The log story as far as I can remember it is the peasants of one village were ordered to supply a king with wood, but one was un-able to meet his quota for wood so instead he made a cake in the shape of a log and presented that to the king instead, so every year after that the baker had to give the yule log cake instead of his usual quota of wood.
As far as I know there are two kinds of logs, Cake and Ice cream. There are probably more. Just any kind of cake that is in the shape of a log. It is a Christmas tradition. I don't know the story behind it, but I know in England they have a yule log.
Anyway, we bought the log as requested. It is actually still sitting in our fridge!
After the meal, we all decided we would save the log for later, and somehow we never got to it.
Maybe we will eat it for New Year's Eve.
Maybe not. It is in the freezer. It will keep. For a little while longer anyway. At some point we are going to want to eat it.
ever, eggos are waffles you buy in the freezer section of the store. I use them all the time at work.
Me, breakfast is going to be cereal, unless MIL is going to be a little later then I will make a proper breakfast to hold the kids off until she gets here. We used to have pancakes, but hubby says it takes too long.
We have 3 kinds cookies, crackers, cheese & meat, chocolate to snack on all day.
Dinner, will probably be early this year, around lunch time.
Turkey, Stove Top Stuffing(yeah I said Stove Top), candied sweet potatoes, and I have croissant dough in the frig to prepare for dinner tomorrow, hope it works out, first time I am making it at home. Oh and homemade Jellied Cranberry Sauce.
Dessert, homemade pumpkin pie using fresh pumpkin puree with whipped cream.
