Hey guys! Good work to all that are still in!

I haven't done one of these monthly LMS's before. Do we just keep on going, on declare it a tie for all those remaining and start again for June?

Thanks for the tip on the book. I eat quite healthy now, but I seem to be in a bottleneck in getting to my 200 lb goal. Possibly need to just be patient.

Perhaps understanding the role of carbs might help me. I do eat alot of fruit, which is healthy but expect is high in carbs.

Heh, thanks. You've done pretty good yourself! Actually, I could go to five guys if I wanted (and if they had them near me!) but I could only eat the burger - no bun. April 24 I started low-carbing after reading Gary Taubes "Why we get fat". Which explores the science behind how we store fat and the role carbs play. I was a big skeptic before about this, and concidered it a fad, , but Taubes sets out a pretty convincing argument. Anyhow, lost 15 lbs so far, eating meat (including bacon and chicken wings), cheese, eggs and I'm actually eating more veggies now than I ever did before! Not counting calories at all. Just not eating anything with a carb count over 1g or 2g!

I feel better, sleep better, haven't had brain fog, and have lost 2in. off the waste!

My body is basically going straight to burning fat for fuel, which itself burns more calories than using glucose for fuel. At first the cravings were strong but now I don't really crave carbs at all! Plus I've cut out caffeine which I think has helped a lot too!

Anyhow, thought I'd pass this along in case others want to try it. Might want to read the book first (its available on audiobook too).

Wow I made it! It was a tough week. A friend was visiting from Japan. He wanted he visit BBQ restaurant one night, Five Guys burgers another night and Alberto's mexican food a third night. So that 3 pounds is much impressive once you know that. Hopefully, next week will be less challenging.

Is anyone interested...

This challenge, is a challenge within our team, beginning May 1. It will end when we are down to a single player.

Your first weigh-in, occurring this week before May 1, will be your entry into the challenge. After that post your weight ONCE each week, as a reply to this message. Each subsequent posting must be on or before the 8th, 15th and so on.

You must LOSE weight to continue playing. If you do not lose, you are out for this challenge.

You must create a NEW post each week to continue playing. If you miss a week, you are out for this round, but can join a new last man standing challenge next month.

The last one(s) standing will win an Amazing prize, in the form of Spark Goodies.
