I have recently learned that whole grains are good, but it depends upon how they are processed. If they are ground into flour, then they are a very dense caloric food. If they are cooked as whole grains, not processed, then the water content and the fiber give you bulk and are very satisfying. Whole wheat bread with flour is very dense. Whole wheat pasta adds back water and bulks up and is less dense, i.e. less is more filling because of the bulk. This is a refinement that I learned from the Pritikin website recently. I look carefully and don't buy any products with flour except pasta and very little of this. I love the texture and taste of cooked whole grains. Whole grains can be an important part of a complete and balanced diet.

ok how do we sort all this information for and against. They both sound ok. A bit confusing. I like chans theory. I ate like that in my 20's and I was really healthy I also could not stick to it. As maybe I had more to learn in the affects of sabottaging. So I think eating a healthy diet of fruit and vegies is a good idea. Less bread and pasta's. Grains at a minimum. Plenty of fluid nice clean fresh water. I need the will to keep this up. As I think it is my downfall.

When I was in my twenties, I met a Yogi who taught me the virtues of the frugivarian diet. It consisted of only raw fruits, root and seed vegetables, and nuts. This diet excluded leafy vegetables. I followed this diet for about two years. I lost all excess fat, had very high energy, I was not bothered by high temperatures in the summer, my vision improved so I didn't need my glasses, my allergies disappeared, and I felt great. While my body did the cleansing, the lack of toxins and indigestible fried foods, etc, allowed my body to do its work unimpeded.

I gradually got away from this style of eating because it was only possible to order a side of tomatoes and cantaloupe in season in restaurants and this made it hard socially to follow. If I had followed it, I would have never gained all of the weight that the intervening years brought about. My brother and his family of five have followed this diet for years and they are all healthy, free of disease, strong, and full of energy.

So while I can't personally vouch for the lack of signs of aging mentioned in the article, this was the claim that the Prince Naton, the Yogi made back in the late '60s. I did a lot of reading on the subject at the time and all of it supported this diet as optimum for humans and our digestive system. Carnivores have very short intestines and ruminants have two stomachs to digest grasses and leafy foods. We have a similar digestive system to primate mammals whose primary source of food is fruit. Even in hunter-gatherer societies, the primary source of food was gathered in the form of huts, roots, and berries. Meat was an frequent treat.

Your renal system, and your liver, detoxify your system, not fruit.

If you eat bread and fruit together, they digest together, at the same rate. They are broken down in your stomach and mixed into a sludge, and pass into the duodenum together, as a sludge. The bread doesn't "block" the fruit.
The pH inside your stomach is extremely acid and this is not only normal, it is necessary.
Nothing inside your stomach can "spoil". Mold spores don't exist there, and there is no putrefaction process. When rot occurs inside a living organism, it is because of an entry wound, and it's called gangrene.

Grey hair and baldness won't happen if we consume fruit on an empty somach? Nope, I don't believe that either.

EVERYONE knows EXACTLY what they NEED to do to be fit, healthy, and slim.
The problem is, nobody does it.

We all think eating fruits means simply buying fruit, cutting it and just popping it into our mouths. You will benefit much more if you know how and when to eat.

Fruits should be eaten on an empty stomach…not as dessert after your meal as it is often done. If you eat fruit like this, it will also help to detoxify your system, supplying you with a great deal of energy for weight loss and other life activities

Let's say you eat two slices of bread and then a slice of fruit.

As fruit digests faster than bread, the slice of fruit digests quickly and is ready to go straight through your stomach into your intestines, but its passage is blocked by the bread which takes longer to digest…In the meantime the whole meal ferments and turns to acid.

Consequently, when the fruit comes into contact with the food in your stomach and digestive juices, the entire mass of food begins to spoil.

So it is better to eat your fruit on an empty stomach or before your meals!

You have heard people complaining – Every time I eat water-melon after dinner I burp. When I eat a banana I feel like running to the toilet etc – Actually all this will not happen if you eat your fruit on an empty stomach.

The fruit mixes with the putrefying other food and produces gas and hence you will bloat!

Graying hair, balding, nervous outburst, and dark circles under your eyes…all these will not happen if you eat your fruit on an empty stomach.

It is incorrectly presumed that some fruits like oranges and lemons are acidic and will enhance acidity in your stomach.

Research however shows that all fruits become alkaline in your body.

When you need to drink fruit juice – drink only fresh fruit juice, NOT from the cans. Don't drink juice that has been heated up. Don't eat cooked fruits because you don't get the nutrients at all. You only get to taste.

Cooking fruit destroys all the vitamins.

Eating the pulp or whole fruit is far better than drinking the juices. Fiber is good for you.

If you drink the juice, drink it mouthful by mouthful slowly, because you must let it mix with your saliva before swallowing it.

A 3-day “fruit fast” is a very simple and effective way to cleanse and de-toxify your body. Just eat fruits and drink fruit juice throughout the 3 days and you will be surprised when your friends tell you how radiant you look!

During the “fruit fast” you can eat different fruits at different times, although occasionally mixed fruit salad would also be permissible and more interesting.

If you have mastered the correct way of eating fruits, you have the secret of beauty, longevity, health, energy, happiness and normal weight.


You cannot get what you’ve never had unless you’re willing to do what you’ve never done.
