It's an above-ground pool, and we've had several feet of snow over the past few weeks. There was ice, slush, snow and water on top of it. My father had a pool when I was a teenager that collapsed due to the weight of all the snow on it, so I don't want to take any chances. Once spring hits I'll buy a pump and drain off the excess water off the cover before we open the pool.

Technically, by the rules it would be, but it was a guideline so I could do the totals for the first week today, and I have not done them yet. In fact, I was not planning to do them this morning. I will wait until I get back from work to do them. So you are OK!

So, living in New England gives me an alternate (yet necessary) workout in the winter - shoveling snow. We got a whopper today (and I don't mean the burger from BK) - some parts of the state could get THREE FEET of snow! My husband and I bought a house in November so we haven't exactly had a lot of extra money for things like a snow blower - so we ended up shoveling for a total of 3-1/2 hours today! So, add 210 minutes of cardio onto our team's total. WOO HOO!

I've taken a break from doing my C25K on my treadmill, I definitely couldn't take it anymore!

For today I did:
28 Day Bootcamp Challenge 2x's = 15 minutes
Biggest Loser Interteam Challenge (Reverse Crunch, Crunch & Wall Squats with Ball), 2 sets of 10 = 10 minutes
Jillian Michael's Yoga Meltdown (Circuit Training) = 35 minutes
Total time: 60 minutes

Walking up/down the stairs at work (6 stories) 3 times - 10 minutes
Walking around the parking lot on lunch - 20 minutes
Walking/jogging on the treadmill - 25 minutes

Hello team B! Welcome to the cardio challenge! I'm excited, and I'm hoping the challenge will keep me motivated to exercise for the next two weeks.

Does anyone else get bored using the treadmill? What other fun or creative ways do you find to get your cardio in? I work in a 6-story building so I like to walk up/down the stairs at least once during the day, and I like to walk around the parking lot on my lunch break. Now that it's winter, I've found shoveling snow is a great way to get in cardio (and a necessity since I don't own a snow blower yet!).
