This is an interesting way to track weight. I was thinking of weighing in just weekly - on Saturday morning, since weekends can cause a blip. But I like your approach too. I also like your quotes.
I just turned 61 this summer and for some reason it has negatively affected my self-image. I don't feel old, and most people think I am much younger than I am, but somehow the number is playing with my mind. I like your positive attitude.

2 lbs. sounds very reasonable....

I too would love to see at least 2 - lbs gone by the 15th... I am hoping for a loss of at least 2 - 4 lbs... this Sept...

1250 words this month... 1500 would be very nice. As I've said before, writing makes me want to Run Screaming Into the Night (RSIN).

As for weight goals... I would REALLY like to break through this plateau! Would losing 2 pounds be unreasonable?

We all have daily weight fluctuations and selecting only two days out of the month to weigh gives me little useful information. It makes those two weigh ins more important than they should be. I use the advice of Drs. Heller who wrote the book Carbohydrate Addicts Diet LifeSpan Book. They suggest weighing every day and averaging the weight of all seven days and giving a weekly average. This gives me a more accurate image of what is happening and tells me what my trends are and if I need to make corrections. For example, I gain a pound or two on the weekend, as I go out to eat then, but usually lose it plus some during the week. This is valuable information as it is repeated every weekend. I have made corrections as it used to be gain 3 or 4 pounds and lose a half pound for the week. I can also judge how my activity level affects my weight too. No one day is critical and I don't obsess on any one weigh in, but I do pay attention to the weekly average as it tells me which way I am trending.
