John, experienced your condition several times over the course of my career--in fact I had it in mind to warn you of it. Wish I had. I think it's akin to post-partum depression in new mothers.

I think you are dead on. I added weight lifting in December and it got me motivated to track food, nutrients, etc. You just need a new challenge.

I spent nearly a year preparing for my Ragnar Relay and the movie, From Fat To Finish Line. And I had the most amazing experience in Florida running with the team. But since then, I've struggled with everything. After the relay, I have done nothing. Literally. The only other time I worked out at all was to run the Carlsbad Marathon. (Crazy, right? Work out once in a month and it's a full marathon?)

Anyway, my teammate has described it as Post Goal Attainment Syndrome. I think he may be on to something, I chased something so long and wanted it so badly, and then I got it. And afterwards, I'm struggling to find something else that can motivate me.

I know there's a way back. And part of finding it is reaching back out to my Spark community. So here I am.
