You don't flatten them...they will flatten on their own. Just be sure to roll them in the sugar before placing them on your cookie sheet. YUM! I hope you enjoy them as much as I do. I have to pop them in the freezer after I bake them or I will lose control and eat way too many.

These are delicious and I think are only about 50 calories per cookie. You could always put the ingredients in the recipe builder and determine calorie content for sure. I'm not positive of calories but I know they are only 1 WW POINT each.

You could also revise recipe by substituting 1/2 wheat flour, egg beaters; and splenda if you choose.

GINGER SNAPS
3/4 cup(s) shortening
1/4 cup(s) Blackstrap molasses
1 item(s) egg
2 cup(s) all-purpose flour
1/4 tsp table salt
2 tsp baking soda
1 tsp ground cinnamon
1 tsp ground cloves
1 tsp ground ginger
1 cup(s) sugar

Cream shortening & sugar. Add molasses & egg. (Beat) Add dry ingredients. Mix well. Roll into balls, dip in sugar. Bake 12-15 min in 375 oven.

My favorite are gingersnaps and if you are interested I can share the recipe. They are a good low cal option if you are dying for a sweet cookie. They are not made with low fat or sugar free ingredients but are still a better option than choc chip or peanut butter cookies (which are one of the worst).

It is my grandma's recipe and when I lost my 55 lbs...I was determined to not give up or revise this family favorite.

Anyone have any yummy, low-calorie cookies? I'm constantly always baking things and giving them away to friends because I feel guilty if I indulge in super high-cal sweets! I'd love to bake something and actually be able to eat it myself, for once! Vegan recipes are welcome, as well!
