Now I know some people are not drinking cow's milk for either personal beliefs or lactose intolerance, so putting that aside, do your kids drink some kind of milk at meals or is it daily or weekly or not so much?
I grew up with soda. My mom loved Diet Coke. I don't drink soda anymore. She also packed juices and still has lots of juices in her diet.
I let my kids have soda and juices on "special occasions" like birthday parties. Other than that, fat free milk is at the table for every meal and water is for in between. This was after a couple of years...trust me I did not think it was important at first. I took a nutrition class a couple months ago and that was a wake up call. Soda and juice seem to be displacing milk in our diets.
