Were it not for my business and economic situation 2008 would have been stupendous. I quit smoking april 1st and also gave up pepsi(the straight stuff not diet) and sugar. I now use splenda and drink diet green tea. I have lost approximately 25 lbs and have found my endurance has increased I have managed, with his help, to get the excess weight off of the dog making him healthier and happier. I can now shovel without pain or need for rest, as well as cut the grass, carry in groceries and other normal activities. I have changed my cholesterol around and am finally off of the pills that had been prescribed. Enough to make anyone happy? Yes but am looking forward to strength training and additional functional fitness in the coming year. I know I will probably never be good with food, fruits, veggies etc but hopefully I with exercise will lose more weight and become healthier overall.
Great things that happened in 2008 were: 1. my finally getting involved with Spark People 2. making lots of new friends. I'm so grateful for all the support. 3. netting a weight loss & not gain this year. 4. making progress with my arm & hand. It's not perfect, but the dance is not over yet.
I'm ready to journey into 2009 & see where it takes all of us.

My accomplishments for 2008 were (1) joining SparkPeople and beginning to lose weight, (2) getting contracts for two mystery books, (3) I threw away the goodies I brought home with me from our Christmas celebration. (That was really hard.) In 2009 I'm going to meet my goal.
I think addressing some of my medical problems and being granted Social Security Disability. I have not been able to work for over two years and finally, gave in to apply. I am thankful that I did and was approved fairly quickly. Now I no longer have to worry about whether or not I can actually go back to work and trying to make it through a day. After working over 30 years I am just not healthy to do it anymore.

Love to share with you all and hear what you have to share....So what was your 2008 moment or accomplishment that was the best to you????
Mine was the Purple Hawaiian Beach Bike my Dh surprised me with and realizing after not being on one for 20 some odd years I can still ride like the wind...which I would not have been able to do when I was 100 lbs heavier a couple of years ago.
Thanks 2008~~~~Hello 2009
