I was having that problem for most of my life. I have been teaching middle school now for two years and most of the time I am sleeping 7 hours a night. Sometimes, I even sleep 8.

A Sleep Diary will certainly help with 'all those things going on' because it helps you organize what you will do and when. If you are able to sleep, things don't overwhelm you.

thank you for the suggestions. so much is going on right now, it seems like i don't know if i'm coming or going! a sleep diary sounds like a good idea. i'll give it a try, and see how it goes.

Welcome! Have you ever kept a sleep journal? I hope there is some way you can get help. Myself I had trouble seeping, and I take melatonin at about 8 in the evening. It has been helping me. Good Luck.

Hi, sweetie. Yup! You DO need our help. The very FIRST thing you need to do is learn to get some good sleep. Lack of sleep can cause all sorts of health problems, like: gaining weight, depression, and diabetes, etc.

So, let's have you start with a Sleep Diary. It turns out that people can program their brains when to sleep, just like programming a computer. BE CONSISTENT! Turn off your TV and computer about an hour before you need to go to bed. A very powerful signal. Get a notepad and some pens or pencils--no typing--write what time you started getting ready for bed, and then all the things you do like getting in your pjs. Write down what time you actually got into bed, any meds you take, anything you are worried about, and what time you need to wake up.

Look at my SparkPage and to the right you'll see a blog that says something about needing sleep. Pull that up and there are three links posted by our SparkPeople experts to help you get better sleep. Print them out and keep them with your Sleep Diary. Yes, it really works.

You are really under a lot of stress, so it's very important you get control of your sleeping/failure to sleep right now. Don't take any sleep aids. That just trains your brain to believe you NEED the pills to sleep.

If you still can't the sleep you need, make an appointment with your doc for a Sleep Study to make sure you are getting enough oxygen at night.

hi, i'm a new member, and can't really remember when i've ever slept through the night! i don't know if it's a problem, because i get through my day, but i do take naps from time to time. i'd like to get a good night's sleep!
