally. Down 1lb. Still 3lbs away from pre surgery but at least its going in the right direction. My service manager's daughter was selling girl scout cookies so I bought two boxes. I had 1 peanut butter choc cookie and took the boxes home. Good thing about having 3 kids and a junk food husband... they will be gone before I get home tonight! Lunch with my husband today but not worried we are going to the mediterrian place we love and its so fresh and healthy, I never feel quilty, I always get the chicken kabobs and fattosh salad, yes we get hummus and pita chips but we share and hummus is good for you.

What are your plans to help you stay on track this weekend? Can you get in a salad for one meal this weekend? Can you make sure you get a veggie or fruit at each meal? Lets do this!!!!!

Yay Dani! Good job. Hope you have fun at Disney.

Teach- Congrats on picking a couch. Why are they so hard to pick, anyway? We shopped for one last year. Luckily, dh and I have same taste, but he has a very strict rule about how the couch must feel. And he'll sit on the couch in the middle of thestore, and pretend to be holding a remote and changing the channel. SO embarrassing, but he says he has to know that it's comfortable. LOL.

Lacey- I have the same problem with exercise vs. food intake. As a child, I was told that I could eat whatever I want as long as I exercised (and I'd stay skinny). Of course, this came from someone that NEVER exercises, so she probably thought that was her issue. Hard to shake that belief wants it's been sitting there for so many years.

So...I have been holding onto blind faith that this exercising and careful food intake will make a difference. I remember the scale and measuring tape not showing my results the first 2 to 4 weeks but dh told me it eventually would, and he was right.

I've been keeping at it the last few weeks, and yesterday, both the scale AND the measuring tape showed a loss. Thank goodness! I've only been measuring my waist each week, as that's my biggest concern measurement wise. I have slipped up a little in the food dept each day, but still an improvement overall over the last few months. I'm thinking of the last couple of months as more of a trial run and easing back into the healthy lifestyle. I think, as of today, I'm all in and ready to fully commit.

Oh yeah, and my back HAS NOT hurt for a week now!!!! I'm scared to say it out loud, but so thrilled. :O)

Hello!

Oie, where has the time gone? So sorry I haven't been posting, the days just keep slipping away. I think my problem is that I just run out the door in the morning to go to Zumba and then start the errands and everything and have no time to get on here anymore. Which is kind of good in a way... Today I'm volunteering at school so I have a few minutes to myself this morning. Gonna read you all now...

Who got a couch? Lol

YAY Dani-- woohoo on the 4lb loss thats awesome.

Flaca- the only reason I get in workouts on the weekends is I love running outside but can't during the week and its all working toward my ultimate goal. The scale isn't moving hereEITHER - I get in my head I am working out so hard I shoudl be able to eat what i WANT but I should know better.

Teach- glad you got a nice couch. I wanted a sectional for down in the basement but my husband wouldn't agree at all so understand ya there.
Yesterday was hill repeats on the treadmill. Warm up 5 min than 9Xs 30sec hills with 1.3 min jog than repeat 9 times than 10 min run/walk recover type. About 40 min. Not sure if I'm sure from that or strengh class on Monday either way took this morning off. Really hoping to see another lb off Friday

Dani- wow--what a week! I hope you enjoy your vacation!!
K- Sounds like you are getting in some great workouts!
NMF- How much longer is the class?
Lacy--Sure seems like you are on the right track!
Diz--Oh No! Girl Scout Cookies are so hard to resist!
Flaca--I'm getting frustrated by the scale, too. I know I havent' been perfect, but It isn't budging. It gets so frustrating!!

We ordered a couch thankfully! I was just about to the point of making my husband choose one, but he would have picked the camouflage one and I really didn't want that! :) We found a lovely sectional with recliners and high backs! we should get it in the next week. My husband and I should not shop together--ever! We just get frustrated with each other. oh well, it is done!!

Did my weigh in yesterday and was down 4 pounds - basically lost all the holiday pounds in 5 weeks. I'm thrilled with that although I had wanted a pound or two more for vacation.

Anyways, I leave tonight! I won't have my laptop so I won't be able to check in until we get back. Yeah, Disney!

Hello? Are you all there? Hmm...I find it a lot easier to stick to stuff when you guys areposting.

I don'tknow aboutall of you, but I go from one extreme to another. Way over calories on theweekend, now strugging to keep themat minimum rangeduring the week.

I've got my exercisein doing hulatonight.

NMF- Did you order Jillian's Body Revolution? I keep considering it, but am unsure if it will tweak my back. I've waited so long for my back to get better, and don't want to back track.

Hi Everybody!

I'm so glad to see you're all back. I've been reading here and there, but never had the time to post (it's just to time consuming to post with the phone).

Dani- I think you've def earned that vacation!
Lacey- You rock at working out on the weekends. Give me some of that dedication!!!
Teach- Hope the couch situation is resolved.
Kaug- How in the world are you throwing in a run after Turbo Fire? Seriously.
NMF- I can't stand when that happens! That's the worst. Looking forward to a class, then you get there and the teacher sucks or the class isn't what you expected. I hope it's over soon.

Well, I spent all of last week really watching my eating and exercise, but the scale wouldn't budge! And neither did the measuring tape. I was pretty discouraged. I went to get my haircut and the stylist said I've lost weight when I walked in the door. I felt like I had, but the scale says otherwise.

I wish I could say I carried my hard work through the weekend, but no. On a good note, I called to cancel my Zumba class, but they said it's too late. Turns out the lady I saw on the first day was a sub. I'm crossing my fingers that she will no longer be a sub. If that's the case, I'll be back to getting on track on the weekends- getting that Zumba in on Sat morning really made a difference for me in the past.

WOW! I had been wondering where everybody was.

DIZ - great job with working out. I think we all struggle with the eating part of it.

Dani- oh my sorry about your week and you ipod- geesh

teach- couch shopping. lol at first I was thinking it was new slang for online shopping but than I realized you were actaully shopping for a couch. yup I can be alittle ditzy sometimes. Hope you find one soon

k- I hope that kids better soon!

nmf- I am so sorry about school and that you don't like your classes. And a mile and 1/2 is great.
I got in my long run on Saturday but was stiff on sunday probably overdid so didn't do any on sunday. Made small snacks for the football game and nobody acted hungrey after that so the nachos I had planned to make at half time never got made so don't feel like I overdid the food yesterday. No lose or gain for the week

Well, my goal of checking in more often isn't going so well :p Girl Scout cookies came last Tuesday, and guess who is in charge of that? Not to mention I brought home 100+ cases to my house, so it's been a revolving door since!!! Add everyday life on top of that, and I can't breathe!!!!

Exercise is rocking, for the most part. Been doing 6 days a week lately (Turbofire schedule, and adding some treadmill runs in there too). But my eating is throwing it all away :( But, it's been mainly cardio for the kickboxing, and looking into the next week or so, we are headed to 3 days strength. Excited, cuz I was going to change it up and not follow the schedule, but now I'm gonna keep on trucking :)

NMF--so sorry your class isn't going well :( I wasn't happy with my last instructor, but mostly because she didn't interact as much as the one before (these are online classes). And when I turned in my 3 page rough draft (final paper was to be 8-10 pages), the only feedback I got was that it was within APA standards. Umm...no feedback on my material?? WTF?? She didn't get a very good review from me :(

Ok, gotta go! Preparing for the week, and have 1 more assignment to finish for class.

What a week!

On Tuesday the basement flooded, on Wednesday morning we locked ourselves out of the house, on Friday a piece in the doorknob of the front door snapped and we can open the door at all, and yesterday I was getting dressed for the gym and found my nano in my hoodie pocket - my freshly washed hoodie. I washed it, now it's dead, along with my good earbuds.

On top of all that, my brother was in the hospital for a few days with severe vomiting and abdominal pain. They can't find anything wrong, and released him

Thank god vacation is on Thursday!

Couch shopping is hard!! There's the height differences, the cushion size thing, what they're made of and if the cushions are attached or not!! I got so fed up last time that I told my husband to just pick them and he picked chocolate leather ones, and they're really big, too big!! I like them, but next time they need to be smaller!!!

K, I hope your kids feel better soon, that stinks. My son has some friends over and I see one is sick and i'm thinking oh shoot, I hope my kids don't get sick now!!

K--hope your kids are feeling better. There is nothing more sad than when your kids are sick or hurt. :( Hope everyone is up and running around again!

NMF--sorry your class isn't turning out the way you hoped. Is it the teacher or the material? Keep on truckin' and it will be over soon.

This weekend will be quite busy. We are couch shopping (again) this morning, then celebrating my grandmas 90th birthday. Tomorrow we celebrate my grandpas 86th birthday (other side of the family). Crazy times! I will be most glad to get the couch shopping finished. We have been looking and measuring for weeks.

Pretty quiet here! I have been getting in my workouts and eating pretty good. Just home all week with sick kids. Our 2 year old had RSV and our 8 year old has the stomach flu. Doesn't give me much down time! Hope you all have a great weekend and are able to stay on track!!

Hello! I was reading back and someone, I think Lacy, said something about being in a funk and I was like YES, THAT'S WHAT I'VE BEEN IN!!! I was going to say 'depressed' but that sounded to severe. I've just been in a funk. My class sucks eggs and I'm not enjoying this one at all. Then I think I picked the wrong stupid series of classes and I should have spent all that money on something else. Dragging myself out in the evenings, in the cold, for a 3 hour class of crap really sucks! I keep saying I should stay home, but I paid for the darn thing!! The really crappy part is this is the coding class, the one I wanted and took the whole series for!! I don't knwo if it's the teacher or me. I think a little of both. But it's so stressful that I come home and stress eat at 10:30 at night. I bet I've gained 3-5 pounds in the last 2 weeks. I feel fat and nasty. I woke up early to get on the treadmill the other day but my back was killing me so I didn't do it. Today I did it though, 1.5 miles. Which isn't much, but it's better than nothing! Doing better w/food today too. But between school stress and family stress, I'm just not doing well!! Trying to keep it together, but it's hard. I'm tired of it being hard, damnit!!! emoticon

YAY Teach- for not buying the snack.

Where is everyone? Hope not sick.

Tuesday got in a 4 mile hill repeat run on treadmill. Running up the inclines of 8.5 for 30 sec each time and 5 min run than repeat. Then lunch got in my 2nd salad - was store bought called Taylors Farm. Alittle high on the calories but so good. Spinach, feta cheese, dried cranberrys, spiced walmut and a vineagette with half can progresso chicken rice gumbo?

I ate my 3rd salad today for lunch. yummy. had to get gas on my lunch and passed every fast food place imagineable but nope I knew my lunch was in the fridge at work so got a cup of coffe(cream and sugar free hazelnut)and went back to work. Didn't drink all my coffee either , alittle on the strong side for me but not the point. LOL. My salad was romain, with cucumbers, tomatoes, alittle chedder cheese, lite french, and leftover over grilled chicken. Added my soup and filling yummy lunch. Tonight is make up Strength class. For me I need little pushes in the food area, don't mind exercising at all but eating well is another story. So if you got a food challlenge or idea share it!!!!

So proud of myself today. I was at Walgreens and they had my favorite snacks on sale for 99 cents per bag. The problem is that I would eat the whole bag at one sitting and there is about 800 calories in it. I'm glad I was able to walk past!!

If I was just eatting to maintain I would say I did pretty good this weekend. But Saturday night I finished my daughter ice cream cone- why couldn't I just throw it away! Then Sunday night I had 2 homemade choc chip cookies. but the rest of the time I DID well, and ran 3.5 miles on Saturday and Sunday was my long training run of 8 miles. Crazy!!!! But I want so bad to do this half marathon and I've even found one in May which I hope gives me enough time. So no lose for this week either but no gain either so its mostly a sugar thing.
TEACH- The weather is always crazy here! Its' like 70 here and calling for freezing temps later this week go figure!

Food challlenge of the week-- 3 salads, can be at any meals as the meal or as a side....

My first one done. It was yummy.. Mixed salad greens, tomatos, cucumbers, spicy leftover grilled chicken, alittle cheese, lite french and sprinkles with dried cranberries and walnuts.

The weather here is crazy! We had freezing rain yesterday morning and today it is almost 70. DH has been on a walking craze, but I couldn't go with him in 40 degree rainy weather yesterday, so I danced in the basement while he was gone!

We had ham and white beans for dinner last night and I brought the leftovers for lunch. I really wanted to make cornbread to go with it, but I restrained. We had fresh veggies instead. Time to o for a quick walk!

oh no flacca- oreos! girl scout cookies are coming next and I really don't wanna buy any but I know two girls- ugh

made to my stength class night and man did she work us. really wish I could take this one two nights a week but don't want to give up my zumba either and family would probably have a cow if I took 3 classes at night. Don't have alot of stabilty with the ball quite yet so I DID fall off at one point Lol. Today I wasn't sore but muscles felt tight so decided to do yoga this morning. feell better but hip flexor on right side is still tight. Zumba is tonight so we'll see maybe I can wiggle it out.
I had a protein smoothie for breakfast, just had a cliff bar and there tuna, lettuce, whole wheat pita, and carrots and lite ranch in my lunch. Thinking seasoning some chicken to throw in toaster over tonight, cuz family wants hamburger helper

Good job on getting those workouts in ladies!

I just barely managed to make myself workout about an hour ago. Boy, was that tough! But I don't care, b/c I'm just happy I was able to do it. I was only walking for about a week b/c of dumb pain. Fingers crossed that this is the end of it.

So...food...I was doing SO GOOD...then....as I was cooking dinner...I started eating some oreos. Why do I have them in my house? B/cI thought, "Oh, the kids want them. I'll just hide them out of site." Well, I did, but them oldest dd asked for some and left them on thecounter. Boom. End of story.

Lesson learned my friends. Flaca is only flaca when she keeps bad stuff out of the house!

I've hibernating in this cold! Walked a mile on the treadmill a lunch yesterday and tonight is my gym night. Eating has been good considering tom is due today. Usually I am craving sweets!

Good job keeping on track this weekend everybody! I also kept on track and acutally ordered salads each time we went out! Woohoo! Trust me, this is a big 180. I owe it to you ladies :O)

NMF- Now I am really interested in this Body Revolution business. It's actually showingup as an ad right now b/c I looked it up the other day. I thought it was interesting that there is only one cardio workout per phase. It sounds like it would be good- especially b/c it includes HIIT workouts, but I'm a little worried that I'd get bored. I dunno.

I have hula tonight. I'm looking forward to it, but dreading a little. I have been having hip pain since the last class. Maybe I'm just too out of practice and have to deal with it for a while.

Hope to keep seeing posts on here. I need you guys for motivation and inspiration!

I'm right there with you Diz!

Ugh! Not getting any mails about this thread. I hate when that happens. Busy like all of you. Going camping with my eldest who is in Girl Scouts this year. Lots to prepare AND I volunteered to represent Canada in the multicultural fair at school that's all day and the evening of Thursday. Can't wait for next week...

Been doing ok. Saturday was a bust but since then watching myself and still hungry.

Life is crazy!! We are in basketball season, plus the normal stuff. I am not used to practices every day...big difference from elementary basketball to middle school :p Running crazy...

Just wanted to pop in :) I just finished up some homework, and now I have to get myself ready to go watch a basketball game an hour away, and then head to volleyball right after. Nothing but craziness!!!! Will grab a green tea to go (it's FREEZING and it will be a nice warm up) and a snack. DD wants to eat out, so we'll see what options are available and how much time we have!! We had subway last night (no, we don't normally eat out this much...), so we will see what options we have tonight :)

I want normalcy!! Haha...I love watching him play though...

flacca- oh no. ballet slippers?

Jillian Michaels kicks my butt! OH my but she is tough. I have the 30 shred from years ago, and have rented the biggest loser for the kinect. She makes alot of sense though and I always read her stuff when i come across it.

Saturday I had chicken twice so passed the challenge but not sure about the cheeseburgers on sunday with fries. I cooked them but still. I was busy on saturday but still went for a run with my daughter with a stop at the park so we could run around a bit. Sunday she woke up sick, but still planned to get in my long run. Some reason I was in a funk and couldn't make myself go anywhere other than to pick my son who went to a sleep over. Don't feel like i overate or even ate terribly this weekend.
Today I have to work till 6pm instead of my usual 4pm so will have to miss the cardio/strength class I take at the rec center. Good news is I can make it up on the wed class. I was going to do alitlle strenght toning this morning and the teenager was asleep in the xbox/exercise room so nothing today. But I have soup for lunch and yogurt so eating should be fine.

Lets make it a great week!!!

Flaca--that cracks me up. I can totally picture her! Sad that you didn't get the workout you were hoping for.

I'm seeing improvements in my body but am afraid to get on the scale because I don't want to be disappointed. Is that silly of me?

Haha, that was funny, Flaca! I could totally picture her!!

Yup, I've read Jillian's books. I forget if there's 2 or 3, the metabolism one was my fave. I read part of Bob's too, didn't finish it though. I looked more into BR yesterday and it really sounds great. There's a TON of dvd's, like 15 or 20, and you use each for a week or two, and progress to the next, it's a 90 day plan. With cardio and s/t. Plus there's meal guides and books and journals included. And a stretchie band or something. I read a lot of reviews on all different sites and it has amazing reviews everywhere. And a bunch of the people said they didn't follow the meal plans, just stayed in the 1200-1300 cal range, but the dvd's were what got them results. They start on the easier side and have you progress to harder stuff. I love the idea they're only 30 mins. You know they'd be a great 30 mins and not feel like a waste!! And I love that it's a plan for 3 months. I want it but I'm afraid I'm gonna get hyped into the idea but then buy it and not follow the plan and it'll be a big waste!!

NMF- I haven't heard of it. Now I have to go check it out. Have you read the book she wrote?

Teach- I have been told the same thing a million times over about the core/back connection. I was working on it today b/c I'm getting a flare up...again. Pilates is supposed to be great. I've been doing planks and side planks.

So, I have something kind of funny to share. I went to the first Zumba class for this session. the usual instructor is out on maternity leave, so new lady was there. Can you guess what she was wearing? For one, she was probably in her late 50's/early 60's- She was wearing: a sweat/headband, empire waist floral shirt (type you'd buy from Mervyn's when it was open), loose khaki capris, and...wait for it...glittery ballet flats. Oh no, she wasn't wearing tennis shoes.

I stayed through 4 songs. At first, I stayed b/c I figured- hey, maybethis is a blessing in disguise b/c I always push to hard and back/hip are hurting. However, by the fourth song, it was just so bad and I didn't even have a bead of sweat. I quietly left when the instructor turned around (didn't want to hurt her feelings). But seriously, my city's parks and rec is nuts if they think this was a good idea!

So, guess I'm going to have to figure out something else for Saturday mornings!

BTW- I have done well today in the food dept. Ordered a salad (and looked up it's nutritionalinfo beforeordering). Gotta keep it up and will see results eventually!

Hi! We had our chicken tonight! It was grilled, wrapped in bacon, and then brushed with barbecue sauce. Yummy! I have been eating less carbs and more protein this week and I certainly don't feel hungry. I need to keep it up! I do better away from home with it, though.

NMF--I saw it, but haven't tried it. I agree that Jillian knows what she is talking about!

I have been working to strengthen my core on my non-dance days. My chiropractor thinks that is why I have been experiencing some crazy back issues. Hopefully it helps.

I plan out the entire week's meals before I shop on Sunday. Sometimes it gets changed, but overall we stick with it. I was looking for some new lower carb recipes today and will be trying a few of them this week.

Hey peeps. Funny to read about salads, I had one for lunch today. For dinner we're thinking pizza, but I defrosted some chicken for soup so it will be both.

Has anyone use Body Revolution by Jillian?? I like her, not the whole package, but I think she's really knowledgeable about how our bodies work, inside and out. I heard someone talking about how awesome it is, then saw an infomercial today and I want it!! It's over $100 though, something to look into more before purchasing. It's a series of 30 min dvd's with food plans and other stuff as well.

Alright, just came back from a mission to Costco in anticipationof the weekend. I bought a roasted chicken (you can do endless things with those, and quickly), yogurt, and some fruit/veggies. Let's hope this sticks!

Funny Flaca we have also decided to stop eating out as much. Better health wise and for the budget. Usually on Fridays we have pizza night but tonight I'm making spaghetti, Saturday we're having dinner at my brother (phew!) and Sundays hubby usually cooks. We often have BBQing on the weekend. Lunches are often omelettes or eggs also bagels with cream cheese and raw vegetables.

My challenge, since we often have chicken, will be to log everything. Usually not done...

Have a great weekend!

Well, I'll be keeping the same pants. There's nowhere to go but down if I get in gear. Right? I'd rather save my money for some new, smaller clothes. It's just really not fun to be wearing them and no it doesn't look so great. ;O)

I like the idea for thisweekend.

I have figured out that my biggestobstacle lately has been cooking on the weekends. I don't plan ahead, I get hungry, then we have just been buying food. IT's ok to eat one or two meals out a week, but it's become too much of a habit o weekends.

I'm thinking maybe I should try casseroles or something. Maybe crockpot meals where I only have to toss things in- anymore steps than that and it's not happening on the weekend (yeah, ,I'm lazy!).

What do the rest of you do foodwise on weekends?

Awwww Lacy don't despair. The scale isn't nice to me either this week and I've worked my behind off and been starving most of the time. Ugh! I think our bodies need to adjust to this shock we are giving them. We'll see results in a few weeks. Just got to keep at it!

Hugs

weigh today was kind of a let down, 1lb up since monday. and I've been eatting well and exercised every day this week except for wedn. I quess i need to go back to tracking calories, I hate this part of it the worst. Maybe salt intake is up somewhere. Either way Monday is offical weigh in day so maybe I will see a positive? I know measurements are importatant too. Did get in 45 min of weights and tonin exercises on my kinect and then 5 min tai chai cool down. So actually got in two strenght training days-yay!!!!!!

Eatting challenge for this weekend.. since we all struggle with this. Hmmm.. make chicken as a protein for dinner one night, not fried or breaded, try spices, herbs, veggies. Tell us WHAT you had. If anyone else has any feel free to throw them out there. I think we all need a little extra motivation- I kow I do.

FLACCA- that's a tough one. I know I have suffered with tight pants and it is just not fun. Jeans I will not wear tight- ugh! I say buy a pair at target or somewhere not expensive and then when you get back to a happier size reward yourself with a better pair!!!!

Lunch - mixed greens lettuce, cucumbers, cherry tomatos, broccoli, shredded cheese, cubed ham, lighthouse lite ranch, and a small spoon of their spicy chicken salad, then almonds and small scoop of sunflower seeds!!!! Yummy!!

I eat a salad nearly every day for lunch at work. The local grocery store here has a very nice salad bar where you can build your own and it's mostly organic too! I wish I had it in my kitchen at home....

Got my salad in for lunch today. I made the hubby and I giant salads today full of yummy veggies and only allowed him so much dressing. He was bugged that I measured it out and wouldn't allow him any more than that! He will get used to it!

Got a great workout in today. Three days in a row! Could I finally be on the right track?! :-)

teach-- yay on the pants fitting better!!!! Sometimes thats a better feeling than the number on the scale!

DIZ- Sometimes when I'm logging exercise it will tell me I need to increase my calories . not the best calories tracker though.

lunch yesterday turned out to be jimmy's john(sanwiches) so I got the turkey tom on wheat(they have awesome grainy wheat) no cheese and easy mayo. Little disappointed they don't put spouts on it anymore though.
Tonight is zumba!!!! And my lunch today will be a make my own salad from dillons cuz I have to mail a package, Should have been weights this am but convinced myself I needed to finish my book - tomorrow night is my book club and not done with it yet.oh well, at least there's zumba tonight and I can grab some hand weights.

Flaca--my pants being a bit uncomfortable and not looking the best was my motivation, but I also worried a time or two that if I bent the wrong way that I may split them. :)

Diz--I think if you weren't hungry, then you shouldn't worry too much about it. Your body will let you know if it needs something.

Dani--good job going to the gym!

I'm having a hungry day and I am trying to distract myself so I don't go get something for lunch. I should just stick with what I brought. These days are hard. I'm going to eat an apple now. :)

Flaca hmmm tough one. I think staying with the ones that are a bit tight might motivate you.

Teach - nice progress

Lacey good challenge thanks for those.

NMF nice to see you again.

Staying in range no loss on the scale but actually measured myself this morning and lost half an inch at the waist and half a inch around the thighs since last September when I started Zumba seriously. Yay!

Diz- I'm not an expert, but I think you needed more calories. If you look at the Turbo Fire book that came with your kit, it contains a calculation of how many calories you need. Of course, I don't recall if it factors in your other activities.

Lacey- I like the salad idea! I'm going to have to do broccoli paired with a protein insteadthough b/c I have a lot of broccoli to take care of within the next couple of days. LOL!

Teach- Yay on the pants fitting better!

Speaking of pants...I was debating this morning whether to allow myself to go buy another pair of pants, or continue uncomfortable. Hehehe. My pants fit, but not great. I got rid of all of my "fat" clothes so that I would be motivated to stay in my goal range. For various reasons, I didn't. I don't feel all that great when I go out in my clothing unless I'm covering up thebelly area, etc.

Do you all think it makes sense to push forward until the weight loss comes, or get a pair or two of pants now? Perhaps feeling badin what you're wearing is counterproductive to losing weight?

I'm curious what you's thoughts are since we've all been there.

Question: yesterday I worked my tail off. 3 workouts--45+ min of turbofire (400 cal), 30 min treadmill (300 cal) and an hour of volleyball (200 cal). So, 900 calories burned through workout. On a normal week/day, my calorie goal (according to spark) is 1580-1930 per day. yesterday I wasn't extremely hungry, and only got 1400+ calories in. Any thoughts? Everything else (protein, fiber, etc) was in range, just not my calories, and I do always make sure to be over 1200 calories. Should I have eaten more? Or is that ok since i got everything else in? Or am I overthinking and shouldn't even worry :p I really don't care, just curious. Usually I am pretty close on calories...

Happiness of the week--my pants are fitting better. Not quite so tight!

Also, anyone else in the Midwest? If so, did you see the forecast for next week? Yikes! I may need to hibernate to get through it. Extreme cold=YUCK!

Got my workout in this morning...Turbofire Firestarter and stretch 10. Got all dressed for a girlfriend date of shopping and lunch, and she bailed :( Her daughter's been sick, so she's playing catch up on life...

I found a new fave ice cream treat...Healthy Choice Greek Frozen Yogurt (link below)
YUMMMMMMMMMM....
Not cheap, but Sam's Club has a pkg of 12 (strawberry and vanilla) for about $10. I really, really, really want to try raspberry...not exactly perfect snack, but I LOVE ice cream, so this is nice (and since it's prepackaged, I don't have to worry about measuring!!!

Ok, just wanted to share...need to go flop laundry, put more paper in the printer, and get some stuff done around here!!! back later!!!

Looks like we're doing good so far!!! Keep up the great work!

Mini challlenge...... there are 3 lunches left this week. Make a salad for lunch or buy one and report back what was in it! Be creative, if you want.

Today I have to go to the other location for work meeting dealing with new computer system and catered lunch. Hoping for something light but may just have to deal with it. Suspoed to be 3 hrs long so not much I can do about it. I had my a cliff bar and my oatmeal witha banana in it so far and have a light stirfry planned for dinner so should be fine if calories are alittle high for lunch. Yesterday did some speed work on the treadmill 3 min warm up, 3 min 6.3, 3 min at 4.5 to 5.5 and then repeat till hit 3 miles. Today was rest day and tomorrow is double workout.

Hello!!!!!
Alright, it's almost, what, 4 weeks till V-day?? Ok, my goal is 6 pounds. I have been half on track, and did go for a walk yesterday but exercise is still my drawback, I just don't have the desire and don't have the willpower to do it anyway. My thighs are showing it though, I need to get active!

I was out of my classroom today, so no computer handy to put in my food and water. We aren't supposed to have our phones out in front of the kids, because they aren't supposed to have them out so I couldn't log my food that way either. I didn't realize how much I rely on tracking to know how many calories I have left for dinner/snack. Time to go back and try to put my food in for today. Have a great evening!

Hi, girls!!! Popping in quick to say hello :) Been busy...the holidays were crazy and I completely went off track. I am back on track for exercise, and getting there with eating. I made and printed an exercise calendar, and am doing pretty good so far. I check it at night so I can see how long my workout is and how early I need my alarm set :p

I guess I will make some quick goals for the rest of the challenge...4 weeks left...

Lose 2 lbs
Keep to my exercise calendar--6x's per week
Work on eating better, more fruits and veggies
Check in here 2x's per week

I am keeping it small for now :)

Hello ladies!

Oie! I'm having a hard time. Doing excellent in the exercise but very hungry. I think I'm going to take the challenge Flaca suggested. Eating only fruits and veggies when hungry. Hard when I can hear the chocolate and the cookies in the cupboard calling my name. Ok now that I've written it down it must be done.

Yeah, I wasn't successful on the weekendchallenge. I'm thinking that this weekendwill be an improvement b/c I will finally be starting up my Saturday morning Zumba classes again. This tends to keep me on track. Oh, and hula starts tonight. Can't wait to get back to better shape.

I like the idea of a weekly challenge. I thought the one for this weekend was a great idea. That's what I usually aim for each day. I don't have any original ideas though as this is the only one I've really tried. Maybe....not eating anything except fruit/veg. after dinner if you're hungry?

Looking forward to hearing everyone else's ideas!

Live with purpose

Great job everyone getting in those fruits and veggies. Its all about the small things, but I bet it made you think about what you were eatting. It did me!

I weighed in this morning and scale said down a lb. Still another 4lb to go before I get to presurgery weight but step in the right direction. I did have pizza on Friday but that was my only splurge and as I've said before I'm trying to eat in the real world but for me its about learnign not to go overboard or let it be an all weekend thing LIKE so many times in the past. For my family it is pizza on Fridays. But I got in a long run outside yesterday and made chicken tacos( i use mama lupe low carb tortillas) for dinner last night which made a great salad today! Tonight is cardio strength class and I look forward to it.

Whats a challenge for the week? or at one meal? any ideas? I saw we should randomly throw them out there! Keep up on track and motivated ?

Good morning!

Well ate too much again this weekend again... Ugh! Shame on me. Funny how food is linked to family time and time off. Vicious cycle that I'm probably handing down to my two daughters. I must set a better example.

Off to Zumba fitness (that's with weights) very efficient.

Have a great week ladies

I had a banana and an apple every day of the weekend. Felt better getting those in! That was a nice, easy weekend challenge!!

Ah, Monday, we meet again!

I was a slug yesterday and really did not do anything productive, but I know that this week will be busy so I figured it was ok. :)

Great job on the fruits and veggies! I did pretty good with that myself, but still need to improve.

I have a long day ahead of me. I coach our robotics club and we have a meeting and then I am meeting with a group of secretaries to start teaching them their dance for the staff talent show. Thankfully DH is cooking dinner tonight!

Have a great day!

I'm all by myself this weekend so I took advantage and am doing the shakes for breakfast and lunch, but I had an apple for my mid-afternoon snack and veggies w/ dinner.
