Did you ever have a time in your adult life when you were eating healthily and exercising regularly, without difficulty, and basically living a healthy lifestyle overall without effort?
Can you tell us about it? What was it about your life at that time that made it so easy for you to stick to a healthy routine?

While there have been times I have eaten healthily and/or exercised fully, the only time I was able to do this in a complete manner and without emotional stress was when I was pregnant as an IVF surrogate. It was one of the best experiences of my life.
I viewed myself as a very important babysitter for nine months - 24/7 - no "break" time. It was my responsibility to make sure this baby, which did not belong to me, had the very best possibility of life, and was in the very best environment - which was my body.
I can't seem to recreate that mental aspect for myself, even though I tell myself I deserve to be in the best environment, or that my children deserve me to be the healthiest I can. I don't understand why, but it was different when I was a surrogate.
My son Scott's memorial:
"I'm not telling you it's going to be easy.
I'm telling you it's going to be worth it."
"Life isn't about how to survive the storm,
but how to dance in the rain."
