I chew gum at work after I eat lunch or snack. Only for a few minutes. It does help clean the teeth, along with drinking some water (swish and swallow, lol). Also, I read that mint can be a mild appetite suppressant, so I have mint gum or a sugar free mint. But be careful, many of the sugar free items still have a few calories, so more than 2 or 3 servings a day can add up quickly.

I'm not usually a gum person, but then I realized..its probably a good thing. Cleans the teeth and keeps me from grabbing the wrong thing when not really hungry, but bored. Since I don't care for the fake sweetners in them I dropped into a health food store, and low and behold!!!....good-for-you gum!... "spry" It comes in many flavors, including green tea, to which I feel is benificial in weight loss.

Gramma Cruiser: I hope you can encourage your freind to be active. Try mentionimg "mall browsing", "walk to take in the new Spring", "throw a frisbee". Make a lunch date... graciously pay with the agreement "you get to order the food". Good luck with your journey.

If I find myself not wanting to exercise or keep with my eating plan, Look and my best friend who is in horrible health and ask myself if I want to live like that and miss so much. I love her dearly, but she is in denial and thinks she is healthy!

I have to be honest, I tried that Greek Yogurt, , I have to say, I won't buy any more...maybe... The taste was horrible. But I am kind of frugal and didn't want to throw it away. So I went through my cabinets and found some dip mix for veggies. I mixed them together and WOW!!! I came up with a wonderful dip. I pulled out the sour cream in the fridge and compared labels. I was totally shocked. The greek yogurt is more healthier for you, but you will have to mix something with it. I would use it in place of sour cream.
I've lost 18 pounds in 5 weeks, but I only have 45 days until my cruise so it's crunch time. Here's what I do: 1. Track everything I eat or drink on SparkPeople and stay within my calories 2. Eat low carb - lots of salads, green veggies, turkey, fish, and chicken 3. Cardio for at least 40 minutes 6 days per week 4. Strength training 3 days per week (alternate days) 5. Drink lots of water 6. No alcohol (that's for the cruise!)
Please post any helpful tips that you've used that work.Give support or when you feel down and need support ask for it, We are all here to help.Any suggestions for weight loss or for the team, challenges etc.
