Since I just joined the team, this will be an abbreviated post...

Progress questions:

1. What specific results have you achieved so far this year?

I've lost 20 pounds, but more importantly I've gained a ton of knowledge about how I should be eating, exercising, improving my metabolism and taking care of myself to minimize or control various health issues.

2. Are you healthier, wealthier and wiser?

Certainly healthier with the weight loss, walking and biking as well as drinking over 100 oz of water a day.

I'm wiser because of all of the reading and learning that I've done on my own. I'm very motivated to learn all that I can to improve my health in every way I can.

I'm wealthier in a way that money can't buy. I found a truly wonderful, compassionate doctor who is helping me tremendously. He's worth more to me than I or the insurance company could ever pay!!!

3. Are you gaining, losing or just holding ground?

I'm losing and hope to continue. I reached my first goal this week!

4. What results are you committed to achieve by the end of the year?

I want to lose another 10 lbs by December 1st. I'm taking the slow and steady approach. I'd like to hope for another 5 in December, but I think that's very ambitious.

Goals:

Track your nutrition every day this week. Done!

Track your exercise every day this week. Done!

Blog your blessings, even if it's only one line every day this week. It will help you to see your blessings in black and white to remain clear about your blessings.

I very seriously keep an attitude of gratitude. I focus on the many blessings that I've been given. My best friend and my doctor are two of many.

My reward for this week....hmmm. Maybe it's taking the time to relax and watch some rented movies.

Wow, this is a great challenge! just what I needed!

Sept 20th to Sept 26th Challenge

Progress questions:

1. What specific results have you achieved so far this year?

Tremendous!

Fitness/Nutrition: I put these together since they are extremely intertwined for me, they work 100% together to manipulate my muscle growth and fat loss. I was able to gain 14 lbs of muscle without gaining fat!!! Had to get over the mental anguish of seeing scale weight go up. Learned to focus on how I look vs how much I weigh!!

Financially I have gone from nearly losing my condo and becoming homeless to getting back on my feet-in tons of debt but I won't be homeless!!

Emotionally: big area for me, I realized that I had built a big wall around my heart and was pushing people away for 19 years out of fear of being hurt. That's almost half my life!!! I was single by choice. I finally opened up and let someone in, in fact I actually pushed away the very same person 13 years ago. So glad he came back and found me!

Linguistically, I am back to speaking Portuguese fluently and tons of words, expressions etc are coming back!! such a beautiful language!!

2. Are you healthier, wealthier and wiser?

Healthier physically, mentally, and emotionally!Need to work on my spirituality.

3. Are you gaining, losing or just holding ground?

Gaining knowlege, wisdom, confidence, weight wise losing fat slowly getting ready to compete again. Found out that gaining muscle is fun (I get to eat a ton of food, and not get fat!!)

4. What results are you committed to achieve by the end of the year?

1. Rocking big time at the next competition in November! Be in my best shape ever!!!

2. Moving forward in repairing my relationship with my mother

3. declutter, completely clean and reorganize and redecorate my condo in preparation for my special visitor

4. make plans for a new career-renew my Personal trainer certification, take steps to make this a reality.

Goals:

Track your nutrition every day this week.

Progress questions:

1. What specific results have you achieved so far this year?

I eliminated 10 pounds permanently.

2. Are you healthier, wealthier and wiser?

I am in a far better place mentally. I am wealthier by the fact that I no longer spend money to try and fill the "void". I've become much more frugal and discerning about where my resources will do the most good toward my Healthy Lifestyle. I am healthier. When I started this process 2 years ago I had just given up smoking and was overeating to compensate. I am in a much better health space now. I feel stronger.

3. Are you gaining, losing or just holding ground?

Right now I am losing. After a week of "clean living" and tracking, I am moving forward toward my goals.

4. What results are you committed to achieve by the end of the year?

When I first read this I answered with my goal from a year from today, but I want to re-answer with my shorter term goal of what I would like to achieve by the end of 2009. (15 weeks from now) (2 lbs. a week)
Eliminate 30 pounds! That's what my goal is.

Progress questions:

1. What specific results have you achieved so far this year?

I set 4 areas for this year.

NUTRITION: Had "fallen off the wagon" but since my September challenge started, I am MINDFUL of what I am eating.

FITNESS: Still working on this. Bought a pedometer to replace the one that broke...and just having it for a week, I've nearly doubled my lazy 2000 or so steps.

FINANCE: Sticking to the plan - don't buy without giving myself 2 or 3 days to decide if it's WANTED or NEEDED. Paying down debt.

DECLUTTERING: (think I called it something else, but it means this) I would say for 75% of this year I've stuck to removing 3 things from my apartment daily, other than the everyday trash/recycling.

2. Are you healthier, wealthier and wiser?

Definitely moving to healthier...Didn't gain back all that I had lost, so that means that about 24 lbs. are eliminated, and I am working at eliminating the 10 that found their way back!

Wealthier in friendship, spirituality, forgiveness (for me & others), compassion and kindness.

Wiser in understanding myself, recognizing the lessons from my Spark Teams, and in doling out that forgiveness, compassion and kindness in which I have wealth.

3. Are you gaining, losing or just holding ground?

WEIGHT: I've found 10 lbs of the 34 originally lost, but have lost 7 of those with my September Challenge. SO GAINING GROUND.

UNDERSTANDING: I'm understanding what drives me, what brings the depression and how to deal with it to find the positive side and remove that black "bag." SO, GAINING GROUND.

SPIRITUALITY: Returning to being open to G-d to lead and guide me to where I can do the most to better me, those with whom he has gifted me, my home, my work, and the world. SO, GAINING GROUND.

NUTRITION: Holding ground.

FITNESS: Lost ground...but October 1st is my "let me at it" day. Giving myself September to get nutrition in place.

FINANCE: Holding ground.

DECLUTTERING: Gaining ground.

4. What results are you committed to achieve by the end of the year?

Well, the "end of the year" for me is Feb. 3rd, since that's the date I chose for my September Challenge. That's ELIMINATING 30 lbs by then.

Goals in the areas of nutrition, fitness, finance, and decluttering remain as on my Spark Page.

Lastly, it's using these last months to really use my 2009 word of the year: MINDFUL.

I've had some feed back that some of us really liked the getting back to basics and each day recording their tracking and blogging. I know I really felt the difference this week as I committed to the challenge. So this week it will also be included in the challenge.

Progress questions:

1. What specific results have you achieved so far this year?

I've been able to maintain plus or minus a couple of pounds that I've gained or eliminated over the past year. This is not my goal, but through this "maintaining" I've learned that I need to follow a basic program for myself in order to find the success I am aiming for.
I've learned that when I follow the leading of God, things will work out, when I take on too much, I begin to falter.

2. Are you healthier, wealthier and wiser?

Definitely Healthier, well the wealthier would apply to life and spirituality, as the renos have been draining the money pot! lol, Wiser...in some areas, as I've opened myself up to learning what works for me and what doesn't.

3. Are you gaining, losing or just holding ground?

Mostly holding ground in the weight department with an oops here and there and then a serious attitude about getting that oops back under control.
Gaining ground in the spiritual and emotional side of self.

4. What results are you committed to achieve by the end of the year?

I'm committed to eliminating 10 pounds by year end. May not sound like much, but it's my goal that I believe is achievable as I get serious about the elimination and if I surpass it WOO HOO!
