I am winning to day because I did very well on my steps and my day isn't over yet! I have managed to drink all my water and I wasn't even tempted by the goodies that are in our department. YAY me!

Shirl, my downfall has been not eating properly during October because of my work schedule. Today my schedule was changes to accommodate the driver's meetings so had to be on the road at 7:15 instead of 8:30 as planned. When I got to the bus,I decided it wasn't scheduled to open until 10 am so went to the cafe and got a healthy snack of grapes & cheese and a yogurt parfait with some granola for lunch.

I am WINNING!

What makes you feel like you are WINNING this Wednesday? How can you continue on your WINNING path?

Well, even though this has been a week of too much food, I tried to do the best I could, and I know that I can get back on track and that I have the support and encouragement from my fellow sparkies to help me get focused again.

Being mindful of what I am eating...and actually eating!

I will have healthy snacks to take to work with me so that they are a reminder for me to stop and have something when I am busy.

Congratulations Mauri on your great weight elimination. You go girl!

My winning Wednesday...I have managed to stick to less than 10g of sugar in all processed foods since Monday when I started on this goal. I am reading labels very carefully as I have discovered that often the foods that are gluten free and "diet" compensate for the taste by adding more sugar! I am sticking to more fresh fruit and veggies and eliminating any processed things.

Mauri great job on the weight loss and not letting cravings take over during your move.

My winning Wednesday will be once again getting back on track after three days of eating out, I do have one more eating event on Thursday if the concert doesn't get canceled due to rain we have the taste of Charlotte going on along with the concert and area eating places set up food tents, but there will be such a variety I should be able to choose something that isn't too bad. I will start over, but will never, ever give up.

My WINNING WEDNESDAY celebrates that I managed to not cave into bad food behaviors during the stress of moving, and when I weighed in for my 5% challenge, I have eliminated 42 lbs since May 1, 2013, and 28 of them since January 1, 2014.

To keep WINNING, I do have to replace the trips up & down the stairs at my old place while carrying heavy boxes to donate, recycle or trash piles in the yard, with more intense exercise than I was doing before the move.

I woke early to walk...a win for me.
When I craved something sweet, I combined it with healthy eating and made a self crust gluten free pumpkin pie. Only 133 cal per 1/8 of the recipe, and it is actually half a vegetable. The win about this is that it is not empty calories, and especially that it is gluten free. The calories are actually less than 2 slices of my gluten free bread...........with no spread. I feel decadent.

If this was your last day, how would you spend it?

Mauri...CONGRATULATIONS on being a winner! Awesome steps forward.

I too am finding that the Fill-a-meter challenge is helping me. It is once again becoming second nature to me to drink all my water each day. I've been doing well with the tracking also, except for yesterday as I wasn't sure of how many calories were is a couple of things that I ate, so I had to guess. Back on track though again this morning.

I would have to say that it is the Fill-a-meter challenge that is making me feel like I am winning. I haven't weighed myself as yet and not sure when I'm going to do that, but I'm feeling much better and that is what counts.

Everyone is doing such an awesome job with our Fill-A-Meter Challenge and sticking to behaviors that will help us reach our goal.

What makes you feel like you are WINNING today?

This morning as I looked for a Wednesday challenge, I noticed this one that we did in Sept 2012. When I opened it, one of the things that made me feel I was winning 13 months ago was to have put up a sign on my kitchen door that reminded me to eat healthy foods during our busiest season at the Foundation.

Reading that made me realize I am WINNING because this year I don't need a sign. As a result of my *Spark* Restart plan, I am just doing that naturally - with a few off days, but I'm doing it and seeing the results of my efforts with eliminating (as of this morning) 13 lbs since May 1st.

Indeed a WINNING WEDNESDAY for me!

Mauri...thank you for Winning Wednesday.

We get so caught up in "what we don't have" and forget to give thanks for all that "do have".

I am practicing the daily lessons in the book The Magic by Rhonda Byrne. Love how we can through very little effort turn our thinking around and learn to be grateful for all things. Doing these lessons have given me an added boost in my well-being.

I have a "short" article to post on a site-Today I went to the library and found the information needed. I have begun an outline. This is a winning situation for me because taking action
helps to relieve the stress.

I purchased some positive books for myself and my mother. This is a winning situation for me
because she likes the author and it will make a good birthday present for her to enjoy. I also win
because looking at the positive side of life is what I am working on currently.

Mauri as I was thinking about what to put in the huddle this morning, it's funny I was thinking winning Wednesday or we can all be winners and I come here and what do I see Winning Wednesday. Great challenge.

I am working on making exercise a consistent part of my life. I like to get to the gym early in the morning but if there is something going on and I can't make it in the morning, I need to work it in later in the day, the time of day doesn't really matter, it's still exercise. So that makes it a win, win situation.

Sometimes we can get too focused on the weight loss, so am trying to reset my focus on healthy, if I do the healthy things the other will follow. Win.

After watching Amie Copeland, the young woman who lost her 4 limbs to a viral infection, define herself by what she has and not by what she has lost, I think we need to acknowledge what winning strategies we are doing to help us along our journey.

For me:
1. As I enter the busiest part of my work season (only 4 days off this month), I have posted a reminder on my kitchen door that I can read each morning and night to be aware of what i am choosing to eat. Last year I completely went off into just grabbing something with no thought. A WIN!

2. Though I have very little time for any length of time, I am fitting it movement whenever I can - walking around the Hope Bus, cleaning it, lifting boxes. I WIN!
