Well, veggies are carbs, they are just not calorie-dense. ;) What kind of carbs are you currently eating? If already whole-grain, I'd swapping some of those for beans and other legumes (lentils, split peas). If you are eating more refined carbs (white rice, most breads, pasta), switching to whole grains will add some protein. With the veggies, it is just a matter of re-thinking the proportions on your plate. Veggies form the base of the plate, or take at least half the plate, if you're keeping your foods separate, and then the protein and denser carb portions take up 1/4 or less each. If you're still short on protein after modifying your carb sources, you can always increase our protein portion by a little bit. Also, don't over look the protein in vegetables. There is actually quite a bit, relative to the total calories in many veggies (spinach and broccoli, for example). Nuts and seeds have protein as well, but are high in fat, so if you're already towards the top end of your fat range, they aren't going to help you balance your nutrient ratios (though I always use them as a primary fat source, some of the "good fats").

I seem to consume more fat and carbs, than I do protein and veggies.
Where do you get your protein? I love meat, but maybe I don't neat enough?
And, what veggies are the healthiest to eat/your favorite?
Also, what fruits?

Bottom line, I would like to know the best things to eat in terms of fruit, veggies, and protein! (For example, different types of meat and fruits are healthier than others). PLEASE fill me in! :) Thanks a bunch!
