Hi John, by asking why they weren't blessing number one, they truly missed the point that no matter what their number, they had some how been a blessing to you, and in turn that should have blessed them. Can't please all the people all the time so I don't try, I just do the best I can, to be the best I can and if people can't accept that, I can't help that either and just go on my way. Hope you are starting to feel better. This is a good challenge, thank you.

Hugs,
Shirl

I don't see any mistake on your part. Great exercise in letting go of the "people pleasing" reflex. That's how I relate, anyway. I guess we all want to be number one in the blessings department. But, our job is to be a blessing without regard to seeking the "gold medal" in the blessings race. This site provides great opportunity for personal growth with valuable lessons in our relationship skills. Relationship with ourselves, our old best friend FOOD, other people. . . it's a great tool for self discovery and re-training!
Keep up the good work John.

I believe that will be my epitaph. I made the mistake of letting people know when I wrote them what blessing number they were that day. a couple wrote back and wondered why they were blessing number twenty five instead of blessing number one.

Isn't there a quote somewhere "It's better to ask for forgiveness than to ask for permission" LOL.

John, we welcome anyone's comments, challenges and support. Hope you are feeling better.

It's okay. Part of what has kept me in trouble from age 5 on was asking forgivness instead of permission.

Hi John. (rule breaker!) I must explain, since you don't know me that well, that I am a terrible teaser. I was raised by the world's finest teaser and it comes naturally. From one rule breaker to another, Counting your blessings is what I have learned to do each time I blog. I just call them my positives du jour. It's a great practice of getting your focus on straight. Wanda gifted me with that practice some time ago and it really is the basis of my whole healthy new endeavor. Glad you had some time to "browse" today and look on the bright side. Keep up the good work.
Sincerely,
Nancy

John, there is nothing wrong with that at all. In my blogs, I call them my blessings but they are things for which I am most grateful that day...and there are many things for which I should be thankful but don't notice...Hey, maybe that will be Writing Wednesday's challenge...Thanks for the idea!!

I hope I am not breaking any rules by coming up with a challenege. If I have I beg your forgivness.

I am home sick today, with the crud. On the positive side I have a chance to read the blogs of all my Spark Friends. As I read them I strated keeping track of the things and the people and the events I am thankful for. I started writing them down. I am plesantly amazed at how many things I have to be thankful for.

I know its not original but it opened my eyes a lot
