Hello all! I am really struggling with my youngest child (age 8) not having any idea of when to stop eating. Her portion size is so distorted that I do not know where to begin. Things I have tried in the past are to wait 20 minutes before she has more food, which will often work if we have the time to do it and to say that second servings must be more fruit and veggies, not the protein and grains that were part of the first serving. It is just such a battle it wears me down. I do not want to set up a food battle with my kids, how do I motivate my child to want to eat healthy, to see that I am not trying to be mean?
Thank you for any advice you can give!
Positive Incentives to help me reach my goals: 1. After four weeks of consistently exercising 30 minutes a day (before work on work days) and on the weekends I will buy myself an outfit. (Due on 8/22/16)
2. After I have lost 5 pounds I get to have a pedicure.
3. I will track what I am going to eat for the day in the morning so that I eat smart, stay within my nutritional goals and make smart food choices. If I do this for one month I will take my family on a fun outing
