You are right, Carrie. It has been glorious here and even if there won't be as many roses as there has been in the past, there are so many flowers nodding their colorful heads as I walk by and acknowledge them with my own 'nod.'
You know Renie, losing any weight at all with it being Spring brings a new light to your eyes to see the green in the grass and I noticed this morning that I the tea roses by my front door are full of buds and opening....what a glorious day to be alive and have friends here share the journey with! Thanks for the reminder that rain is a part of the process that HE allows to happen to open the flowers and make the grass green and allow us the opportuntiy of enjoying the work he created on our daily walks.
Hi, Carrie; You've set some terrific goals and I'll add my hopes with yours for some sunny days. So far today, it looks like a sunny day. Keep your fingers crossed that it will continue. The grass around my home looks so vibrant. I love it.
Hi Donna, and good morning, I didn't receive the personnel note. did you mail it to me @ Jocko56beer@yahoo.com ? Now that I know what's wrong with me I try to work on those problems every day. For instance, whenever I go for a walk my inhaler comes with me, just in case I become out of breath. & I try to walk for two ,then three miles per day. If the weather is raining outside, I ride my recumbent bike for three miles. It usually takes me an hour to do that. and then there's physical therapy twice a week. And in between I try to either walk or ride daily. My pulmonary doctor told me to keep going ,it can only help me in the long run. Take care and be well. John

I think you are doing pretty well with what you are doing. Do you take a lunch or eat ee if there is any way you can get about 10 minutes of walking? If not try to get up and walk around your desk occassionally during the day. If you can get some fresh air when you walk it is even better. I went for a 1 time today for a 30 min. Then I did 2 different exercises. I hope you have a great evening.
Well success-Amt my life is probably much like everyone's here busy and full. Working in an office everyday and I'm so thankful my job is fun and I work with great people who are supportive of my journey. But sitting all day is not the best way to get exercise. I purchased a big ball and thought about bringing it in to sit on part of the day to help with the core, which is pretty weak but am afraid I would not use it as much here as at home. I try my best to get up at least twice a day, I do lunges, wall pushups and swats....can you recommend anything else I can do here at work? Appreciate your comments and suggestions.....

I am not sure how your life is. Do you work or are you at home? I first started out trying to walk 30 minutes a day. Then on the days you have the exercises. I do them plus walk. Lewt me know how you do it. OK
Great and welcome abroad my journey Nevenka13. I am going to appreciate your help with my weight loss. I hope that "bad" days are behind me now that I have some freinds who are welling to listen and give me the motivation that I need to keep this trip moving forward! Do you have any suggestions for getting in some exercise?

Hey there, I know it seems like it is an uphill battle trying to eat healthy and get in some exercise, but you need to keep up the plan that you have going. I joined this site on Friday the 29th of April, my goal is to have this 50 addition lbs I'm packing around off the body by winter. If I have the encouragement and movtivation from others I have a great feeling that I will achieve this goal. I have gotten rid of 30 lbs and I feel so much better. I'm only 5 ft and therefore carrying all this weight around isn't good for my moral or my body. Together we will lose weight. I am on the weight watchers point life style eating plan. I won't say I'm dieting, because this has to be how I live my life. Golly I'm 60 and now I'm concerned that time is running out to be in good shape and healthy....but I'm going to give it my best shot! Glad you're on board with me. I'm having trouble with the water, what's your trick?

Great! thanks for adding me as a buddy. Maybe I can someone yo bonce things off of. I am trying to walk, drink my 8 glasses of water, and eat like the nutritional guide tells me. It seems like I either go over on salt, under on other things. My scales hasn't moved since I've started unless up. I keep going on but i feel discouraged. How have you been doing? When did you join?
Hi Success-AMT glad to include you as a buddy! It is always so much easier and nicer to have those that are sharing the same kind of problems offer up some good ideas about how to conquer the problem at hand. So anytime you have something to share I'm here to listen!

I'm new to this site as well and while today I'm geared up to go the distance it would be nice to have a new buddie or a few hundred to help that movtivation stay here where it is needed. I'm 60, a girlie girl and have lost 30 lbs and need another 50 off. So please feel free to contact me and together we can do many wondeful things along this journey together!
Hello, Donna. I'm so glad you've chosen to join the I Need Sleep! Team. As you may already know, lack of sleep, being overweight, depressed and even Diabetes can all be connected.
Because of that connection, I suggest starting a Sleep Diary where you will write with a pen or pencil all the things you do to send a signal to your brain that it is time to sleep. This is similar to programming a computer. The first signals should be turning off the TV and computer about an hour before bed time.
Go to my (Renie's) spark page and pull up the most recent blog about sleep diaries. (I did NOT write these but were accumulated from SP experts and a quiz from MDWEB.) Click on the links and print them out. Keep them with your Sleep Diary. Be consistant!!!
Please let us know how you are doing because we DO care.
Thank you kindly for sharing with me, and taking the time to reply to my post. I admire you greatly for pushing despite having to deal with health issues. It must be scary. I so much hope to improve myself and do what you are. As you know its harder with health issues to keep on track. It's hard for me to stay on track, but I am trying to start. I already feel better.
Good morning Donna, I joined to loose the excess poundage too,lol I've managed to loose 30 pounds but it is mainly due to going to physical therapy and to my constantly trying to improve my walking to the point when I was able to walk 5 miles every day!.I'm getting back to that number slowly. The reason because Im getting there slowly, I have COPD, ChronicObstructivePulmonaryDisease, it robs me of my ability to breath normally. On the bad days I'll have to stay indoors because the air pollution is unbreathable for me.On other days, it's my left leg that gives me trouble. I have Cervical, thoracic and lumbar spinal stenosis along with several bone spurs(a few bonespurs are touching the spinal cord) these spinal cord touching occurr in the cervical spine, not the best place to have spurs touching in the neck, has caused my left leg to feel numb and painfull for the past year, and 8 herniations to go around. PS, I am 55 and still walking, lol John
