Mauri...thank you for this challenge today. I needed this today for work.

here's my 3 things.

9. Spend five minutes focusing on your breath every day.

20. Spend five minutes a day repeating a positive affirmation you’ve set yourself.

10. Take time out each day to watch your thoughts play out like a film — observing without judgement.

Mauri...you are amazing. You have taken the first step and now just continue walking forward. The rest will come in time. Many hugs.

I'm willing to recognize and learn from those negative moments that happen each day. I've really noticed that if I let them go as soon as I recognize them and don't dwell on them, they get smaller and smaller in my mind and eventually they don't exist. As I stop taking on the burden of how others react or their actions to things and only focus on my own reactions and actions that life is so much easier. I can only change myself now others.

Thanks Mauri for reminding me that I have to be willing.

What are you willing to do to turn a negative thing into a positive?; Maybe it's to reach a step towards your goal to a healthy lifestyle, a new job, repair a relationship, acknowledgement of something that has happened...We all have something we need to change. What will you do?

For those who read my blogs, you know I have an ongoing challenge with my cousin Lola and our relationship. I've been spending more time with her since my Italian cousins who are here include her brother and sister. The crack in Lola's and my relationship began coloring my visits to my cousins. Somehow yesterday it finally clicked in my mind, thanks to the challenge Wanda posted. I decided to let bygone behavior on both our parts fade away, forgave me and her, and start anew. When I arrived at her house last evening, I simply told her, "I've missed you." That's was my apology to us both. My intent is to continue our communication in some form, since I work days and she works nights. I am WILLING to take the steps required to maintain a level of comfort and communication with her.

What one thing are you willing to do today to help reach your goal of a healthy lifestyle?

I am so struggling to drink my 8 glasses of water. Partly because I keep forgetting to bring water to work since the water there has a heavy chlorine taste, and sometimes runs brown. Yuck. I WILL go pack some bottles now so I remember to bring them.

One thing that you are willing to change for today?

No Halloween candy from the candy bowl at work. (YAY, mission accomplished)
I will keep a positive attitude, even if I have to shovel snow !

Ok, what one thing are you willing to change for today?

Not drink pop or sweet juices.
No fast food.
No sweets, cake, cookies, candy, ice cream.
Will take stairs instead of elevator.

These are just a few ideas, I am sure you can come up with more, but remember it's just one thing for today,

No fast food today.

What a great reminder....I need to be "willing" to let go of those things I can not change and to accept my part in being responsible for the things I can change. Thanks Lexie and Shirl.

I willing let go of the negative in my life. No longer giving it head room rent free!

Thanks Shirl. I've checked the legality of the issue, and they are definitely in the wrong, so I can contact their complaints department and get it straightened out, with any luck. :-)
Thanks to some Sparkfriends, I've also had a great laugh today, which dissipated my annoyance beautifully. There is nothing like a belly laugh to make you feel better. :-)

I am willing to work to let go of the negative feelings caused by a utility company's unwillingness to accept blame for a bill mess-up. Otherwise it will ruin my day, and their phonecall has already upset my morning.

I am willing to: do all my son's laundry...even if his socks stink! It's that or die from the smell *grin* If he would only put things in the laundry for me to do up, they wouldn't build up in his room until I have to threaten him. What is it with guys????
