That is a good suggestion. Addition is so much easier to do. I will make that change.

One suggestion to count UP to the number of steps to LA instead of DOWN. That way people won't have to have a calculator to figure out how many steps the group has done.

I bought a pedometer online today, and should have it on the 10th! Can't wait to contribute to the challenge :-)

Every step counts! The goal is to get moving after the holidays. I am excited to see your numbers from yesterday. I will be logging mine this evening since I forgot my number at home.

Walgreens sells pedometers. An inexpensive pedometer will not keep track of steps well. Many use the Omron pedometer that cost's between $22-$24. I buy mine on Amazon.com. I've worn one for over 4 years. That does not mean that I get many steps in each day, especially since I broke my knee. I'll help with this challenge as I am able.

Just to clarify: You do not need to be a 10,000 step per day walker to join. Everyone in welcome! The more the merrier and the easier the goal!

We all dreamed of a white Christmas but now we want fun in the sun! The only way to do that is to head to L.A.! Los Angeles is 1,550 miles from Omaha. That is 3,098,000 steps and we have until February to get there!

Beginning January 1st, The SparkOmaha Team is challenging our members to walk 100,000 steps DAILY to get us to the goal of reaching LA. This is a team effort. Everyday strap on your pedometer and get moving! At the end of your day log on to THE 100,000 STEP CHALLENGE TRACKER and log your steps. Every participant counts. If we get 10 members participating, the goal is attainable. With 15 members, it is even easier!

Get back to reaching your goals after the holiday season by joining The 100,000 Step Challenge!
