Sounds like everyone did super!!

Last weekend I did get my garden weeded! What a chore I let go to long, it took me both evenings to get it finished and the sore shoulders for a couple of days.
And for my feet, they got the pampering they deserved, and even polished toe nails.

Well it's monday...
Fitness: I took my dog for a nice walk at the Deleware Water Gap after picking her up from her vacation but not really as long as I had hoped for.

Nice: well I didn't bike over to DQ but I did drive to a friends apartment & then we walked over to DQ.

I did get my fitness in this weekend though, plenty of yard work!

Just got back from a nice hike to Latourell Falls in the Columbia River Gorge - meant to go to Mt. Hood, but it's a little cloudy today and I'd rather wait for a great view. So pretty, you can get behind the waterfall - my hubby, son, and dogs all loved it! The reward - have to pop the wine cork tonight - mmm have a nice chilled Lambrusco ready to go...

I met weekend challenge! Not only did I walk for an hour on Saturday, I walked today too! I also did a few nice things for myself this weekend.

I find that looking weight and no longer having proper fitting close can be discouraging for me. On the other hand, I don't to spend money buy new clothes, I won't wear for long! My solution was to my local thrift store and by some much needed smaller pants! :-) I also needed some smaller quality bras (sorry guys), so I took myself to Macy's for a new bra.

On today, I treated myself to an hour of yoga. Yes, while technically, that is exercise, it my form of centering myself.

I hope everybody has good weekend!

Ahhh, its not Monday yet, but I have met all of my weekend goals. Saturday morning I was up with the sun (a chilly 51 degrees) and did a 4.4 mile hike. Later my girlfriend and I went for a lovely drive and picnic in Acadia National Park.

Today was a little 2 mile, 1 hr, 40 minute hike....great pictures.

My weekend challenges are just to make it through the weekend. I go into work Friday at midnight and work until 4pm saturday. I then work sunday morning 8am-4pm and go back to work at Midnight Sunday. I only have a few more weekends of this, and then I'll get to do what I enjoy best about weekends, taking my nephew for hikes, bike rides, or just working in the yard.

I started working a second job in May and have been working 7 days a week since then. I've surprised myself by making it this long with only a 3 day break in the middle of the summer. I keep myself going by promising, and reminding myself that this is only temporary. I will have my weekends back soon enough. Thankfully, I will have my weekends back during my favorite time of year, fall! Oh, I think I've ever fall weekend planned out! Camping trips, canoe trips, hiking trips, baking (I love baking in the fall! Apples are my favorite ingredient), and just relaxing outside in the cool air.

In the meantime, I do fit in time for myself and fitness during the week. I've been going for bike rides in the evenings. And, I've rewarded myself for all the hours working by buying a Zune! I now have all kinds of music to walk/bike to!

Never have I been a blue calm sea. I have always been a storm. -- Stevie Nicks

Danced the night away at a charity party. It was a lot of fun. The family is really rich, but have a lot of heart. My friend invited me to go. Not sure how many calories I burned dancing. At least I got some exercise in today.

I wish I could get out & hike! Last week when I walked 4 miles (in the city, on level ground), my knee hurt so bad the next day! I need to figure out what's wrong with it, but for now:

activity: tackle the house & yard. They both need it desperately, as I have company coming in a couple of weeks.

be nice to myself: does the blackberry body powder I hunted down online & bought for myself today count?

Wow, lots of hikes for the weekend!! Not me, it's hard to get DH on the trails during weekends but I got him through the week, so pretty good trade off.

For me, I plan on weeding my garden (way overgrown with weeds) and for something nice, the ice cream sure sounds good but I think I'm going to pamper my feet with a massage & lotion.

I'm looking forward to hearing how everyone did over the weekend!!

This weekend I'm getting back on the trail....I haven't hiked since Sunday....I fell off the doorstep and mucked up my foot...Its feeling better now, so I'm going to give it a go Saturday morning. Then, after I hike, my partner and I are taking a drive and gonna have us a nice little picnic. Or, at least, that's the plan.

I am going to exercise at least once this weekend for at least a couple of hours. Starting tomorrow I am going to get back on the program. Went to Disnyland yesterday. I know I ate not ideal and today I woke up with a sore throat. I tend to baby myself when not feeling well that is why I didn't say I would get back on the program today. I am wondering though how many calories I burned at Disneyland. I was really tired.

This weekend I plan to walk/jog on Saturday, and take a longer walk on Sunday. The weather's supposed to be pretty bad, but I think I can get the walks in. I'm also going to be testing my home elliptical machine, which has been making unhappy noises lately, so we can call the manufacturer on Monday for service or a new part.

For my treat--I'm going to sleep late. With 2 young kids, that's definitely decadence.

We're doing a 20 miler, 4,500 ft elevation gain, 20 lb pack, Yosemite hike. It should be a good day tomorrow! We'll start hiking at first light and put on the miles. My husband lived in Yosemite for 5 summers during college and knows the little known trails like the back of his hand. It's really fun going up there with him. I'm bringing my big camera and should have fun shooting, I'll probably blog the pics next week, if they come out well.

I like the comment about wine, I'll probably do that too after the hike. I once did a really fast hike out from the top of Mt. Olympus for the promise of wine and cheese on the beach at sunset. I don't know if any of you have ever done that hike, but we missed sunset by about an hour - LOL. The wine was still excellent!

But, for me, the 1 nice thing for the weekend is that we pick up our youngest from the airport on Saturday night (so we have to do the 20 with enough time to get out and drive back). She's been away all summer being a nanny. I'll have her home for 2 weeks, then she's back off to college.

Life is not a journey to the grave with intentions of arriving safely in a pretty well-preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out and loudly proclaiming ... WOW! What a ride!

OK. I am going to hike 8 miles in on a trail clearing hike with the PCTA. We are going in from the north end of Mt. Washington Wilderness on the PCT. Last downed tree we know of is approximately 8 miles in. Something good for me and you and anyone else using this trail.
