To change sizes rather than pounds is faster and easier with weight training. Add weight training with resistance machines (the safest), dumbbells (the least expensive and very effective), or bar bells or a combination. You need little training to use machines and you can train alone. You should work with someone with bar bells or find a good book for dumbbells. Some people like personal trainers, I like doing it on my own with great instructions. Fortunately for us, SparkPeople provides some of the best instructional videos for all of the above on this site. Go for it!
