Did you ever have a time in your adult life when you were eating healthily and exercising regularly, without difficulty, and basically living a healthy lifestyle overall without effort?
Can you tell us about it? What was it about your life at that time that made it so easy for you to stick to a healthy routine?

While there have been times I have eaten healthily and/or exercised fully, the only time I was able to do this in a complete manner and without emotional stress was when I was pregnant as an IVF surrogate. It was one of the best experiences of my life. I viewed myself as a very important babysitter for nine months - 24/7 - no "break" time. It was my responsibility to make sure this baby, which did not belong to me, had the very best possibility of life, and was in the very best environment - which was my body. I can't seem to recreate that mental aspect for myself, even though I tell myself I deserve to be in the best environment, or that my children deserve me to be the healthiest I can. I don't understand why, but it was different when I was a surrogate.
