Your weight loss of 28 pounds from the middle of June through the middle of September is just about right. It is best to lose weight slowly at about 1-2 pounds a week. You can do it! Take care and keep in touch.
Please notice that the SUICIDE PREVENTION numbers are posted on this thread at the very top, so that our members who are in need of those numbers can find them without have to scroll down the thread searching for them.
THANK YOU and HUGS Pam

I know that you know that you can't shake all that weight as quickly as you'd like. Please be kind to yourself and allow yourself some backsliding along the way. Perfection is a drag. Give yourself full credit for all the good things you do.

I know I should be happy, but I'm not. I would never try to kill myself. I've tried so many times in the past and a couple of those times, wound up on an icu unit. I'm just not at the weight that I think I should be by now. On June 10th of this year (2011), I was 265 pounds. As of yesterday (September 16th 2011) I weighed 237 pounds. I could be alot less if I hadn't messed up time and time again. I have a hubby who love me, 4 beautiful "babies" (cats) and a 18 year ikd daughter in Pennsyslvania (that I haven't seen in 6 years) that still loves me despite the fact I've been a lousy mother to her. She thinks that I'm pretty and that I'm perfect the way I am. I started to seriously strength train as of today (September 17 2011) and I know that I can lose more weight if I just can get back on track and stay that way.

Hello,
I too, once made a "sincere" effort at taking my life. That was 15 years ago and I couldn't have imagined at the time that there was any reason for hope in my life.
I am very grateful I failed. I have two great sons, a wonderful wife, house, Corvette, horse, etc.
I owe it to medication, therapy and myself.
Please hang on and learn to manage your condition instead of having it manage you.
Love, Arturo

I know this topic all too well. I actually did try to kill myself 3 times in a 2 week span. The hardest part was that the first time I tried my 16 yr old daughter walked in on me. I was hospitalized three times and the third and final attempt I ended up in a Mental Health Hospital.
It was quite an eye opener for me. I still have issues to deal with but I now know that I do not want to die. Unfortunately I still have other issues to deal with such as knowing I am loved but believing it, feeling hopeless, not being able to see the light at the end of the tunnel. Things like that.
There are still times that I would prefer to be back at the hospital but I know that is not the answer. I am getting the help I need, but they do feel that the surgery brought up all these old emotions, they also feel that maybe my medications weren't being absorbed appropriately.
All I have to say is that this is not the way to go. "checking out" is not the answer. It only creates a whole lot more to deal with. Also you should think of your family and friends that would miss you and love you so much. Think of all the sadness and Let's use this team and website to support each other in every way we can!!

Thank you so much for that info. It is especially needed at this time of year. A friend of mine took his own life a month ago and I wish he would have called one of those numbers. Thanks again.
DIET IS A FOUR LETTER WORD!!!!
We are constantly creating our "karma" or destiny through our intentions, thoughts and deeds in this moment. It is achieved through countless deliberate acts of selflessness.
It's hard to be happy with others if we are not happy with ourselves.
Just keep on moving and you'll get there.
If you ever want to feel good about yourself, go out and help someone else!
