It ended on the third - but I slipped off the face of the earth about the 20th or so of September while out of town.

With love and caring from Nancy ... wishing all of you a wonderful, blessed, and precious day.

I got lost there for a while but still blogged almost every day, lost weight - ended up losing 22 pounds over the course of the challenge. I stayed in my ranges, tracked water, food, and exercise. I disappeared when I got too far behind. I was out of town two weekends in a row, lost the internet and then was injured at school. I apologize for not getting the last week recorded but I loved this challenge. I am starting the pound a week challenge that just started up and hope to do as well as I have on the other 3 pound a week challenges (56 pounds since January 1 and through 3 of the challenges).

With love and caring from Nancy ... wishing all of you a wonderful, blessed, and precious day.

All 3 of my personal goals are good both days. Pain is less, so maybe I can continue this to the end,

I've a new Personal Challenge: To Walk 40 Minutes every day.
I'm still on track with Calories.
Doing Cardio, and Strength training.
Tracking everything.
Writing in my journal 3 x a week.
I believe fracking is necessary. I don't care if it's in my backyard, as long as the noisy equipment is miles away; we need to be producing our own oil.

Our numbers are dwindling. Miss MyTime. Hope her fracking work is pleasing her. I havn't made up my mind yet. . . and probably won't, as they aren't doing it in my backyard.

WEEK 12 -

I lost two (2) pounds the first week, lost FIVE (5) pounds for the second week, lost one (1) pound for third week, two (2) pounds for the fourth week, one (1) pound for the fifth week, one (1) pound in the sixth week, stayed the same for the seventh week, lost FIVE (5) pounds in the eighth week, lost three (3) pounds in the ninth week. I lost one (1) pound for the tenth week. Stayed the same for the eleventh week. I met ALL of my goals and earned all of my points for week ONE, week TWO, week THREE, week FOUR, week FIVE, week SIX, week SEVEN, week EIGHT, week NINE and week TEN. Starting week Twelve - since school demands are continuing this week, I don't think I am going to ADD to the demands. Instead I am focusing on the goals that are currently in place, and will continue to focus on the meditation, sleep, and tai chi from previous weeks and MAYBE getting to a 90 minute yoga class once a week. Since school started I am walking at least 10,000 steps every SCHOOL day and sometimes a lot more.

WEEK TWELVE - No added goals - focus on sleep, meditation, and tai chi (NOT mandatory, just focusing on them as they remain important. MIGHT try doing a 90 minute yoga class once a week but NOT MANDATORY)

I blog and log foods, water, and exercise
5 Points each day
BONUS 10 points if log every day ALL week
This is for all who join.

Next, I would like everyone to pick a goal for themselves for each category.

1)EXERCISE

Fulfill that goal for 25 weekly points.

Get a minimum of 6 days per week of exercise for at least 2 hours total time.

2) FOOD INTAKE

My goal for food intake is to eat healthy enough to continue with my weight loss, and to get adequate nutrition and not require insulin.

5 Points Daily, Bonus 25 Points if reach goal every day.

WEEK TWELVE - no added goals - working on the added goals from previous weeks sleep, meditation, and tai chi and maybe do the 90 minute yoga class once a week

9/20 - Met all my goals for this day. I blogged, tracked water, food and exercise, and stayed within my ranges. I did tai chi, slept well, and meditated. I earned all my points

9/21 - Met all my goals for today. I blogged, meditated, tracked food, water, and exercise, stayed within my ranges, did tai chi and slept well.

9/22 -

9/23 -

9/24 -

9/25 -

9/26 - Happy Birthday to me -- getting a half hour massage today for my birthday

With love and caring from Nancy ... wishing all of you a wonderful, blessed, and precious day.

9/14 report: calories excellent; hobby excellent; exercise none. Housework improved, but I don't count that, tho the more I can do the better off I am.

I read in a blog that a step back after advancing a step is not a failure, it's a cha cha. So even when my exercise backslides, I'm still cha cha -ing. Ole

WEEK ELEVEN - no added goals - working on the added goals from previous weeks sleep, meditation, and tai chi and maybe do the 90 minute yoga class once a week

9/13 - met all my goals - tracked food, water, and exercise (not until today 9/15 though because I was out of town) and stayed within my ranges. Slept well and meditated and did my tai chi. I did not blog because I was away, but kept a journal on paper that I will enter as part of today's blog and back date to the 13th.

9/14 - met all my goals - stayed within my ranges and tracked food, water, and exercise (not until today 9/15 as I was away and had no computer access - the same with the blog - I will post what I wrote on paper in my journal and date it for the 14th) - don't know if THOSE count but I honored the spirit, if not the letter of the rules. I also meditated, did tai chi, and slept well.

9/15 - I met all my goals, tracked my exercise, food, and water and stayed within my ranges. I am blogging, did my tai chi and meditations and plan to get to bed early.

9/16 - met all my goals, blogged, tracked food, water, and exercise, stayed within the ranges, got enough sleep, and earned all my points

9/17 - met all my goals, blogged, tracked water, food, and exercise and stayed within my ranges, got adequate sleep and earned all my points

9/18 - met all my goals, blogged, tracked exercise, food, and water, stayed within my ranges, and got enough sleep - earned all my points.

9/19 - Met all my goals, blogged, tracked exercise, food, and water, stayed within my ranges, got enough sleep and earned all my points

9/11 report. No on calories, no on exercise, yes on hobby.

Love my poem, mytime. I'll keep it and my trophy on my shelf to continue to inspire me. I wish you luck on your new endeavour, but I haven't made my mind up on fracking. It's hard to trust what anyone says these days -- or maybe it always has been, and I was just more gullible. Tell us how to find your opinion on the subject,

So glad yoga is working so well for you.
Sounds like your "New Year" is off to a great start.

FORESTPAL
Thanks Again for taking up the Dare with me...
Look to my last post for your poem. You RAWK!!!

MYTIME
I don't know....OK, I DO know, what happened. I got lazy & put myself behind other things going on this week. I could lie & say I will do better, but other than promising to get back to doing my floor exercises & working on my steps again, not sure what else will get done until Mon.
GOOD NEWS tho, the fella who is the chef for the conference is going to show me some stuff to do with tofu & I am gong to pick his brain on other vegetarian ideas. I would really like to get back to that kind of eating. Thinking about making the committment Jan 1st....
Want to be sure I am REALLY Committed.
ALSO, on Facebook today I created an event that is Nation wide thru 350.org
a Day of Action, Draw the Line . So will be working on that the next week.

So Ladies, our time is nearing to a close.
You have all been so dedicated, I applaud you.
I was not on here as much as I originally planned, but you all helped each other & have been a great team.
We ARE Stronger TOGETHER

Oh Boy!
They say you MAKE time for what really matters to you.
I am starting to wonder if losing weight right now is a real goal for me.
Maybe I should change my name to "MAKETime"
I have just been so involved with the Fracktivist Conference, which I will be leaving for early on Fri AM, so another week of late point totals.
emoticon

Anyway...I am going to do the points for Week 9, and I know week 10 is amost over.

FORESTPAL
I have to admit YOU Won!
I DID make it until Thurs. Then, being my own worst enemy,
I managed to "Forget" all about our challenge.
AND this week, so far I have ZERO Points!
YIKES!

So....my poem to FOREST

My dear friend, you took me up on my dare
I have to say, you made me care
Six whole days, you sat on my shoulder
Making me fierce, making me bolder

We both struggle, but I know we can do it
Everyone on our team is helping us through it
So remember the next time you're so hard on yourself
The imaginary "DARE" Trophy sitting on your shelf

You win this time, but that's okay
We're BOTH winners every day
We're strong, determined women, with a sense of humor
And that's the TRUTH, it ain't no rumor!

Here is to many more "Fully loaded" weeks, in life, love & happiness.
Congrats FOREST! emoticon emoticon

OK...going to put points up....

My internet connection failed, and it took days to figure out what was wrong. I can't brag about my personal challenge. I even missed all 3 marks some days . . like today. I used my frustration to eat several high calorie things. Even made mac & cheese for dinner tonight. I'll freeze the rest, and start anew tomorrow. Embarrased to abandon youall, but now I'm back.

Amazing how I missed Spark. I tried writing down food & etc., but couldn't even keep that up. So glad to be back with you all.

WEEK 10 -

I lost two (2) pounds the first week, FIVE (5) pounds for the second week, lost one (1) pound for third week, two (2) pounds for the fourth week, one (1) pound for the fifth week, one (1) pound in the sixth week, stayed the same for the seventh week, lost FIVE (5) pounds in the eighth week, and lost three (3) pounds in the ninth week. I met ALL of my goals and earned all of my points for week ONE, week TWO, week THREE, week FOUR, week FIVE, week SIX, week SEVEN, week EIGHT and week NINE. Starting week TEN - since school demands are continuing this week, I don't think I am going to ADD to the demands. Since school started I am walking at least 10,000 steps every SCHOOL day and sometimes a lot more.

WEEK TEN - No added goals - focus on sleep, meditation, and tai chi (NOT mandatory, just focusing on them as they remain important.)

9/9 - Met all goals for the day, earned all points - food, exercise and water tracked, within my ranges, blogged, meditated, and got a good night's sleep. Have a blessed day all.

9/10 - Met all my goals for today and earned all my points. Exercise, food, and water tracked and I stayed within my ranges. I meditated, blogged, and got a good night's sleep. Had an interesting day and am totally worn out.

9/11 - Met all my goals and earned all my points for today - Food, exercise, and water tracked and within my ranges. Meditated, blogged, and a decent night's sleep.

This has not been a good week for me. I used the excuse of "a lot of stress at work" to eat out and over eat several times this week and I just came from a wedding where I indulged in a piece of wedding cake even though I have been gluten free for over a year now.
On another challenge I am on, we start a no junk food week tomorrow and I am determined to stick with it. I am setting a goal right now to lose 10.9 pounds in the next 4 weeks so that I can make my 13 in 13 goal. I might have to check in with somebody several times a day to keep myself on track, but I am going to do it. Disney World is coming up fast and I want to be as light and healthy as I can by the middle of November.
This week I am narrowing my calorie range and upping my steps to try to get going in the right direction again.

Nancy Pat, you are so inspiring. Losing 100 pounds makes my goal seem all the more realistic. Thanks

Report for 9/3, 9/4. All systems good. Scale not cooperating, but I'm not giving up to that monkey on my back (or to you, MyTime).

Think I've figured out my exercise problem. My pain tolerance has only allowed exercise or housework. I'll do exercise 1st, and dribble drabble thru cooking, dishes, etc, etc.

WEEK 9 -

I lost two (2) pounds the first week, FIVE (5) pounds for the second week, lost one (1) pound for third week, two (2) pounds for the fourth week, one (1) pound for the fifth week, one (1) pound in the sixth week, stayed the same for the seventh week and lost FIVE (5) pounds in the eighth week (this is a little bit of a stretch because I lost 2 and then the very next morning was down another 3 - I waited until the first to make it official but really felt like I wanted to put it in week EIGHT even though it wasn't on my normal day because the first is when I change my ticker). I met ALL of my goals and earned all of my points for week ONE, week TWO, week THREE, week FOUR, week FIVE, week SIX, week SEVEN, and week EIGHT. I upped the ante on WEEK 2 and got at least 3000 steps in addition to my pool time, and on WEEK 3, I added getting 7+ hours of sleep and making sure to get up by 9 a.m. and succeeded in both weeks. It seemed reasonable to up the ante again for week 4 by adding meditation and Tai Chi to my goals. Now with WEEK 8 starting up, since school demands are also continuing this week, I don't think I am going to ADD to the demands. Instead I am focusing on the goals that are currently in place, and will continue to focus on the meditation, sleep, and tai chi from previous weeks. Since school started I am walking at least 10,000 steps every SCHOOL day and sometimes a lot more.

WEEK NINE - No added goals - focus on sleep, meditation, and tai chi (NOT mandatory, just focusing on them as they remain important.)

My goal for food intake is to eat healthy enough to continue with my weight loss, to get UNDER 250 pounds, and to get adequate nutrition and not require insulin.

5 Points Daily, Bonus 25 Points if reach goal every day.

WEEK NINE - no added goals - working on the added goals from previous weeks sleep, meditation, and tai chi.

8/30 - Met ALL my goals INCLUDING an unofficial 100 pounds lost - was shocked that I had dropped 3 pounds overnight since I just weighed in yesterday and still had 3 pounds to go - tracked food, water, and exercise, stayed within my ranges, slept, meditated, blogged, etc. REALLY an exciting day - on Sunday I will change my ticker and it might even be LOWER still.

8/31 - Met ALL of my goals including that same 100 pounds being absent from my body - not official until the first but it was still gone for the second day. I tracked food, water, and exercise, stayed within my ranges, meditated, blogged, slept well and long enough, etc.

9/1 - Met ALL of my goals and it is NOW OFFICIAL I have lost those pounds for REAL and am down 100 pounds. I tracked food, exercise and water, stayed within my ranges, blogged, meditated, etc. YIPPPPPPEEEE!!!!

9/2 - met all my goals for today, food, water, and exercise tracked, within ranges, blogged and meditated, and planning to get a good night's sleep tonight after sleeping well last night too.

9/3 - met all my goals for today, food, exercise and water tracked and within ranges, blogged, meditated, and heading to bed - so far I am on track with the sleep for this week hoping to keep it going.

9/4 - Met all my goals for today, water, food, and exercise tracked and within ranges, meditated, blogged, and heading to bed LATE - not enough sleep tonight.

9/5 - Met all goals for the day - food, water, and exercise tracked and within my ranges, meditated, blogged and heading to bed early enough to get a good night's sleep.

9/1 & 9/2: Accomplished all goals both days, except for posting here for the 1st.

Yesterday was a terrible struggle. Thought for sure I'd gone over my calorie target, but squeaked by. Exercise wasn't any easier. I only did it cause of the challenge & the dare. I am getting tired of flogging myself. Of course the main motivation is losing the weight.

For my water, I've gone back to an old trick of adding a wedge of an orange. Freshens the water wonderfully, and sneaks in another fruit.

Let the good times increase as the weight shrinks.

There are always going to be those who drop off - that is the nature of the beast - have even done ONE week challenges where people pooped out before the week was over.

The 13 week time frame was originally set back in January when a group started with the idea of losing 13 pounds in 13 weeks in 2013. When that challenge ended, we started another, and eventually a third - this challenge sprouted off the original one when it started with its 3rd incarnation. Let's finish this one and then rethink at a later date if people don't want to continue with such LONG challenges. I am super happy with the challenges and since the original 13 in 13 in '13 challenge started have lost more than 50 pounds. I am also happy with the time frame.

With love and caring from Nancy ... wishing all of you a wonderful, blessed, and precious day.

You are exactly right, life IS grand.
So glad you took me up on my dare. I feel like you are whispering in my ear this week.
Saying..."Move it, Move It" lol

Looking forward to seeing how good we feel by the end of this month, cuz I feel it already has a great start.

MAJONES
Coming together helps us all. I am noticing that people are dropping off a little.
I have done challenges in the past where that happens. Makes me think 13 weeks is too long.
Maybe do Monthly ones. I will have to think about that the next Challenge thread I start.
We each have our own cycles & gotta figure out the best way to ride the crests & get past the lows. I feel having others with similar goals, ideas, helps.
emoticon
Thanks to everyone who is sticking through this second half.

MYTIME
I am going bike riding with hubby tomorrow along the lovely Chattanooga River walk.
It is so beautiful, I will not even feel like I am exercising.

Hope you all had a wonderful day & got to spend time with the ones you love.

You have blogged about having a good week-end so far. I hope it follows
you all through the week, you deserve a spectacular week.

FORESTPAL
Thanks for taking up the Dare with me...I KNOW it will help push me this week.
It already helped yesterday when I did not feel like logging food.
AND, if you read my blog, it also help make me even more determined not to use any excuses for doing my floor exercises this morning.
emoticon We will both be stronger this week.

MYTIME
As my reward for do floor exercises every day in Aug, I went & got a tattoo I have been wanting. A warrior Angel. It made my floor exercises more interesting this AM, as I wrote in my blog.

JIMMY & ROZZIE
Our weeks run Fri thru Thurs. concurrent with the "Lose 13 Pounds in 13 Weeks" Challenge.
I like to have points in by Sat Noon. But, since I have been running so late getting totals done, even Sun Noon would be ok. Come on back & see us! Great way to get some good habits started before the Holiday Rush begins

Yes JIMMY, carbs are a big downfall of mine too.
But we can work on our habits & learn to balance. That is why we are all here.
emoticon

ROZZIE
Exercise, yup, it IS hard to get into a habit.
All I can suggest is to start SMALL! Don't set yourself up for failure.
First time I was here at Spark (& lost over 100 pounds)
I only started with promising myself 25 crunches a day. It was start, and it snowballed.
The other best thing, try & find something you enjoy. I love the Wii Dancing games.
Swimming, just walking, anything that gets you moving.
emoticon

Hard to believe Week nine is midway. Only 4 more weeks after that.
I am so excited to see where we all end up. I am hoping we can all do a sort of before/after post. This week, enjoy whatever warm weather you have, fall is on it's way!

I blog and log foods, water, and exercise

This is for all who join.

Next, I would like everyone to pick a goal for themselves for each category.

2) FOOD INTAKE

5 Points Daily, Bonus 25 Points if reach goal every day.

9/3 - met all my goals for today, food, exercise and water tracked and within ranges, blogged, meditated, and heading to bed - so far I am on track with the sleep for this week hoping to keep it going.

My challenge is getting the right kind of exercise. I do walk a lot & that is not a problem - my dog needs at least 3-4 walks a day. I like bike riding, but today it's raining (with lots of thunderstorms!) so bike riding is not going to happen today! Eating-wise my challenge is the carbs, both starch & sugar. They are my go-to when things get rough! Gonna keep trying though!!

I managed to lose 1.6 pounds this week so I still have 4.2 pounds to catch up on as well as my 1 pound per week in order to meet the challenge so I am going to have to buckle down and up my exercise. I am also going for another loaded week.

PIXIES' blog made me realize...YIKES it is almost Sept.
I have a very busy month coming up. So I NEED to get an action plan in place.

Good News...I have actually done Floor Exercises EVERY day in Aug
Great news for me. Over a year since I seemed to even get one week going.

Bad News...Stopped logging my food about 2 weeks ago

Sept Plan (This is also my Week 9 Plan)
Up floor exercises, just a little
35 Crunches, 12 LL, 20 SLL, Adding KickBacks, 5

LOG FOOD!!!
Do it every day in Sept, I can have a new pair of earrings, up to $20

Our 4 station, 7.5 min Circuit Training AT LEAST 2X a week.
Shooting for M-W-F

Watch steps again, shoot for 7000, at least have that be the average at the end of the week.

Okay, I did stay on track for losing the 13 in 13 weeks challenge, so will continue with that.
AND, reminding myself this is LIFE, not just a short term thing.
Sloooowly is better than Not At All

FORESTPAL
Those couple pounds will come right back off if you get back on track today. And, good news, today starts our new week. How about we both try for a fully loaded week?
I double dog dare ya!
If one of us misses, we have to write a short poem to the other about how awesome they are.
If we both make it, we send each other nice poem. Whaddaya think?
I know we can do this!

NANCYPAT, MAJONES, and LESLIE
I don't know how to inspire you all any better, you gals are doing fantastic.
You each deserve a poem next week.

Going to wait to do recap in case any of our AWOL ladies check in.

Things do not change; we change.

I lost two (2) pounds the first week, FIVE (5) pounds for the second week, lost one (1) pound for third week, two (2) pounds for the fourth week, one (1) pound for the fifth week, one (1) pound in the sixth week, stayed the same for the seventh week and lost two (2) pounds in the eighth week - I met ALL of my goals and earned all of my points for week ONE, week TWO, week THREE, week FOUR, week FIVE, week SIX, week SEVEN, and week EIGHT.

Woo Baby, another week almost done, hard to believe.

Finally got my swim under the waterfall yesterday. It was soooo awesome.
Floating on my back, looking up at the rocks surrounding the basin, I cannot desribe the beauty. I told myself that I WILL make sure I get down there a couple times a year after this.
So gorgeous, and FREE! I know people would pay for the privilege I was enjoying. How could I have waited so long?

One note, do NOT go into the fullest section of a water fall & look directly up, haha.
Took my breath away, literally, plugging my nose & of course blinding me. Had to hold my breath & swim out to get it back.
I will foerever be able to close my eyes & bring back this precious memory.
I had left the cell phone home. It was just Jim & I enjoying the day.

The trek to the bottom was not as bad as I remembered. The trip up, not nearly as rough as the first time I did it 4 years ago. I was thankful for my sturdy walking stick tho.

FORESTPAL
Sorry you are feeling punky lately. Hope you get your Sparkle back soon.

Hope your rain stops falling soon.
Also glad you are enjoying the recaps, when I get my tush around to them.
It is fun to see how many points we have all earned.

I DO Believe you will stay off the insulin. You are getting your sleep in, working on your meditation & eating so much better. emoticon

Looking good and like you are getting that 2 pound goal knocked out.

Have been feeling punk. Not moving more than activities of daily living. Looks like I may have missed reporting for a couple of days. I know I've stayed within my calorie totals, but don't remember exercise or hobby. Doubt I did any. Computer has worked only sporadically. Haven't felt up to a session with tech over phone to get it fixed.

8/28 report: Calories good, no exercise; did work on one hobby. Today I will exercise too.

Let the good times increase as the weight shrinks.

BONUS 10 points if log every day ALL week
This is for all who join.

Next, I would like everyone to pick a goal for themselves for each category.

1)EXERCISE

Fulfill that goal for 25 weekly points.

Four day per week in the pool - at least one water aerobics class plus a second hour doing swimming or strength training - gotta leave a day for pool closure, other obligations, etc.

3 days per week at least 1 hour non-pool exercise - probably walking and/or strength training
OR more pool time on these days as an alternative

2) FOOD INTAKE

My goal for food intake is to eat healthy enough that I do not require my insulin - yesterday was the start of my fifth week without insulin so I guess I did without it for a month.

5 Points Daily, Bonus 25 Points if reach goal every day.

WEEK EIGHT - no added goals - working on the added goals from previous weeks sleep, meditation, and tai chi.

8/23 - successfully completed all my goals for today - earned ALL my points. I didn't lose but also didn't gain. I got my exercise, food, and water all tracked, and stayed within my limits. I am satisfied that I have done what I committed to.

8/24 - I slept well last night and got to sleep in. I ate within my ranges, tracked my food, exercise and water, meditated, did a whole slew of stretching, some yoga, hours in the pool, and then some dancing - overall an active day all considered. I am still off the insulin but stress may change that if my BS doesn't return to my happy numbers soon. Great day - earned all my points.

8/25 - Tracked food, exercise, and water, stayed within my ranges, meditated, blogged, etc. Earned all my points for the day. Slept well, giving it a few more days before returning to my insulin - stress and lower exercise minutes both can be the cause.

8/26 - earned all of my points for today - tracked exercise, nutrition, and water, stayed within all my ranges. Still struggling with the slightly elevated BS but hoping to give it a few more days before changing anything up - I blogged and meditated and so forth.

8/27 - Earned all my points for today - tracked exercise, food, and water and stayed within my ranges. This morning my FBS was 95 and it stayed good all day - hope it continues - will have to watch on stressful days though - blogged (not a very BIG blog but just enough to say I am worn out) - meditated and am getting to bed so I get enough sleep tonight too. WHEW - I am beat.

8/28 - met all my goals today - ate within my ranges, tracked food, exercise, and water. Blogged, meditated, and my FBS was 96 today. I am THRILLED - it was also only 90 just before dinner - MAYBE I won't have to slip back into the taking my insulin after all.

8/29 - met all my goals today - ate within my ranges, tracked food, water, and exercise. Blogged meditated, FBS was 80 this morning - I am still rockin' it. AND I lost 2 pounds. Watching closely for the MAGIC 250 - I am so close that I can almost TASTE it - just 3 more pounds to go and I will be at that magic number - 100 pounds DOWN and gone forever. LOL

Going to keep fingers crossed that you won't have to start insulin again.
I know how it feels to go back on stuff. When I was 195 I didn't need Blood Pressure
Meds anymore, but, here I am taking them again. Like you, I need to get rid of
about 50 pounds to be off for good. It is good to set goals & I know we can get there.

MAJONES
What can I say. You keep plugging along and getting those results.

I am with you on the tablets, only really good for games & maybe reading books. But I prefer to read actual books. Thanks for keeping in touch with us.

FORESTPAL
FANTASTIC the way you got right back in the groove after your Birthday.
Pain is a &@!&$# but oddly enough, exercise does help usually. My hip was really bothering me last month. That is partly why I out floor exercises on my challenge. Now that I have done them every day, hip still hurts but not EVERY day & not quite as bad. I know the side hip extensions help make it stronger.
emoticon every pound you lose contributes to less pain.

MYTIME
I did go to the Dr and lost 6 from last time.
Made her happy.
I am signed on to lead a Sierra Club Hike in Nov, so I am really going to try & step up my game. I want to be confident I can wear those other hikers out & not embarrass myself.

To LAURA
Our weeks run Fri thru Thurs. concurrent with the "Lose 13 Pounds in 13 Weeks" Challenge.
I like to have points in by Sat Noon. But, since I have been running so late getting totals done, even Sun Noon would be ok. Come on back & see us! Great way to get some good habits started before the Holiday Rush begins/

Forestpal - YES, the reduction of pain is REAL - when you are choosing healthier selections, losing weight, and exercising - PAIN will often decrease. I am happy to hear you are really making progress.

MyTime - Yes, the stress can DEFINITELY cause the higher readings and so can the fact that I have cut back on my pool time because it is hard to get 5-9 hours AFTER 4 p.m when the pool closes at 8:30. I would rather go back on the insulin and predicted it MIGHT be necessary because I am still about 50 pounds more than I was the LAST TIME I was able to quit taking the insulin completely for a couple of years. My body wishes I didn't have to work - BUT I am okay with working but sure am impatient to get off ALL of MY medications.

Hi Everyone...Yes LESLIE it IS Week 8 Already
Times sure flies.

I have been running around with family today and have points m stly figured, hope to get to posting them tomorrow AM

MAJONES
I think it is cuz we are getting older, do you see changes in balance as well as co-ordination?
I sure doThey say working with a balance ball helps. But I almost kill myself! lol

NANCYPAT
Crossing my fingers that your BS numbers go where you want them.
It is so huge to not have to take your insulin. You have done so great this summer.
Could stress be causing change in numbers?

FORESTPAL
Sorry about the pain. Yes, it does suck
As for splurge, hey, we all need one once in awhile.
I gained 2 pounds last week, then turtled on Fri, but back down this AM.
Using that to remind myself to behave tonight.

DItto to what FORESTPAL just posted. I am doing good on calories, but not getting in enough walking and pain really does suck. I lost 1.1 pounds this week so I can't complain too much. Just need to work on finding more time to workout. This morning I did a walking DVD since I don't know if I will get to walk tonight. Oh, and for a NSV I wore a pair of zip up pants yesterday for the first time in ages. I will be so glad when all of the elastic waist clothes are too big and gone for good.

8/22: All areas of my personal challenge are yes for the 22nd.
I'm doing outstanding on keeping below my calorie target. Less well on exercise, but I'm doing it. Hobbies are about the same as exercise. I'm doing a little at a time. Keeping up with life uses up almost all of my energy. Pain is a bitch.

WEEK 8 -

I lost two (2) pounds the first week, FIVE (5) pounds for the second week, lost one (1) pound for third week, two (2) pounds for the fourth week, one (1) pound for the fifth week, one (1) pound in the sixth week, and stayed the same for the seventh week - I met ALL of my goals and earned all of my points for week ONE, week TWO, week THREE, week FOUR, week FIVE, week SIX and week SEVEN.

WEEK EIGHT - No added goals - focus on sleep, meditation, and tai chi (NOT mandatory, just focusing on them as they remain important.)

I blog and log foods, water, and exercise
5 Points each day
BONUS 10 points if log every day ALL week
This is for all who join.

Next, I would like everyone to pick a goal for themselves for each category.

1)EXERCISE

Fulfill that goal for 25 weekly points.

Boy, what is it with the computers lately?
I had trouble last week, this week it is poor HOTGRANDMA & FORESTPAL
Must be a "bug" going round, haha

MAJONES
emoticon on your 2 pound loss last week.
Sending you good vibes for this week.

LESLIE
Hope you are feeling good, no migraines & lots of exercise.
Thinking of you.

As for me....
Went to Dr yesterday. She was happy with my 6 pound loss (in 6 MONTHS!)
boy, is she easy. lol I am telling myself I will be AT LEAST in the 250s next time I see her.
But I would really like to be in 220s or less by then (Feb)
At least all my bloodwork good.

I am still fussing with figuring out a trifold for the AntiFracking conference.
Would probably help if I had a newer version of Microsoft Office than 2007
but I am too cheap to buy new one.

Best news, hubby & I have started circuit training M-W-F
on the 4 pieces of equipment we have downstairs,
TM/Bike/Weight Machine (I forgot how much I love butterflys!) Gazelle
7 1/2 minutes each for 28 minutes, with some stretches added.
Might not seem like much, but a start & more than we have been doing since like March
AND, I have done my floor exercises Every DAY this Month.
Yay Me

Tomorrow we get to hear heartbeat of the newest grandchild for first time.
Then we are going to the riverwalk in Chattanooga to bike or walk (if raining)

Stay Healthy Ladies. emoticon

8/19 & 20. Computer quit on me before I could get the 19th report in. Success on all 3 of my goals. Also passed my 170 lb goalpost, and am still at 169 lbs. -- plus, hip pain less. Who could ask for anything more?

WEEK 7 -

I lost two (2) pounds the first week, FIVE (5) pounds for the second week, lost one (1) pound for third week, two (2) pounds for the fourth week, one (1) pound for the fifth week and one (1) pound in the sixth week - I met ALL of my goals and earned all of my points for week ONE, week TWO, week THREE, week FOUR, week FIVE and week SIX. I blog and log foods, water, and exercise
5 Points each day
BONUS 10 points if log every day ALL week
This is for all who join.

Next, I would like everyone to pick a goal for themselves for each category.

1)EXERCISE

Fulfill that goal for 25 weekly points.

Four day per week in the pool - at least one water aerobics class plus a second hour doing swimming or strength training - gotta leave a day for pool closure, other obligations, etc.

3 days per week at least 1 hour non-pool exercise - probably walking and/or strength training

5 Points Daily, Bonus 25 Points if reach goal every day.

WEEK SEVEN - no added goals - working on the added goals from previous weeks sleep, meditation, and tai chi.

8/16 - Ate within my ranges, meditated, blogged, exercised, drank my water, tracked my water, food and exercise. I am getting to bed early and still no insulin. - I met all my goals today and earned all my points.

8/17 - Ate within my ranges - yes even though I went to the Greek Festival and ate a baklava sundae (actually only had half as my son and I shared one) and a gyro sandwich (again, only half, Ed and I had decided to share and then neither of us would eat too much and feel bloated and like we overdid things), drank lots of water, walked a lot and swam today for exercise and I tracked the water, exercise, and food. Still no insulin, slept in and will get to bed early again tonight. Met all of my goals and earned all my points.

8/18 - Ate within my ranges, tracked food, exercise, and water, still no insulin, slept well last night, meditated, went to church, blogged, etc. - earned all my points and met all my goals for the day.

8/19 - met all goals and earned all points - tracked food and water and exercise, GOT 10,000+ steps today and 4 hours in pool - meditated, no insulin, slept well, blogged, and stayed within my ranges. WHEW - I am off to bed.

8/20 - met all my goals today - pool, meditation, no insulin, slept well, blogged, and stayed within my ranges, tracked food, water, and fitness - earned all my points

8/21 - met all my goals today - pool time was a surprise - walked 15,000+ steps, meditation, no insulin, stayed within my ranges, tracked food, water, and fitness - earned all my points

8/22 - Met all my goals today - pool time was SHORT but good - walked 13,000+ steps, meditation, stayed within my ranges, tracked food water and fitness - earned all my points.
