Thanks Karl for all your hard work! I have been extremely busy at work recently and this weekend was our annual family reunion so I have not been home much since Friday morning. I made a couple of trips home to pick up stuff, but my computer has not been on since Friday morning and I didn't have good enough cell service where I was to be able to keep up via my smartphone. I am not sure how much I will participate this month because I still have a lot going on at work and then we are leaving for a vacation mid-month. I will attempt to participate at least a little but I'm sure it won't be a lot.

Sorry for the delay. Been one of those weeks. Team stuff fell by the wayside as I tried to get caught up from last weekend with stuff at home and at work.

But...mini-week results are up and they look alot like the end of week 4...

1st place: CANDOIT54 with a PERFECT score of 60
2nd place: BESCATS with 45 points
3rd place: KARL1266 with 35 points

and that is it. I will get goodies out to all who participated in this month's challenge soon.

Congratulations to those who participated this week. I was lazy again and did not do it. I will check out the August challenge and see if I can get my butt in gear and work on doing it. It has been extremely busy at work lately and when I get home I seem to spend the entire evening getting dinner ready and catching up on the news and all my e-mail for the day. I hope you ladies in Maine are enjoying it. We have two more weeks to work and then we will be on vacation. I think we are going to PA again this year. I need to start thinking about what we will need to pack in the car and make sure I have everything. I need to remember to get the propane coffeemaker out of the camper after we use it this weekend and I will probably need to pick up a couple more disposable propane cylinders. We probably won't do a lot of cooking on the propane stove but we will use the coffeemaker every morning. Hubby's gotta have his coffee whether we are camping or not!

All you people in Maine are making me jealous! Just kidding. I'm heading over there in mid August for a week.

Week 4 Results are in and Goodies handed out. Congrats to

CANDOIT54 for a near perfect score this past week.
BESCATS came in second and Karl1266 (that would be me) came in third.

Vacations probably took their toll as we had less participants this past week than we did in week 3. Oh well. Just a few days to report this week and then we move on to an August Challenge!

See the post for August for details (but give me a bit...I'm still not ready for it yet!) Quite a few good ideas for a new challenge so let's see how it plays out!

I am back in Maine this week with lots of company . . . . my sisters and their hubbies are here and the boys are building a new porch/deck . . . .the girls are headed to Portland tomorrow for Trader Joes, the Portland Farmers Market and a surprise lunch for the sisters in Freeport at Harraseeket. . . . should be a nice day.

I've been out of town most of the past weekend and as such have barely registered anytime on Spark. I will get the week 4 results in hopefully tomorrow morning while my car is getting worked on. Then I'll start looking at the suggestions for an August Challenge and find a way to incorporate all ideas into an easier but still "pushing it" challenge for us to work on.

I was one of the slackers this week emoticon . I didn't track my food so I can't say if I stayed in range or not- some days I probably did and other days I doubt it. I also didn't do very well at eating my veggies. I did get in my exercise every day except for one, but I never got around to update my points. I would not have been in the running for any recognition anyway, but I did intend to post what I did do.

My goal is to do a walking work out everyday at work and to drink my 6-8 glasses of water.

FM= FITNESS MINUTES, CR = CALORIE RANGE,
OUT - OUTSIDE ACTIIVITY, STRK = STREAK

5 points for exercising at least 10 minutes a day
5 points for staying in your calorie range each day
5 points for doing something outdoors

Hi, I'm excited (and grateful) to participate in this challenge. My streak will be to walk down the driveway for the newspaper every morning. Our driveway is 1/2 mile each way so I guess I will be double dipping: Outdoor activity and the streak.
For example:

Hello,
I am excited to take part in this challenge!! My streak goal is to not eat or snack after 8:00
p.m. It is very difficult for me and I am going to try to stop...starting tomorrow.

My streak will be to eat at least two servings of vegetables per day. I know I should eat more, but there are many days I eat none, so if I manage at least 2 EVERY day it will be an improvement!

ANNIEK31 (and anyone else who might still be unsure)--Here is what you do:
Each day that you do at least 10 minutes of Fitness, log it here (as well as on your tracking page---Don't forget that) under FM (Fitness minutes) and you'll get 5 points

If you stay within your calorie range---give yourself 5 points
If you go outside and do something (can be anything--walk the dog, mow the lawn, geocache, whatever)---give yourself 5 points
If you have declared a streak you want to maintain and did that for the day---give yourself 5 points

We do this to help motivate us all because there are times when we all need it. Friendly competition is good and it's fun to cheer each other on as we move through the month.

It's not mandatory and you don't need to start on July 1. I'll be keeping track of everyone's progress to award goodies at the end of each week so jump in whenever you are ready!

My Streak Challenge will be no eating after 9 p.m.

I need a cheat sheet so copy if you want:
FM= FITNESS MINUTES, CR = CALORIE RANGE,
OUT - OUTSIDE ACTIIVITY, STRK = STREAK

For example:

Been out of touch these past few weeks but working out and down 2 pounds. Too hot to walk, however getting lots of swimming in. On the river swimming against a steady 6 knot flow. So working on keeping my heading to Tinker Island and back. Great thing is I can stand all the way out. It's 250 yards one way making it a 1/4 of a mile round trip. I do that twice a day.

My Streak Challenge will be to walk at least 7000 steps a day. Also to log in all my food. I've been traveling for the past 8 weeks making this difficult Walking is a difficult one for me as I love to swim so I'm hoping by tracking it here I will hold myself more accountable.
