That's really cool - and what a great way for the two of you to spend time together! I was just talking to my kids today (12,8 & 5) about starting geocaching as a way to get more exercise and they're totally psyched about it!! Whatever works right??

Spiegy, you gotta sneak up on em individually and see if you can get them to agree. We volunteered at the marathon last year and gave out water, so he knew it from that angle. I think that helped. One day on a walk I just asked him and he said yes.

Hey all the sudden I'm having fun. I try not to worry about things I can't control, but I can control what I eat and whether I surrender and sit still or whether I get up and GO

That is AWESOME! I'm doing the c25k this spring, and I've been dropping hints to my 12-year-old son & my husband that wouldn't it be great if we all did it together! So far the response hadn't been enthusiastic, but I'm going to keep working on it...

Congratulations!

Great Idea. Perhaps keeping track of the distance and time would help. I have a couple of different routes I take when walking the dog. This way before I leave for work I know how far I'm going and how long it will take

Awesome!

You always have a choice. No food has the power to make you eat it, and no one else determines your values or priorities. Sure, the situation may be difficult; sometimes you may have to choose between less than ideal options, or even pick the lesser of two evils. But the choice is always yours, and the only way to fail in the long run is to fail to choose.

My son and I finished a half marathon on Saturday.
We just started taking fitness walks together last year. Who knew?
He's a 14 year old video addict. But now he's also a distance walker. He's agreed to go next year and so have 3 of his buddies from high school.
